Houston-UAB Betting Preview

UAB and Houston may be the least high profile of the three betting events tonight, but sports betting experts say it’s very strong from an investment standpoint. You have the official betting previews of Wake Forest-Clemson, and the Dodgers-Phillies, now he is the same for Alabama Birmingham and Houston. The college football odds have Houston as an 18-18.5 point chalk with a total ranging from 66 in Vegas to 67 on the offshore line.

Grandmaster sports handicapper Joe Duffy of GodsTips, anchor of OffshoreInsiders.com admits that “UAB is on our radar screen as a possible dichotomous straight up and ATS team.”

The official explanation is, “We discount 98 percent of trends, but this has proven to be the exception to the rule. Explained in our articles around the Net, basically if a team has a great SU record but horrid ATS record or visa versa, you ride for that to continue as it is the sign of which teams are most under or overvalued.”

UAB is 1-5 straight up, 0-5 outright in their lined games, yet is on a 2-0-1 spread run. Houston is 2-3 straight up, 1-3 to the Vegas odds, going over 3-of-4.

UAB has a quality running game averaging 5.4 yards per rush to teams normally allowing 4.4. Defensively they are horrid, allowing 5.1 yards per rush to teams normally getting 4.0, 9.0 yards per pass to teams normally getting 7.6 and 6.9 yards per play to 5.8.

Here are some betting trends, all records against the spread: the Blazers are 7-3 off a bye week. They are 2-9 on the road versus an opponent losing home record.  The Cougars are 7-19 at home to teams with a losing road record. They are in fact 1-8 their last nine games overall.

UAB has gone over 9-2 versus teams with a losing record.

There is little question who will cover the pointspread. Mark the Shark, the top handicapper west of the Mississippi hits 60-65 % of his Game/Total of the Month or higher plays.

Wednesday, Oct. 1, he nails Boise State as his 12 Game of the Week winner the last 24, fresh off of New Mexico on Sept. 27. Wake Forest-Clemson Sportsbook Preview

promo/euro

Here is the official Clemson-Wake Forest preview for football betting. Clemson is 3-2 straight up but 0-3 to the number with all three lined games going under the total. This is the Tigers first real road game as they played Alabama on a neutral field.

Wake Forest is 3-1 straight up, 2-2 against the spread but the road team has covered all four of their games. Wake Forest is 10-6 against the spread in the series, even though Clemson is 11-5 straight up.

Clemson’s struggles are not on offense. They get 5.0 yards per rush to teams normally getting 4.6 and 7.6 passing yards per attempt to 7.0, which amounts to 6.3 yards per play to 5.7.

Those same ratings say that Clemson is above average defensively. They hold teams to .2 yards per rush below their normal average and .5 less per pass attempt.

Wake Forest‘s strength is defensively. On offense, they are getting a paltry 2.4 yards per rush against teams normally allowing 3.0 and 6.5 passing yards per attempt to 6.8.

However, on defense, the numbers are impressive. They are allowing just 4.0 yards per rush to teams normally getting 5.5 and 5.6 yards per pass attempt to teams normally getting 7.6. Overall they are holding foes to 1.6 yards per play below their normal average. “That is one of the best ratios in the country,” says the top football handicapper ever Mike Godsey of GodsTips.

Here are some betting trends. All records are against the spread: Wake Forest is 1-9 at home off a bye week and 9-24 at home if their last game was at home. Wake though is 8-1 in virtual pick ‘em games (+/- three points or less either way). They are also 8-0 off ATS loss and 8-2 after getting less than 100 yards rushing last game.

The Los Angeles Dodgers take on the Philadelphia Phillies
in Game 1 of the NLSC. Derek Lowe is on the hill for

The Dodgers have won eight straight games to teams with a
winning record and are 22-8 their last 30 both overall and on grass. But there
is some reason for the Dodgers to be blue. They are 25-52 going back the last
two years, on the road to teams with a home winning percentage of .600 or
greater. They have also dropped seven straight to the NL East.

The Phillies are on a 6-0 run at home to teams with a
winning record. They are 10-2 after scoring five or more runs their last game
and 21-8 to right-handers. However, the Phillies have lost 7-of-10 with Hamels if they allowed two runs or less in their last game.
Philadelphia is 20-8 at home in the
series.

Derek Lowe though has been much better at home than on the
road. Outside of Dodger Stadium his ERA is 4.33 and has a .334 OBP against.

Florida Atlantic-Troy Betting Info

Who needs to watch Barack Obama and John McCain when we can view Florida Atlantic and Troy? The economy is doing great for the world’s best sports handicappers. Let others spin who won the Obama-McCain debate.  We will tell you who covers between the Trojans and Owls.

Sportsbooks currently have Troy a 3.5-4 point favorite with a total of 51. Troy State is 2-2 straight up, 2-1 against the spread and has gone under two of their three lined games. Florida Atlantic is 1-4 straight up, but 3-2 to the Vegas odds, going under 4-of-5.

Florida Atlantic is off a three-game road trip which ended in their last second loss to Middle Tennessee State.  Referring to FAU coach Howard Schnellenberger’s decision to pooch kick then go into a prevent defense, Grandmaster sports handicapper Joe Duffy of GodsTips said, “That loss is 100 percent on Schnellenberger. Coaches are supposed to put their team in position to win. He put them in position to fail and they obliged.”

This is a game that pits the Sun Belt co-champions of last year. Perhaps no player in the country has baffled in a negative sense as much as Owls QB Rusty Smith. Last year he was named Sun Belt Player of the year with 32 TDs and seven interceptions. Over his last two games, he’s thrown six picks and nary a touchdown.

Troy is 5-1 straight up on ESPN2. Their offense under first-year signal caller Jamie Hampton is averaging 441.8 yards per game. According to the more accurate ratings, Troy is better on the defensive side of the ball. They allow just 4.6 yards per play to teams normally getting 5.1.

Red Sox Favorite Over Tampa Rays in ALCS Highlights Tuesday Betting News

Perhaps for the non-bettor (is there such an animal?), it’s one of the slowest sports nights of the entire year. If you are a non-bettor, go play Pogo backdoors at Pogo.com. If you want to profit in a struggling economy, skip Wall Street and head to OffshoreInsiders.com. It’s time for crushing the sportsbooks.  Here is a look in today’s Daily Sports Roundup.

The Gridiron Spotlight

Tuesday night again features a Florida Atlantic contest this week, as the Owls play host to the Troy Trojans in a Sun Belt matchup. Florida Atlantic suffered their third straight defeat last week, giving up a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns in a 14-13 loss to Middle Tennessee. The Owls at least covered the spread on the road in that game, so they’re 3-2 ATS on the season despite only picking up the victory in one of their five outings.

The Trojans were thumped 55-24 by Oklahoma State last time out, a week after falling 28-10 to ranked Ohio State. Troy had started the season with back-to-back wins over Middle Tennessee and cupcake Alcorn State. The Trojans were 17.5-point underdogs versus the Cowboys and couldn’t cover the spread; they’re now 2-1 ATS on the season.

The oddsmakers opened the Trojans as 3.5-point favorites to get the win Tuesday night.

Last night, the Saints Reggie Bush helped the MNF game with the Minnesota Vikings go over the total, Martin Gramatica helped Minnesota pull out a win as the MasterLockLine.com sweeps football again and goes 4-1 overall including the Red Sox and under.
