Are You On the Outside Looking In?

Were you on the outside looking in? Time to redeem yourself with a limited time offer from Center of the Handicapping Universe GodsTips.com Here is the sample and see below for the offer:

NFL

Wise Guy…

MINNESOTA +2 Green Bay

Minnesota has the league’s best run defense and a great one-two punch at running back with Chester Taylor and Adrian Peterson. Yes Taylor is expected to play and start. Who starts at QB for Minnesota, really isn’t as important because there is no edge in the raw quarterback of the future versus the journey of Kelly Holcomb.

We are sold on Green Bay being a good team, but not on the verge of being 4-0 squad. Going with any team on the moneyline after a loss of 6 or less against foe after scoring 25 or more points in two straight games is +81.6 on the moneyline.

NY GIANTS +3 Philadelphia

The Eagles personify both ends of one of our gambling Golden Rules: each week there are 3-5 teams that are not nearly as good as they looked and 3-5 teams that are not nearly as bad as they’ve looked.

Remember, Philly put it all together after looking abysmal in Weeks one and two. Philly’s Brian Westbrook is a gametime decision, but we don’t expect him to be 100 percent even if he plays. He is huge for Philly. He did not practice this week. Meanwhile, our sources tell us key Giants weapons Plaxico Burress will start.

Major…

SEATTLE -2 San Francisco

Shaun Alexander will wear down the league’s No. 25 run defense. Though we are actually sold on the 49ers being a team on the verge of breaking out, they are without key chain mover tight end Vernon Davis.

Seattle can also move the ball in the air as they average 7.4 passing yards per attempt against teams normally allowing 6.4. Seattle’s domination of San Francisco suffered a setback last year when they were swept.

To be sure, the formula for beating Seattle will be more complicated than it was last season. In both games, the 49ers kept pounding running back Frank Gore into the line and when he broke into the secondary, the Seahawks safeties tackled - or rather, didn’t tackle - like Chickenhawks. Holmgren didn’t mess around. He dumped both of the old safeties last winter and signed two new ones, Deon Grant (from Jacksonville) and Brian Russell (from Cleveland).

Grant and Russell can tackle. With Alexander and Hasselbeck both in the line-up, which was not the case last year, they are one of the top teams in the NFC. They get the win today.

INDIANAPOLIS -9.5 -115 Denver

The last two times Denver has come to Indianapolis, the Colts scored 90 points. This is a competitor consensus. If we do not have a lean towards one side but it does not rise to the level of premium play, but get a strong play or consensus from the few other handicappers we respect, we pass it as a “competitor consensus”.

ARIZONA +230 (Moneyline) Pittsburgh

Arizona’s head coach Ken Whisenhunt and assistant head coach Russ Grimm know the Steelers as well as their current coaching staff. Going with any team on the moneyline after a loss of 6 or less against foe after scoring 25 or more points in two straight games is +81.6 on the moneyline.

ATLANTA +3 Houston

Houston’s best weapons Ahman Green is likely out and Andre Johnson is out. Houston may be without three of their top five receivers. Atlanta has a very winnable game. While we singled out Houston as a dark horse team before the year, it was because of several weapons they will be without today.

Fantasy Football and Sports Betting News and Notes

Here are real-time fantasy football and football betting news and notes for today’s NFL directly from the staff of OffshoreInsiders.com

In an ugly battle, the Raiders take on the Dolphins. Dante Culpepper gets the start for Oakland at quarterback. Miami is a four-point favorite (NFL betting odds). For the Fins, middle linebacker Zach Thomas is a game time decision.

Speaking of game time decisions, Houston running back Ahman Green is just that, with Ron Dayne his replacement. They will be sans big weapon, wide receiver Andre Johnson. Playing at Atlanta, the Texans are 2.5 point road favorites according to BetUs Sportsbook

The Ravens are laying four-points on the road to the Browns. Cleveland tight end Kellen Winslow says he will play. The headline on this game for NFL bettors is that it’s a Level 5 play from Stevie Vincent, Senior Handicapper at OffshoreInsiders.com

Vincent is a sensational 11-4 the last two weeks in football, a smooth 73.3 percent.

The Rams are without running back Steven Jackson, who led the NFL in total yards from scrimmage last year. St. Louis is getting 13 points from Dallas according to NewBodog

The Bears are laying three-points at the Detroit Lions, but Chicago has several injuries on defense. They will be without starting cornerbacks Charles Tillman and Nate Vasher. Meanwhile defensive tackle Tommie Harris and linebacker Lance Briggs are questionable.

Detroit’s star weapon, wideout Calvin Johnson is also a game time decision.

Tampa is getting three-points at Carolina according to BetUs Sportsbook, but the home favorites are without quarterback Jake Delhomme and instead have journeyman David Carr starting. The Panthers are also without linebacker Dan Morgan.

No handicapper dominates any sport the way Joe Duffy’s GodsTips.com does the NFL. Led by Florida State yesterday, GodsTips is on the verge of sweeping college and pro Wise Guys for the second week in the last three. Get two more NFL Wise Guy plays today, plus a lot more Click now to purchase

Fantasy Football and Sports Betting News and Notes For Week 4

Here are sports betting and fantasy football news and notes for Sunday’s action.

Houston-Atlanta

So-called “intangibles” handicappers, note that Houston starting quarterback Matt Schaub returns to Atlanta where he backed up disgraced signal caller Michael Vick. Houston running back Ahman Green is questionable and wide receiver Andre Johnson is likely out.

Green Bay-Minnesota

Green Bay, with Dallas, is one of two NFC undefeated teams. The Packers have a seven-game winning streak dating back to last year, the longest in the NFL. Minnesota, much like last year, has a dominant run defense. They allow a conference best 67.3 yards per game. Though Pack QB Brett Favre lost nine of his first 11 starts at the Metrodome, he has turned it around winning 3-of-4 in the Twin Cities.

Who will start at quarterback for Minnesota, Tarvaris Jackson or Kelly Holcomb, still remains to be seen. NFL guru, Mike Godsey of GodsTips, echoes a common theme among sharpies, “It’s not that consequential from a handicapping standpoint. Jackson will have growing pains and the jury is still out. Holcomb is what he is—a journeyman emergency starter.”

Oakland-Miami

Dante Culpepper gets the start at QB for Oakland. Culpepper is another quarterback returning to play the team he played for last year. Fresh off a knee injury, he had a career worst season in his brief four-game stint with the Fins. Miami is 6-0 straight up in the series.

Bears-Lions

As the world knows, the Bears have finally benched incompetent quarterback Rex Grossman in favor of Brian Griese. Chicago has some injuries on defense. Defensive tackle Tommy Harris is doubtful. Starting linebacker Lance Briggs is questionable to probable and starting cornerbacks Charles Tillman and Nate Vasher are questionable.

Rams-Cowboys

Admitting he has not fully handicapped this game in particular, OffshoreInsiders.com expert Cy McCormick of the MasterLockLine, warns “beware the oddsmakers know the public will love an undefeated home team against a winless road team,” while emphasizing it’s a rule of thumb, he continued, “the betting value is almost always with the road team.”

Neutralizing that fact is that the Rams will be without Steven Jackson, who led the NFL in yards from scrimmage last year. Dallas defense is improving each week allowing just 10 points and 239 yards to Chicago last week. But then again, it was the Bears and Rex Grossman.

Note that a major conglomerate owns several radio tout services, Jonathan Stone’s Stone Cold Locks, Adam Myer, and “Handicapping legend” Tony Smith. They know if they are going to spend tens of thousands of dollars advertising their services, they better have winning picks. They are purchasing forensic handicapping founder Stevie Vincent’s plays and selling them at literally 5-20 times the cost. Why not get them from the same source they do—Stevie Vincent at OffshoreInsiders.com

Ravens-Browns

Baltimore was 6-2 outright on the road last year. They are 5-3 at Cleveland. Starting quarterback Steve McNair is hurting and head coach Brian Billick promised to be “cautious”. Former starter Kyle Boller has shown some spark in relief.

Browns running back Jamal Lewis will have extra incentive going against his former team which cut him despite being the franchise leader in total yards and touchdowns. In the last nine series matchups, Cleveland has been held to 256 yards or less.

Jets-Bills

A healthy Jets quarterback Chad Pennington goes against a ravaged Bills defense. Also, Buffalo starting quarterback J.P. Losman is likely out with a knee injury which means rookie Trent Edwards gets the call.

Seahawks-49ers

Seattle’s Shaun Alexander will play with a broken wrist. San Francisco will be without Vernon Davis, their reliable target at tight end. Second half bettors note that Seattle has given up only 17 combined second half points. The Niners swept the series last year following a six game Hawk winning streak.

Buccaneers-Panthers

David Carr appears the likely starter at QB for Carolina as Jake Delhomme has an elbow injury. Carolina is 7-1 straight up to Tampa, but with Delhomme as the starter. Tampa, led by new quarterback Jeff Garcia, has averaged 27.5 points per game in their last two. Oft injured Panther middle linebacker Dan Morgan is questionable with an ankle injury.

Chiefs-Chargers

KC ranks 31st of 32 teams in scoring at 8.7.

Denver-Indianapolis

“Indy has all the makings of a top dichotomous ATS and SU team,” says OffshoreInsiders.com NFL Guru Mike Godsey of GodsTips. Often used in the NBA, he explains, “We discount 98 percent of trends, but this has proven to be the exception to the rule. Explained in our articles around the Net, basically if a team has a great SU record but horrid ATS record or visa versa, you ride for that to continue as it is the sign of which teams are most under or overvalued.” The Colts are 3-0 SU, yet just 1-2 in the back pocket.

The Colts are 19-2 straight up in September under Tony Dungy including 11 straight wins. Denver is the No. 1 pass defense in the NFL. However, their last two trips to Indianapolis, they’ve allowed a combined 90 points.

Steelers-Cardinals

Arizona’s head coach Ken Whisenhunt and assistant head coach Russ Grimm know the Steelers players and many think one of them should have gotten the job that went to Mike Tomlin. Pittsburgh has outscored their first three teams by 97-26. Pittsburgh is 13-1 straight up to the AFC, but will likely be without top wide receiver Hines Ward.

Arizona is 1-2 with all three games being decided by a field goal in the closing seconds.

Eagles-Giants

Eagle’s running back Brian Westbrook is questionable. Giants are without their top running back Brandon Jacobs. Their top weapon Plaxico Burress is seeing a specialist because his injured ankle is not improving.

Even More Radio Touts

Now I can winwithtony says my radio. Mark D'Angelo does not have the winning percentage of Las Vegas handicapper Tony Smith or Jonathan Stone's stone cold locks. Tony is only hitting 89 percent or something like that.

Bet on Dancing With the Stars

Tonight I’m watching my winning bet on the MNF game between the New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Titans. For years, Monday Night Football was on ABC, but now it’s on ESPN.

My wife will be watching the over-the-air Disney Channel ABC. “Dancing with the Stars” is on tonight. Boring, unless one can wager on it. Luckily one can!

Thanks to the top sportsbook you can do more than just bet on sports.

Who will be the Dancing with the Stars winner? The top sportsbook betting odds say Melanie Brown is the favorite at 4-1 followed by Helio Castroneves at 5-1. More concerned about winning NFL bets, I must confess that I have no idea who Helio Castroneves is, but with a name like Helio, he has to be able to dance.

The person who will get American sports bettors and sports punters interested is Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban. I picture him as being Al Gore’s twin on the dance floor. Cuban is 21-2. Boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. is 9-2 to knockout the competition, while Josie Maran is 6-1.

I suppose Las Vegas bettors would prefer Wayne Newtown at 19-2, though one can’t bet in Las Vegas on events that are voted on. So even Vegas sports bettors will have to invent with top sportsbook

MNF Winner

Are you ready for some football betting winners? The Tennessee Titans travel to New Orleans to take on the Saints. New Orleans is a 4.5 point favorite, though it’s five at some sportsbooks. The posted total is 45.5.

I did hear on WPEN Sports Radio 950, some radio tout Tony Smith from Las Vegas is 14-1 and he owns tonight’s game. It’s said there are some crooks feeding on the suckers, but for every Tony Smith and Jonathan Stone there are legitimate handicappers like Dr. Bob, Couch Potato and honest ones like Mark Lawrence, Jeff Benton and Oscar Dooley

The top NFL handicapper, Mike Godsey, has GodsTips 10-4 the last 14 in pro football betting. GodsTips has a Wise Guy on the side at OffshoreInsiders.com

They also, as their free sports betting pick say go with the over tonight. Here is the rationale.

Despite the high posted total, we have to like the over. Simply put, the Saints defense is almost as bad as they’ve looked this year, but their offense is much better.

The Saints are giving up 36 points per game on 7.3 yards per play and a stunning 11.5 yards per pass. While no defense is that bad, Tennessee QB Vince Young always finds a way, so he will have a lot of success tonight.

But playing at home on the fast turf, it is breakout time for their high powered offense. Remember, we had the Colts and Buccaneers in their respective games to New Orleans because the Saints offense would face a fired up team and crowd in the Colts first game since winning the Super Bowl and the Tampa defense and ball control offense, perfectly designed to slow a high powered offense. This game goes over early in the fourth quarter.

Wise Guy plays from Joe Duffy’s GodsTips are widely accepted by high rollers, bookmakers, linesmakers, and fellow handicappers as the biggest play in the handicapping abyss. This is just fact. OffshoreInsiders.com

Jonathon Stone Cold Locks Nothing On Doctor Green

So far on my radio, I have heard Dr. Green is the newest radio tout. I also heard Wayne Root’s Winning Edge has a bigger play than even TheSportsAdvisors or SportsAdvisors and Tony Smith.

All those radio 800 number touts have those generic names. I need to call Doctor Green for my winning coin flip NFL pick. There’s always Proline TV with Jimmy Feist and the Cat in the Hat Dave Cokin

September 21, 2007

More Steaming Audio Fun

Yikes, I guess Jim Feist has run out of money. For the last several years, one of his top handicappers, Scott Spreitzer had about 15 minutes of infomercial time with my main man Jody Mac on WPEN in Philadelphia. It appears instead a boiler room service known as “world class handicapper” Bobby Ventura is on.

It’s a shame because Spreitzer was not bad. The (LOL) world class handicapper Bobby Ventura sounded way too scripted. Where’s Adam Myer or Linebusters when you need them? Oh well, I guess Spreitzer is still on that Proline TV or Pigskin Prophet thing.

For elite sports service plays, the only place is OffshoreInsiders.com

Wow, More Radio "Legends"

Alright, Jonathan Stone has competition. I hear a “legendary handicapper” named I think Sam Meisner or Spike Meaner is part of something called the Linebusters radio show. Is it as good as the freeplays radio show? I’m going to be a line buster radio handicapper!

Anyway, I hope you enjoy our appearances on BetUs Radio.

Random Sports Betting Thoughts

I am getting some emails from people asking me about Joe Saumarez-Smith, who writes some articles about sports gambling for Bloomberg.com, owned by Mayor Bloomberg.

Apparently he owns Sports Gaming, a UK based company. Basically his articles are good sports betting 101 for beginners. For a sports betting expert, the articles are stating the obvious, but we have found little to dispute in his writings.

Perhaps radio handicapper Jonathan Stone could learn some of the basics from him.

Oh, love the picture of Lawrence Prezman of Who2Beton. It’s posted on Gambling911.com, the site that exposed presidential candidate Ron Paul as an enemy to the War or Terror.

Fantasy Football and Sports Betting News and Notes

Cardinals-Ravens

Young Cardinals quarterback Matt Leinart faces perhaps the toughest challenge of his career going on the road against one of the best defenses. Leinart was more comfortable in his second game of the year, a 23-20 win over Seattle and part of a 6-1 Sunday NFL by GodsTips.com. A major reason was that head coach Ken Whisenhunt simplified the playbook from week one.

49ers-Steelers

Both teams are 2-0 but San Francisco has won their two games by a combined four points, while the Steelers have won each game by 20 points. However, NFL guru Mike Godsey reminds, “The Steelers pulverized a bad and injury riddled Bills team last week.” Pittsburgh has allowed a combined 10 points, which is 10 fewer than any other team. Pittsburgh is 11-1 their last 12 straight up in interconference games.

Colts-Texans

Going back to last year, the Texans have won four in a row. Houston will likely be without their best receiver Andre Johnson. He has 14 catches for 262 yards and three touchdowns.

Chargers-Packers

Green Bay is 2-0 after starting out 1-4 each of the last three seasons. Head coach Mike McCarthy believes adjustments made in training camp, which called for more rest and recovery time, is a major reason. However, 13 players missed all or part of practice Wednesday.

Rams-Buccaneers

Last year during a wave of injuries to the offensive line, St. Louis won 4-of-5. Nevertheless, they are 0-2 this year and their offensive line is banged up. Seven time Pro Bowler Orlando Pace is out, guard Rich Incognito is doubtful, plus ace backup guard and tackle Todd Steussie is out. Quarterback Marc Bulger has been limited in practice because of sore ribs.

Cowboys-Bears

Dallas has scored the most points in the league with 82, though are fourth in yards. Chicago has allowed the fourth fewest points and fifth fewest yards. Chicago has won 13-of-15 at home holding 12 of those teams to 10 or fewer points. Their defense though has the third fewest yards and fourth fewest points. Dallas will again be without starting wide receiver Terry Glenn.

Titans-Saints

New Orleans is 0-2 but this is their home opener. Tennessee has won seven of their last nine games, but one of their losses a close one to Indianapolis 22-20 last week.

Panthers-Falcons

Atlanta has scored just 10 points in an 0-2 start and Joey Harrington has been sacked 13 times. Atlanta did sign former Jacksonville starting quarterback Byron Leftwich, but according to coach Bobby Petrino, Leftwich will be the No. 3 quarterback until he learns the offense. Harrington is 23-45 as a starting quarterback.

Vikings-Chiefs

Kansas City will be without starting wide receiver Eddie Kennison. Rookie Dwayne Bowe gets the nod. Minnesota running back Chester Taylor did not practice Wednesday. Minnesota quarterback Tavaris Jackson missed practice Wednesday nursing a sore groin. Betting expert Stevie Vincent said expect little line movement based on who the Vikings starting quarterback is. “Jackson is quarterback of the future, but he’s certainly shaky in the present.” Minnesota has incredibly lost 12-of-13 road games to the AFC.

KC is 2-5 this decade on home openers as each of their first two games were on the road and both losses. The good news is Chiefs starting quarterback Damon Huard is 6-0 all-time as a starter in KC and his passer rating is 107.3. KC’s defense ranks eighth in the league and will be buoyed by the return of defensive end Jarred Allen who served a two-game suspension. KC is 20-4 outright at home to the NFC since 1995, the league’s best mark under such paramemters.

Lions-Eagles

Philadelphia star running back Brian Westbrook did not practice Wednesday because of a knee injury. We are keeping an eye as well on Detroit running back Kevin Jones who also missed practice Wednesday with a knee injury. Philadelphia will also have to deal with the distraction (or rallying cry) on Donovan McNabb’s outspoken comments on HBO. Philly has won four straight in the series by a combined 122-76.

Giants-Redskins

Giants quarterback Eli Manning appears recovered from his shoulder injury, but starting running back Brandon Jacobs is out. Derrick Ward gets the start.

Dolphins-Jets

Each team is 0-2. Jets starting quarterback Chad Pennington is nursing an ankle injury and his status will be determined later in the week. His replacement Kellen Clemens struggled in the first three quarters last week, but nearly led the Jets back from a 20-3 fourth quarter deficit. OffshoreInsiders.com Senior Handicapper Stevie Vincent said this game looks to be the strongest betting game on the board. He will release a Level 5 play on this game. Pennington is 6-1 to Miami including 4-0 at Giants Stadium.

Bills-Patriots

New England has beaten the Jets and Chargers by identical 38-14 routs. On the other hand, Buffalo has one touchdown this year in two losses and has been outscored 41-17. New England is 12-1 the last 13 straight up in the series.

Bengals-Seahawks

Seattle has won 10-of-12 straight up to the NFC, including 5-1 on the road. But Cincinnati has lost three straight road games overall since last year, allowing an average of 36.3 points per game. Seattle is 27-6 at Qwest Field since 2003, the best home mark in the league during that span.

Gambling911 Reminds Us Ron Paul an Ally of Gambling But a Foe to Fighting Terror

Just when I thought Ron Paul would be my choice for President because he supports individual responsibility, Jennifer Reynolds of respected site Gambling911.com has done everything she can to talk me out of it.

Paul, according to Reynolds, has done everything he can to undermine the War on Terror, even opposing the Patriot Act.

Thanks to Ms. Reynolds for opening my eyes to the fact there are more important issues than Prohibition II. Reynolds, well versed in Paul, portrays him as a left wingnut whose undermining the War on Terror would make even the ACLU flinch.

Thank you Jennifer, we will scratch Paul off the list.

Sports Radio and Alleged Sports Handicappers

One of my favorite radio stations to listen to online is 610 WIP out of Philadelphia. They will happy sell ad time to any and all boiler room touts. Alleged-to-be Las Vegas oddsmaker Steve Anderson is giving our favorite gambling salesman Jonathan Stone a run for his money.

I think I’ll call his pickphone so they can telematch me. I’ll pull my favorite routine and ask him if he’s heard the big injury information on Wayne Alan Root, Jim Feist or Roxy Roxborough. Generally they stammer and claim they have the latest information.

Working 16 hours a day, I take my cheap entertainment however I can. I also noticed Phoenix Sports has eliminated all other handicappers other than Ron Raymond. This comes on the heels of CoversExperts site cutting their staff back greatly.

Wait my radio is telling me that Adam Myer has the easy Monday Night Football betting winner.

More Radio Scamdicappers

Hey great news. I just heard on the radio that not only can I get a “free” pick by calling Jonathan Stone, Wayne Allen Root Winning Edge, or Jim Feist, but now there is something called the Game Brokers or is it the Gambebrokers? First there was a Sportsbook Academy, then another radio handicapper Adam Myer, the Duke Wins and now the Gamebrokers?

I guess the sportsbooks have some help staying in business.

Bills-Steelers Free Winning Picks

The Buffalo Bills travel to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. Pittsburgh is a 10-point favorite on the NFL betting odds with an over/under of 38. Do you want the real root winning edge free pick?

The top NFL sports service in the land says go with the over in the Bills-Steelers tilt. Here is their analysis:

Clients, note that we added this as a premium play. The Steelers are playing a much more wide open offense, which means their defensive stats won’t be as good, but their fantasy football offensive stats will be. Points scored and points allowed are much more related to pace than quality of offense or defense.

J.P. Losman, Buffalo’s quarterback, is one of our famed “predictably unpredictable” guys. With a good target in Lee Evans against a defense that we will find out this year had great stats because they were not on the field we look for plenty of points.

Remember, last week, Losman went against Champ Bailey and Dre Bly in the Denver secondary. Pittsburgh loves to blitz, so Ike Taylor and Deshea Townsend in single coverage.

On defense, Buffalo has a lot of injuries at linebacker, so they won’t be able to slow down Pittsburgh. Their secondary is a celebration of nobodies: Ashton Youboty, Kiwaukee Thomas, Terrence McGee, Donte Whitner, Jim Leonhard, and Jabari Greer.

GodsTips on OffshoreInsiders.com hit with Utah outright yesterday, WVU-under Thursday lead them into Sunday sweeping Wise Guy plays in football. Free Sports Betting Pick For Saturday CFB

The latest college football odds show that Purdue is a 22.5 point betting favorite against Central Michigan. Forensic handicapping founder Stevie Vincent says take the points and go with the Chippewas.

This is no small play considering The Great One is now the choice of betting syndicates. In the early 1980s, Mark Lawrence’s Preferred Picks was considered the trends and angles guru. In football it was the Gold Sheet betting tip sheet. Curt Thomas was the NBA numbers guru.

Phil Steele and Northcoast Sports puts out great publications, but their picks have struggled mightily. Dr. Bob has his recent run and is still liked by some, but all the sharpies now jump on the forensic handicapping selections of BetOnSports360.com

The rationale is as follows for the CMU pick:

Central Michigan is 9-0 to the betting line off an over. They are also 13-3 in all games and 10-2 off of consecutive spread wins. CMU is also 12-3 against the spread after committing a turnover and 5-0 to teams with a winning record. Also according to the sportsbooks they are 13-3 after getting more than 450 total yards last game, and 20-6 after allowing more than 450 total yards last game.

There are plenty of reasons to go against the Boilermakers at your favorite online sportsbook. Purdue is 4-9 as a favorite, 7-17 against the odds after getting more than 450 total yards last game. They are 1-8 home favorites and 0-7 after allowing less than 100 yards rushing last game.

College football betting expert Stevie Vincent has one of the all-time great angles. This is among 3 Level 5 plays. The 28-1 angle is a game side but the other two Level 5 plays are over/under winners. Mastering over/under has been a staple of forensic handicapping. Stevie goes 5-0. BetOnSports360 plays are exclusively at OffshoreInsiders.com

Handicappers and Scamdicappers

Gee whiz, I called Jonathan Stone’s free pick phone knowing I’d get a call back because my call would be “telematched” as it’s often known. Their sales guy got a sales pitch from me. I told him he needed to have the plays of forensic handicapping guru Stevie Vincent of BetOnSports360.com or sports betting expert Joe Duffy of GodsTips.com

The difference being that I was serious. I asked him if he knew anything about Brandon Lang, Jim Feist, Johnny DeMarco or Scott Spritzer being injured. He stuttered and said yes they knew.

Speaking of Brandon Lang, I guess I forget to get my locks. Wasn’t he on Angelo Cataldi this morning underwhelming Al Morganti? Cy McCormick tells us none of those handicappers are ranked in any sub-category in any sport, not is Mike Wynn, Mike Rose, Arthur Ralph, Alex Smart or Razor Sharp.

Congrats to Stevie Vincent, who has replaced Dr. Bob Sports and Phil Steele’s Northcoast Sports as the go-to guy for betting syndicates. Also kudos to NewBodDog for barely missing a beat thanks to some activist judge helping some crook steak their URL.

I enjoyed being on BetUs Sportsbook radio show with respected Las Vegas handicapper Mark Franco. Hopefully we shall do it again.

Sportsbooks Betting Information

All records are against the Las Vegas pointspread.

Illinois-Syracuse

The Illini have covered at a 13-3 rate after allowing less than 100 yards rushing in their previous game. Illinois is also 11-24 after allowing less than 170 yards passing. Despite their recent struggles to win games outright, covers experts will want to note that Syracuse has covered the spread 15-of-20 non-conference. The nation’s top TV handicapper, the Couch Potato has seven televised winners. All seven are on MasterLockLine.com

Mississippi State-Auburn

Who will cover this SEC clash? Auburn is on a 3-8 overall skid to the Vegas oddsmakers. The Bulldogs are 7-1 versus the oddsmakers after allowing less than 100 yards rushing last game. They are only 10-23 versus the Vegas line as an underdog. Auburn has failed in seven straight as a double digit chalk.

UCLA-Utah

UCLA is 9-1 against the sportsbooks to the Mountain West. However, they have covered the pointspread at just a 7-21 rate their last 28 against teams with a losing record. The Utes are 25-7 as an underdog. America’s top sports service GodsTips has a Wise Guy play on this game among 10 Saturday winners. Get his plays at the top source for offshore or Vegas Experts at OffshoreInsiders.com

Notre Dame-Michigan

The Fighting Irish have beaten the online sportsbooks 7-of-10 against teams with a losing record. But they are a pitiful 8-20 after scoring less than 20 points last game. The Wolverines are 8-22 as a favorite of 3.5-10.

Arkansas-Alabama

The Crimson Tide are 23-11 after allowing less than 275 total yards last game. All-world sports handicapper Stevie Vincent reminds the world why he replaced handicapper Dr. Bob as the choice of betting syndicates. He literally has a statistic that is 28-1, yes 96.5 percent to the Vegas sports line! Stevie Vincent’s 28-1 pointspread statistic is among three Level 5 plays and five college football betting winners at OffshoreInsiders.com

Southern California-Nebraska

USC is 5-0 when the offshore bookmakers post them as a favorite of 3.5-10. They are also 23-10 their last 33 following a win of 20 or more. Nebraska plays their best against the best. The Cornhuskers are an impressive 18-2 their last 20 at home to teams with a winning road record. Yet they are 1-15 against the football pointspread after allowing more than 200 yards rushing last game.

Florida State-Colorado

FSU is 8-20 as a favorite and 1-11 as a chalk of 3.5-10 according to sports betting databases. Colorado is 18-38 after getting less than 100 yards rushing last game.

Sports Betting Tips For Vegas Experts

More college football betting news and notes for this weekend’s action in both college football and the NFL

First the college betting advice:

Louisiana Monroe-Texas A&M

Sports handicappers have several factors to weigh. On one hand, A&M may be tempted to rest key players, not to mention look-ahead. The Aggies get their first test following this game. Off a short-week, they play at Miami on Thursday.

However, this is a final chance for Texas A&M to fine-tune their struggling passing game. In beating Fresno State last Saturday, the Aggies ran the ball on 28 of their final 29 games. Oh, that game went into three overtimes, so a letdown is also something to consider.

Arkansas-Alabama

Arkansas star wide receiver Marcus Monk is out.

Fresno State-Oregon

Oregon must guard against a letdown, fresh of their 39-7 pulverizing of Michigan. Oregon has won four straight in the series, but all by a touchdown or less. However, Fresno must mentally regroup following a heart-wrenching triple overtime loss at Texas A&M. Hence, this is the second straight road game against a nationally ranked team for the Bulldogs.

Army-Wake Forest

Wake Forest will again be without starting quarterback Riley Skinner.

Now to the NFL betting edge as well as information useful to the fantasy football player:

49ers-Rams

The 49ers star running back Frank Gore will be playing with a heavy heart. His mother died Wednesday following a long illness. Gore rushed for a franchise record 1,695 yards last year.

San Diego-New England

Sportsbooks and wise guy NFL bettors alike raised an eyebrow when Chargers All-Pro tight end Antonio Gates missed practice on Wednesday. However, he did practice fully Thursday and will start Sunday.

NFL Pointspread Betting News and Notes For Week 2

NFL fantasy football and sports betting news and notes for Sunday, September 16

Jets-Ravens

Jets quarterback Chad Pennington says he will prepare as if he is starting Sunday. The Jets have been tight lipped about his injured right ankle, not even confirming if he had an MRI. If he does not play, second-year quarterback Kellen Clemens will get his first start. “Clemens is the classic looks like a Hall of Famer in the preseason, but many such quarterbacks have flopped when given a chance in the regular season,” says Mike Godsey of GodsTips.com, widely considered the top NFL handicapping expert on earth. Keep an eye on the injury status of Baltimore quarterback Steve McNair. The team website is calling him a game time decision. If he can’t go, disappointment Kyle Boller would get the start. Baltimore went 7-1 at home last year allowing just 12 points per game. Ravens left tackle Jonathan Ogden is doubtful with a toe injury. Ravens middle linebacker Ray Lewis is considered a game time decision with an arm injury that limited him Monday night.

Chiefs-Bears

The Bears lost starting safety Mike Brown and starting defensive tackle Dusty Dvoracek for the year in their 14-3 loss to San Diego. Danieal Manning, who started 14 games as a rookie, will replace Brown. Darwin Walker starts for Dvoracek. The two injured starters were key reasons why the Bears stymied Charger running back LaDainian Tomlinson to 25 yards on 17 carries. Now they face Chiefs Pro-Bowler Larry Johnson. Johnson was rusty after being a holdout most of the preseason. He had just 43 yards rushing at Houston last week. New quarterback Damon Huard struggled more, passing for just 168 yards, throwing two interceptions.

Cowboys-Dolphins

Dallas lost nose tackle Jason Ferguson with torn biceps. Cornerback starter Terence Newman could be available, but has not practiced in three weeks previous, so we will keep a close eye on his status. He did not practice Wednesday. Dallas gave up 35 points in their opening win to the NY Giants. Pokes starting wide receiver Terry Glenn is definitely out this week. Stevie Vincent, one of the OffshoreInsiders.com experts believes Dallas will not be able to sustain their offensive productivity without Glenn.

Seahawks-Cardinals

Stat of the week: Arizona actually had a better divisional record than Seattle last year. Zona was 4-2 inside the division but 1-9 outside. The teams split the head-to-head last year. Seattle will be without starting wideout D.J. Hackett.

Chargers-Patriots

For those who handicap “intangibles” this game has plenty of subplots. New England will have the distraction (or rally cry) of the burgeoning spy scandal. Also this is revenge for San Diego as New England eliminated them from the postseason last year. Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson accused New England of showing up the Chargers in the post game celebration. Chargers all-universe tight end Antonio Gates missed practice Wednesday and the Chargers are very mum as to why. Reports say it was a sore back and he will return to practice Thursday.

Bengals-Browns

Last week’s Browns starting quarterback Charlie Frye was traded to Seattle. This elevates Derek Anderson to starter and most agree he’s only keeping the seat warm for rookie Brady Quinn. Anderson was 0-3 last year as a starter while filling in for an injured Frye. Bengals starting wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh missed practice Wednesday with a knee injury, but is expected to start. Cincinnati expects their offensive line to be healthier than they were Monday night.

Saints-Buccaneers

We will keep a close eye on Tampa running back Carnell Williams. He was very limited in practice Wednesday with sore ribs. Backup Michael Pittman would go in his absence.

Packers-Giants

Giants starting quarterback Eli Manning was originally reported to be out for a month with a shoulder injury, now he is considered “day to day”. Manning has started 42 straight games including the postseason. If he is not able to start, the Pillsbury Throw Boy Jared Lorenzen gets the start. Our sources say Lorenzen looks like the likely starter as Manning did only some light throwing on Wednesday but did not practice. Starting running back Brandon Jacobs is out with Derrick Ward getting the start. Defensive end Osi Umenyiora did not practice Wednesday but worked out on a stationary bike. His status for Sunday is uncertain.

Buffalo-Pittsburgh

The Bills are probably leading the league in key injuries. Tight end Kevin Everett and safety Ko Simpson are out for the year following injuries suffered in their last-second loss to Denver. They join linebacker Keith Ellison, his replacement Coy Wire, and cornerback Jason Webster as out. Also defensive end Anthony Hargrove will serve the second game of a four-game suspension. Despite the low scoring game, Buffalo gave up 470 yards last Sunday and faces a Pittsburgh team that just scored 37 points. Cy McCormick of MasterLockLine.com assures us that Pittsburgh’s offensive explosion last week was no aberration. “They will be much more wide open than in the Cowher era.”

49ers-Rams

St. Louis will be without seven time Pro Bowl tackle Orlando Pace, who is out for the year with a shoulder injury.

Texans-Panthers

Home field advantage? Carolina has not won a home opener since 2003 and went only 4-4 overall straight up at home last year.

Vikings-Lions

Lions starting running back Kevin Jones has been limited with a foot injury. We expect capable backup Tatum Bell to get the start as he did last week. Likewise Minnesota running back Chester Taylor is questionable to doubtful. However Jeff Warnick of BettorsAdvice.com believes this could be a blessing in disguise. “His backup Adrian Peterson is the NFL’s next star”. Histoy says don’t get too excited about Detroit’s win as they’ve won their opener four of the last five years, yet finished 3-13 last year for their sixth straight losing season. Minnesota has won all five of their games at Ford Field, where Detroit was just 2-6 last year.

Raiders-Broncos

Raiders shaky starting quarterback Josh McCown did not practice Wednesday because of a broken finger. It isn’t likely to shake up the line much, but we look for Dante Culpepper to get the nod.

West Virginia-Maryland Beat the Betting Line

Maryland gets their first real test of the year as they host the Mountaineers from West Virginia. BetUs Sportsbook has West Virginia as a 16.5 point favorite with a total of 65.

Each team is 2-0. West Virginia disposed of Western Michigan and exploded in the second half to thrash Marshall.

Maryland, to say the least, had a pair of tune-ups with easy wins over Villanova and Florida International.

First half bettors will want to note that WVU is only outscoring their first two opponents by 17-13.5 in the first half. Former California Vulcan Jeff Casteel is the defensive coordinator at West Virginia and must improve on a defense that is allowing 4.8 yards per pass.

The Mountaineers have won the last three in the series, by 21, 12 and three in reverse chronological order. However, Terps coach Ralph Friedgen has a 4-3 overall edge over Rich Rodriquez.

Look for short, high-percentage passes from Maryland. Signal caller Jordan Steffy has completed 74 percent of his passes. Deep threat Darrius Heyward-Bey will keep the defense honest. He will test the porous WVU secondary with his 4.23 40-yard dash speed.

Joe Duffy’s GodsTips is undefeated with college football totals this year and has a Wise Guy play on the total. Piping hot Kal Elner has the biggest bet in the sports gaming industry on the side available through the MasterLockLine. Get these and all the top sports service best bets at OffshoreInsiders.com

Some computer betting trends show that West Virginia is 21-9 to the sportsbooks after a game in which they committed no turnovers. Conversely they are only 6-17 against the spread to the ACC including 2-10 their last 12.

West Virginia is a sensational 41-17 in the wallet after a game in which they rushed for 200 or more yards. Maryland is just 9-20, according to the pointspread, as a double digit dog. They are also just 1-6 if they allowed less than 20 points in their last game.

Sports Betting College Football News and Notes

Joe Duffy, CEO of OffshoreInsiders.com takes a look at early week sports betting news and notes for this week’s games.

Tennessee-Florida

Florida will be without their most experienced playmaker as senior receiver Andre Caldwell is out. Caldwell was a first-team preseason All-SEC selection. Sophomore Riley Cooper gets the start.

Duke-Northwestern

The betting line will be affected based on the injury updates on Northwestern star running back Tyrell Sutton. Sutton was icing his ankle after injuring it Saturday against Nevada. He did return briefly after the injury, but then sat out the remainder of the game.

Pittsburgh-Michigan State

Pittsburgh lost starting defensive tackle Gus Mustakas to a torn ACL. He joins the following players lost since the beginning of training camp: All-Big East receiver Derek Kinder as well as tailback Kevin Collier, offensive lineman Chris Jacobson, and quarterback Bill Stull.

A great run stopper, Mustakas will be missed as MSU has 335 yards rushing to the Panthers last season. Two redshirt sophomores Tommie Duhart and Mick Williams will take his place.

Ohio-Virginia Tech

Not only did Tech look sluggish in a season opening win at home to East Carolina, but they were humiliated Saturday on national television losing to LSU 48-7. Sources close to Mike Godsey, Senior Sports Handicapper of GodsTips, say that Hokies quarterback Sean Glennon is completely unnerved. The starter from last year who led V Tech to 10 wins was pulled midway through the second quarter against LSU.

Head coach Frank Beamer has declined to name a quarterback starter for Saturday. Freshman blue chipper Tyrod Taylor started out slowly but played well
