Yankees Most Wagers and Money to Win World Series; Updated CWS Odds

The New York Yankees might not be America’s Team, but they could be called the Gamblers’ Team.

According to data released by SportsBetting on Tuesday, the Yankees are the most wagered on team in Major League Baseball.

“As far as daily and weekly handle, the Yankees dominate the action,” SportsBetting.ag head linesman Robert Cooper said. “The Yankees are the Cowboys of baseball. They attract more bets and more money from the betting community than any other team, and it’s not even close.”

SportsBetting provided data for the three teams with the largest amount of bets and largest amount of money wagered on their World Series odds. The Yankees showed up on both lists, but they aren’t the only team to do so.

Here’s the World Series betting breakdown so far this season:

Teams with most bets taken:
1. New York Yankees
2. Philadelphia Phillies
3. Los Angeles Dodgers

Teams with most money wagered:
1. New York Yankees
2. Los Angeles Dodgers
3. Houston Astros

As far as teams bettors have no interest in backing, the Blue Jays have the dubious distinction of showing up on both lists:

Teams with fewest bets taken:
1. Toronto Blue Jays
2. Arizona Diamondbacks
3. Pittsburgh Pirates

Teams with least money wagered:
1. Miami Marlins
2. Toronto Blue Jays
3. Detroit Tigers

Series Odds Adjusted Off Duran Injury, Warriors Win

SportsBetting has updated its NBA Finals odds following last night’s Game 5 at Toronto.

The Warriors opened as 3-point underdogs going into the elimination game, but were -1 by tipoff due to the reaction from bettors and the books’ adjustment with Kevin Durant back in the lineup. SportsBetting.ag has stated multiple times throughout the playoffs that Durant is worth 3-4 points to a spread in this situation.

NBA series odds updated off Durant injury

The line for Game 6 is Golden State -3.5, and if Durant was healthy the book suggested the spread would be 6-7 points in favor of the Warriors.

The Warriors were the largest underdog they’d been since May 25, 2016 going into Game 5, with their championship odds better than 5/1. But as with the game line, those series odds plummeted to +330 when Durant was confirmed for the starting lineup.

Following the Game 5 victory, the Warriors’ odds have dropped again, but not as much as one might project. The “Durant Effect” is clearly a key factor.

Toronto Raptors  1/3  (-300)

Another Historic Winning Day, Did You Miss This?

Were you on the outside looking in on this historic day? My exact words this morning, “It is almost never. I mean never that we have two Games/Totals of the Year in the same day, but today is very special. Unlock the reasons why now.” How did it work out?

MLB

Wise Guy

White Sox-Kansas City UNDER 8.5 (Giolito-Keller)

AL Central Total of the Year

Substantial under based on season-to-date extra base hits goes under a stunning 220-82. When a math total has a large enough difference to the posted total, we use the oddsmakers knowledge against them. Because we store each over and under differently in each sport, the over and under angles will have different records, but in reality one could combine them for an overall record.  The under version goes under at a rate of 2675-2143-259.

PHILADELPHIA (PIVETTA -121) Cincinnati (Roark)

Saturday NL Game of the Year

Pitcher with much worse ERA is a very good bet. This is a clear regression to the mean angle to the tune of +325.53. Superior home team with inferior pitcher is +118.48. When both apply, the ROI is 16.5 at +88.5 units. When the team is a Saturday home favorite, the ROI is a stunning 34.7.

Game 5 NBA Finals Odds Posted Warriors vs. Raptors

Bet Now has posted odds for Game 5 of the NBA Finals. The Toronto Raptors are -2.5 to bring the NBA Championship to #WeTheNorth on Monday night. The total is 212. OffshoreInsiders.com will have the winner and follow the Twitter sports betting feed for breaking gambling, sports handicapping, and wagering intel including free sports picks and information.
