NFL Majors plus an NFL Wise Guy.
No handicapper dominates any sport the
way Godspicks.com does the NFL.
Godspicks finished the preseason with a sweep and started the regular season
with a sweep of Wise Guy on Steelers-over and a Major on Pittsburgh.  Wise Guy plays from Godspicks are widely
accepted by high rollers, bookmakers, linesmakers, and fellow handicappers as
the biggest play in the handicapping abyss.

NFL

CINCINNATI +2 Kansas
City

KC has gone from one of the best head coaches in the
league to one of the worst.  Hiring
Herman Edwards makes no sense at all the Chiefs will pay. Larry Johnson says
the Bengals have bitter memories from last year. KC held a 30-3 lead in the
final three minutes but still chucking passes into the end zone, and hitting
one.

“It left a bad taste in our mouth,” said Johnson. “Nobody’s
forgotten that game.” Now eight months later and buoyed by Carson Palmer’s
remarkable recovery from reconstructive knee surgery, the Bengals will open the
season Sunday in the very stadium and against the very team that mauled them
37-3 in last year’s regular-season finale.

The Chiefs had already been shut out of the playoffs
because of Pittsburgh’s victory
that day over Detroit. But in Dick
Vermeil’s final game as head coach, they wanted to see Trent Green get 4,000
yards passing and Larry Johnson erase the team rushing record. So they kept
pouring on the fire and, at the Bengals’ expense, both did. Green’s 4,014 yards
made him the fourth quarterback in NFL history to post three consecutive
4,000-yard seasons. Johnson had 201 yards and three TDs
and a team-record 1,750 yards.

“We’ve had this game marked on our calendar for a year,”
said Johnson. “We’re looking forward to going out there and putting on a great
show.” The Bengals, for the third straight year, also return every offensive
starter. Acquisitions of massive defensive tackle Sam Adams and safety Dexter
Jackson could strengthen a defense that gave up almost 400 yards a game.

Our research shows there is little correlation between how
a team does in the preseason and how they do during the regular season, though
it has some benefit to seeing how teams will do on opening day.  Hence the fact Cincinnati
won all four preseason games is a good sign. Let everyone tell you how great KC
is at home.  The fact is they’ve lost
four of their last six home openers SU.

Guys, OffshoreInsiders.com
has a tone of big plays up for Saturday led by Stevie Vincent’s Level 5 plays,
both on the Ohio State-Texas games including an Inner Circle on the site.  Details OffshoreInsiders.com

Weather

Most games have some chance of rain actually.

Colorado-Colorado State:
80 percent chance of rain

The following all have 40 percent

Eastern Michigan-Michigan State

Louisiana
Lafayette-Texas A&M

Ohio State-Texas

Texas Tech-UTEP

Tulane-Houston

CFB

Clemson-Boston College

Boston Globe

After sitting out Tuesday’s practice, junior quarterback Matt Ryan
donned the pads Wednesday and went to work for the first time since injuring
his left ankle in last Thursday night’s season-opening 31-24 victory at Central
Michigan. As was the case last season, when the Eagles went to Clemson looking
for their first ACC victory with a backup in place of injured starting
quarterback Quinton
Porter
(ankle), Ryan’s status remained up in the air after
coach Tom O’Brien
indicated during a teleconference yesterday it would be “a game-time decision.”
If Ryan is unable to play, BC will turn to Chris Crane, a 6-foot-4-inch, 232-pound sophomore
from Mechanicsburg, Pa.

Georgia-South Carolina

Macon Telegraph

It’s been three years since A.J. Bryant felt like himself. Georgia’s junior wide receiver will
get a chance to feel that way again Saturday night against South
Carolina
. Bryant, a junior, and Mario Raley
have been moved into the Bulldogs’ starting lineup in place of Mohamed Massaquoi
and Kenneth Harris. Massaquoi and Harris slipped slightly in their catching,
route-running, assignments and effort against Western Kentucky,
wide receivers coach John Eason
said, enough so that he thought they needed a little motivation. Bet now through the Greek, home of the 21 percent sign up bonus

Middle Tennessee State-Maryland

Cy McMormick MasterLockLine.com

Maryland is
very thin at wide receiver. They are young and have looked horrible in
practice. Check out the approved sportsbooks at www.linetrackers.com

Central Florida-Florida

Miami Herald

Former Coral Gables Miami standout Steven Harris should play against Central Florida
on Saturday, coach Urban Meyer
said. Meyer also expects to play defensive tackle Marcus Thomas, who was suspended for the season opener.”They’ll play unless [something else happens],”
Meyer said. “Let’s see how their behavior is.” Harris, who started at defensive
tackle all of last season, had missed most of spring camp because of poor
grades and because of fathering three children. Tailback DeShawn Wynn (neck) has been upgraded from questionable to probable. The
members of Florida’s 2005-06 men’s basketball team will receive their
championship rings before the Central Florida game
Saturday. Bet the NFL now
at -107 juice! Check out the latest odds at CanBet.

Eastern Michigan-Michigan State

Detroit News

The Spartans’ running game was sporadic in last week’s
opener against Idaho. Ringer
gained 70 yards on 16 carries and Caulcrick 50 yards
on 12 carries. But they are expected to provide an effective one-two punch,
assuming a revamped offensive line opens enough holes for them. MSU plays host to Eastern Michigan
on Saturday. After an overall lackluster performance against Idaho,
the Spartans’ offensive line needs to assert itself more against a so-called
inferior opponent. The line has three new starters with sophomore Roland Martin
at right guard, sophomore Jesse Miller at right tackle and junior Pete Clifford
at left guard. The two returning starters have switched positions—senior Kyle
Cook from left guard to center and Mike Gyetvai from
right tackle to left tackle. This unit is going to be a work in progress
because of these changes. The sooner it develops under assistant Jeff Stoutland, the faster the Spartans can take full advantage
of their weapons at the skill positions. Michigan
State’s biggest concern defensively is containing the running ability of Eastern
Michigan
quarterback Tyler Jones, a 6-foot-2, 225-pound sophomore
from Belleville. Jones ran for 164
yards on 22 carries in an opening loss at Ball
State
. He lines up in the shotgun
most of the time in an offense that resembles Northwestern’s.  Bet now through the Greek, home of the 21 percent sign up bonus

Colorado State-Colorado

Denver Post

Colorado State
coaches insisted Wednesday that felony theft and forgery charges against three
team members did not adversely affect practice or preparations for Saturday’s
Rocky Mountain Showdown with Colorado.

For one of the few times during CSU coach Sonny Lubick’s 14-year career, there were no mid-week interviews
permitted with players. “You look in their eyes and they are ready to play,” Lubick said. Backup cornerback Robert Herbert and redshirt
freshmen cornerback Micah Crews and defensive lineman Brian Abata
were suspended indefinitely. Herbert, who was demoted as a starter midway
through preseason camp, also lost his kickoff-return duties after fumbling the
opening third-quarter kickoff last Saturday. Lubick
said he did not know if an ongoing investigation had affected Herbert’s play.  Check out the approved sportsbooks at www.linetrackers.com

Washington-Oklahoma

News Tribune

Eliminate two tight ends and the offense is bound to
suffer. How much is the question. The University of Washington football team
faces a tight end shortage for Saturday’s game at 10th-ranked
Oklahoma because two of team’s top three tight ends – Michael Gottlieb has a
broken hand and Rob Evans a broken foot – won’t play. UW coach Tyrone
Willingham said the biggest impact will be on the running game. Oklahoma’s
offense may have some new formations and a few more plays than it showed in its
opening game against Alabama-Birmingham. But whatever the Sooners throw at the
Huskies, it probably won’t be as radical as what San
Jose
State
did
last week in UW’s season opener. The Spartans came out in a spread offense,
something they had not shown last season. The new offense made for some
scrambling in the early going, UW defensive coordinator Kent Baer said. The
Sooners are expected to feature the run with talented tailback Adrian Peterson
for at least two reasons. One, Peterson is good. Two, running the ball takes
the pressure off quarterback-turned-receiver-turned-quarterback Paul Thompson.
Defensive lineman Greyson Gunheim
said knowing the opponent’s tendencies, even one as formidable as the Sooners,
makes stopping them a little easier.  Bet now through the Greek, home of the 21 percent sign up bonus

CFB

BOSTON COLLEGE
+3 Clemson

BC quarterback Matt Ryan has practiced late in the week
and word is that he should play.  Frankly
this is not a definite as we file this, but we believe he will play and a good
middle opportunity will be available come gametime.  Ryan is 6-1 SU as a starter.

He sprained his ankle during the game last week and stayed
in. Ryan stayed in the game and did just fine, throwing for 323 yards and three
touchdowns in the Eagles’ 31-24 victory.

Ryan also demonstrated his toughness in a game against
Clemson last season. He returned after a head-rattling hit from Tigers
linebacker David Dunham and eventually led BC to a 16-13 overtime win.

Don’t get too excited yet about Clemson’s recruiting
class, they will have some bumps in the road and here is their fist big
test.  Bet the NFL now at -107 juice! Check out the latest odds at CanBet.

MLB

PITTSBURGH (SNELL +125) Cincinnati
(Lohse)

The Pirates are playing well, winning 10-of-16. The Reds
are 2-10 their last 12 and have pretty much faded out of the NL Wild Card race.
Pittsburgh is 13-45 on the road
when Ian Snell does NOT start.  However
they are 8-6 with him on the highway. Snell in fact has some of the more
interesting splits in baseball.  His home
ERA is 5.77, but on the road it’s 3.96.
Kyle Lohse is pretty bad all around, but his
6.49 home is even worse than his 6.04 overall ERA
