Eagles vs. Bengals Preseason Week 2 Odds Alert

This week’s NFL schedule features a matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Cincinnati Bengals. The NFL predictions experts at Sportsbook have posted the odds on this game at Philadelphia -3.

The most beneficial line on the favorites is at BetUs online sportsbook where the Eagles are laying three but getting back 105.

The Bengals have an extra game under their belt because of the Hall-of-Fame Game. Cincinnati is 1-1 straight up, the Eagles 1-0 in the preseason. Philadelphia will be without three key offensive linemen. Philadelphia is 5-4 outright in the preseason series.

For those who prefer the underdog Bodog Sportsbook has the Bengals +3 -105.

Professional gamblers, who use power ratings, have the NFL power line at Philadelphia -2.5, giving an edge slightly to Cincinnati.

Betting picks and predictions: Super profits from superstars. The pro bettors at ScoresOddsPicks are now 12-6 in NFLX. Make it 13-6 with the Bengals vs. Eagles side. Click now to purchase

NFL Fantasy Football Breakouts

What is a breakout in fantasy football?

It’s not a dominant rookie. It’s not a veteran like Brett Favre who squeezes out one last good season. It’s a guy who has been around for a while and finally tears down whatever obstacle was holding him back.

Maybe he gets a new coach; maybe he gets into better shape; maybe changes teams; maybe he finally gets a starting job. Most commonly, he was already on the path to stardom and it’s just time to take the next step. For many different reasons, sports betting sharps see guys explode ever year.

Here are my top 10 fantasy breakout picks for 2010.

10. Pierre Garcon, WR, Colts

Everybody loves this guy. Garcon is tough, fast, and a good route runner. He’s already drawn comparisons to Hines Ward and he’s established himself as Peyton Manning’s No. 2 target. The last guy to lock down an unquestioned No. 2 role with the Colts: Reggie Wayne.

9. Arian Foster, RB, Texans

A week ago, Foster was more sleeper than breakout guy. But his role has rapidly expanded in Houston now that Ben Tate landed on injured reserve. Foster could touch the ball 15-plus times a game and be a good RB2 at worst.

8. Chris “Beanie” Wells, RB, Cardinals

Tim Hightower’s presence on passing downs keeps Wells lower on my breakout list but the Cardinals are committed to running the ball more with Kurt Warner gone. Arizona’s NFL futures aren’t appealing but Beanie Wells is.

7. Johnny Knox, WR, Bears

Mad Mike Martz’s crazy passing attack benefits guys who can get vertical in a hurry. Johnny Knox fits the bill and reports from Bears camp say Jay Cutler locks onto him more than he does any other receiver. That’ screams breakout to me.

6. Knowshon Moreno, RB, Broncos

With Brandon Marshall gone, Josh McDaniels will shift Denver’s focus to the running game. Moreno is a versatile back who can play every down. He flirted with 1,000 yards last year and should eclipse that number this year. You’ll hear his name pop up in many a sports betting podcast.

5. Jermichael Finley, TE, Packers

Looking at Finley’s second-half numbers last year, he technically already broke out. He performed at an Antonio Gates-like clip down the stretch, establishing himself as Aaron Rodgers’ favorite target. Because his numbers reflect only a half-season of dominance, you may get him cheap one last time this year.

4. Joe Flacco, QB, Ravens

Flacco’s development looks like a nice, steady curve. He improved in his second season, did a good job protecting the ball and topped 20 touchdowns. He has a great offensive co-ordinator in Cam Cameron and exciting new receivers in Anquan Boldin and Donte Stallworth. A 4,000-yard, 25-touchdown season is possible or maybe even probable.

3. Rashard Mendenhall, RB, Steelers

Remember – breakouts can sometimes be obvious. NFL betting experts and fantasy players are so certain of Mendenhall’s success as a 20-carry back this year that he’s creeping into the first round of almost every fantasy draft. He’s the real deal.

2. Shonn Greene, RB, Jets

Mendenhall has less competition for carries but New York’s Shonn Greene has higher upside. He can’t catch a pass to save his life but he’s an explosive, angry runner who could bulldoze his way to huge touchdown totals. He could be the next Larry Johnson or Michael Turner type.

1. Kevin Kolb, QB, Eagles

Breakout picks are often polarizing and Kevin Kolb is just that. Some people think it’s ridiculous to see Kolb ranked around the top eight quarterbacks on so many draft boards when you can count his NFL starts on one hand. But if you believe in the system, as I do, you believe Andy Reid can make a good (not even great) quarterback into a fantasy star. Kolb will make mistakes but he will throw. And throw. And throw. I think he can explode into QB1 status.

Bills Host Colts Point Spread Line

Sensational sportsbook Bodog previews the Buffalo Bills-Indianapolis Colts.

Listen to the broadcast of this contest on SIRIUS NFL Radio…Every Game, Every Week, Every Where or for last minute tickets, it’s US StubHub.com – The Safe Way to Buy & Sell Tickets Online

Expect Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts’ starters to play the full first quarter tonight as they visit the Buffalo Bills in Toronto for the teams’ second preseason game. Proving that this is indeed the preseason, Buffalo is actually a 3.5-point favorite on Bodog’s NFL odds.

A few Indy regulars won’t play. Center Jeff Saturday remains out following surgery while left tackle Charlie Johnson won’t play due to an ankle injury. Receiver Pierre Garcon and tight end Dallas Clark also are nursing minor injuries and won’t play. Colts coach Jim Caldwell said oft-injured safety Bob Sanders will play but did not specify how long.

The Colts lost their preseason opener, 37-17, to the 49ers last weekend, but Indy led 10-0 after the first quarter and the first-team Colts defense limited the 49ers to 11 yards on their first two possessions. The No. 1 defense has a goal of not allowing a score this preseason. One big negative from that game was backup QB Curtis Painter, who had three picks and botched a handoff.

Of course the Bills have been playing a regular-season game in Toronto the past few years, with that city just 102 miles from Buffalo. Here’s a stunning stat: The last time the Bills’ first-string offense scored a touchdown in a preseason game was the last time they played the Colts on Aug. 24, 2008. And that offense will be missing injured running backs Fred Jackson and Marshawn Lynch tonight.

Buffalo’s starters on offense and defense are expected to see slightly more time than they did in the first preseason game, so they could play as much as a half. Expected to see the most work is top draft pick C.J. Spiller with Jackson and Lynch out. Brian Brohm will get the majority of time at No. 2 QB ahead of Ryan Fitzpatrick; Brohm didn’t play in the 42-17 loss to Washington. Thus Fitzpatrick probably won’t play tonight. For sure out is second-year safety Jairus Byrd, who has a groin injury and is likely out for the preseason.

Rounding out the Roundup . . .

The PGA Tour hits the links at Sedgefield Country Club in Greensboro on Thursday for the Wyndham Championship, with golfers getting their last chance to qualify for the FedExCup playoffs. Justin Leonard is listed at 35/1 to win the tourney.

Finally, there is one game on the WNBA’s schedule for Thursday, with Tulsa at New York. The Shock (5-27 SU, 10-22 ATS) have lost five straight games as they close out their regular season with a whimper; Tulsa was thumped 90-62 in Connecticut last time out. The Liberty (20-11 SU, 17-13-1 ATS) ride a nine-game winning streak into Thursday’s matchup, beating Indiana 78-57 at home in their most recent contest. Don Best Odds Service

For years, in my wagering, whether it was college football betting and getting all the information needed for professional NFL gamblers, I used Don Best odds service.

They were the best for years. As a long-time scorephone announcer, where getting the accurate scores and odds were imperative, we tried Sports Screen, Jim Feist odds and others, but Don Best was the best.

Until now. For the best odds comparisons, I use Sports Options. Now sports gamblers can try them for free with no obligation.  I can personally vouch for them.

Just as the best place for winning football picks is the OffshoreInsiders.com Network, there is a clear-cut choice for premium odds tracking.

I personally recommend them in beating the top rated online sportsbooks.

Professional Gamblers Continue to Exploit Information Age in Sports Betting

“Every sucker and their brother was betting on the New York Giants,” laughed ScoresOddsPicks.com handicapper Brian Kayma, emphasizing the word “sucker”.

But virtually every professional bettor unloaded on the NY Giants. The gap between sharp and square player has never been greater thanks to the information age.

Professional gamblers already were raking in the profits in week 1 of preseason football betting, but the windfall profits continued Monday Night.

The top NFL service ever GodsTips is laughing all the way to the bank.

It’s well known that Wise Guy plays from GodsTips are widely accepted by virtually every bookmaker, Vegas runner, pro bettor, Vegas insider, oddsmaker, and fellow handicappers alike as the strongest pick in sports gambling.

They had a Wise Guy in the NFL and a Wise Guy in MLB. Firs against the NFL odds:

NY GIANTS +2.5 NY Jets

Honestly, I think the Jets protest too much. Off a surprising season, they’ve been on their hard knocks publicity tour. They are talking about making a statement in the new Meadowlands Stadium and not having the indignity of playing in Giants Stadium.

“There’s a lot going on right now with the Jets claiming New York and that it’s their town,” said Giants cornerback Terrell Thomas. “We’re not feeding into that. But at the same time we want to send a message to them that it’s still our town. And it’s going to be our stadium.”

This appears to have the Giants as pumped for a preseason game as they will get. The Jets come into the season overvalued with everything having gone right for them last year. The Giants undervalued off a rough year.

The Giants have had some injuries, but do have good depth. Off their fortuitous year, the Jets don’t have the talent many think.

When motivation the preseason is tough to manufacture, Rex Ryan and company have made a big mistake firing up the Giant.

Now in MLB:

MLB

Wise Guy…

SAN DIEGO (CORREIA -108) Cubs (Gorzelanny)

San Diego is +26.2 units including 15.1 on the road. The reeling Cubs have lost 14-of-18. San Diego has won 6-of-7 +5.6 units. In that span they are hitting .279 with an OBP of    .350.

Oh the Cubs are -28.6 units including -16.3 at home. San Diego has won 14-of-21 with Kevin Correia, who is +9.2 in that span. The Cubs are 6-11 with Tom Gorzelanny -6.6 units.

Padres are 21-5 in their last 26 vs. National League Central, 12-3 in Correia’s last 15 road starts. Cubs are 17-36 in their last 53 games following a win, 3-13 in their last 16 after allowing 5 runs or more in their previous game, 0-7 in their last 7 after scoring 5 runs or more in their previous game.

But that Wise Guy winner was corroborated by the pro gamblers at ScoresOddsPicks.com

New York Giants at New York Jets – Monday, 8:00 p.m. ET

Rex Ryan will play his starters almost the entire first half. I am making a small bet on the Jets on the first half line. But despite their injuries, the Giants have infinitely more depth and will crush the Jets in the second half.

The Giants are deep, very deep at WR and their third team will eat the Jets backups alive. The Jets have nothing behind Mark Sanchez at QB.

The Jets’ bread and butter is defense. They terrorized opposing offenses last year, although the most important player—Darrelle Revis—won’t be in action Monday. The Pro Bowl corner is holding out for a bigger contract. Even without Revis, the Jets “D” is pretty deep, especially in the secondary. Brodney Pool, Dwight Lowery and rookie Kyle Wilson are all capable bodies.

The Jets’ Super Bowl hopes rest largely on Mark Sanchez’s shoulders. The second-year pro needs to make some strides under center, and he can’t blame the team for a lack of weapons. Shonn Green and LaDainian Tomlinson will carry the load in the backfield, and Monday’s game will be NFL betting fans’ first chance to see what “LT” has left in the tank—if anything. The line returns five starters, none of whom missed a game last year. That means things could get a little ugly once they sit, as the back-ups have limited experience working together.

The Giants have developed a pretty solid offense. The receiving corps is deep, highlighted by Steve Smith, Hakeem Nicks and Mario Manningham. They’ll all catch passes from Eli Manning, at least until Manning gives way to Jim Sorgi, the long-time Colts back up. The G-Men are especially interested in how Brandon Jacobs plays. He struggled last year and the team is crossing its fingers for a comeback. Should he falter again, Ahmad Bradshaw and Andre Brown are waiting in the wings.

The defense is going through a transition period. Linebacker Antonio Pierce is gone, a blow both on the field and from a leadership perspective. The secondary should be upgraded with the additions of Antrel Rolle and Deon Grant, not to mention a healthy Aaron Ross. The line is as deep as any unit in the league—it just needs to deliver the production associated with some of the big names (Mathias Kiwanuka, Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck come to mind).

The Jets are certainly the more talented team, but New York is in a bit of disarray right now. Revis’ contract issues have been a distraction and there are a lot of new personalities in the room—Rex Ryan is just trying to get this thing organized. He will, but not in the first game of the year. Take the steadier Giants to cover as 2.5-point underdogs.

I will bet the Giants outright, the Giants in the second half and a small play on the Jets in the first half. But the official pick for clients is the Giants ATS.

The pick: NY Giants ESPN Best Bet of the Year
