Professional Gamblers Continue to Exploit Information Age in Sports Betting

“Every sucker and their brother was betting on the New York Giants,” laughed ScoresOddsPicks.com handicapper Brian Kayma, emphasizing the word “sucker”.

But virtually every professional bettor unloaded on the NY Giants. The gap between sharp and square player has never been greater thanks to the information age.

Professional gamblers already were raking in the profits in week 1 of preseason football betting, but the windfall profits continued Monday Night.

The top NFL service ever GodsTips is laughing all the way to the bank.

It’s well known that Wise Guy plays from GodsTips are widely accepted by virtually every bookmaker, Vegas runner, pro bettor, Vegas insider, oddsmaker, and fellow handicappers alike as the strongest pick in sports gambling.

They had a Wise Guy in the NFL and a Wise Guy in MLB. Firs against the NFL odds:

NY GIANTS +2.5 NY Jets

Honestly, I think the Jets protest too much. Off a surprising season, they’ve been on their hard knocks publicity tour. They are talking about making a statement in the new Meadowlands Stadium and not having the indignity of playing in Giants Stadium.

“There’s a lot going on right now with the Jets claiming New York and that it’s their town,” said Giants cornerback Terrell Thomas. “We’re not feeding into that. But at the same time we want to send a message to them that it’s still our town. And it’s going to be our stadium.”

This appears to have the Giants as pumped for a preseason game as they will get. The Jets come into the season overvalued with everything having gone right for them last year. The Giants undervalued off a rough year.

The Giants have had some injuries, but do have good depth. Off their fortuitous year, the Jets don’t have the talent many think.

When motivation the preseason is tough to manufacture, Rex Ryan and company have made a big mistake firing up the Giant.

Now in MLB:

MLB

Wise Guy…

SAN DIEGO (CORREIA -108) Cubs (Gorzelanny)

San Diego is +26.2 units including 15.1 on the road. The reeling Cubs have lost 14-of-18. San Diego has won 6-of-7 +5.6 units. In that span they are hitting .279 with an OBP of    .350.

Oh the Cubs are -28.6 units including -16.3 at home. San Diego has won 14-of-21 with Kevin Correia, who is +9.2 in that span. The Cubs are 6-11 with Tom Gorzelanny -6.6 units.

Padres are 21-5 in their last 26 vs. National League Central, 12-3 in Correia’s last 15 road starts. Cubs are 17-36 in their last 53 games following a win, 3-13 in their last 16 after allowing 5 runs or more in their previous game, 0-7 in their last 7 after scoring 5 runs or more in their previous game.

But that Wise Guy winner was corroborated by the pro gamblers at ScoresOddsPicks.com

New York Giants at New York Jets – Monday, 8:00 p.m. ET

Rex Ryan will play his starters almost the entire first half. I am making a small bet on the Jets on the first half line. But despite their injuries, the Giants have infinitely more depth and will crush the Jets in the second half.

The Giants are deep, very deep at WR and their third team will eat the Jets backups alive. The Jets have nothing behind Mark Sanchez at QB.

The Jets’ bread and butter is defense. They terrorized opposing offenses last year, although the most important player—Darrelle Revis—won’t be in action Monday. The Pro Bowl corner is holding out for a bigger contract. Even without Revis, the Jets “D” is pretty deep, especially in the secondary. Brodney Pool, Dwight Lowery and rookie Kyle Wilson are all capable bodies.

The Jets’ Super Bowl hopes rest largely on Mark Sanchez’s shoulders. The second-year pro needs to make some strides under center, and he can’t blame the team for a lack of weapons. Shonn Green and LaDainian Tomlinson will carry the load in the backfield, and Monday’s game will be NFL betting fans’ first chance to see what “LT” has left in the tank—if anything. The line returns five starters, none of whom missed a game last year. That means things could get a little ugly once they sit, as the back-ups have limited experience working together.

The Giants have developed a pretty solid offense. The receiving corps is deep, highlighted by Steve Smith, Hakeem Nicks and Mario Manningham. They’ll all catch passes from Eli Manning, at least until Manning gives way to Jim Sorgi, the long-time Colts back up. The G-Men are especially interested in how Brandon Jacobs plays. He struggled last year and the team is crossing its fingers for a comeback. Should he falter again, Ahmad Bradshaw and Andre Brown are waiting in the wings.

The defense is going through a transition period. Linebacker Antonio Pierce is gone, a blow both on the field and from a leadership perspective. The secondary should be upgraded with the additions of Antrel Rolle and Deon Grant, not to mention a healthy Aaron Ross. The line is as deep as any unit in the league—it just needs to deliver the production associated with some of the big names (Mathias Kiwanuka, Osi Umenyiora and Justin Tuck come to mind).

The Jets are certainly the more talented team, but New York is in a bit of disarray right now. Revis’ contract issues have been a distraction and there are a lot of new personalities in the room—Rex Ryan is just trying to get this thing organized. He will, but not in the first game of the year. Take the steadier Giants to cover as 2.5-point underdogs.

I will bet the Giants outright, the Giants in the second half and a small play on the Jets in the first half. But the official pick for clients is the Giants ATS.

The pick: NY Giants ESPN Best Bet of the Year

What Happened to Brandon Lang?

We see that a site has had yet another falling out with a handicapper, this time their marquee name, Brandon Lang. Not as unequivocal as when other handicappers left, but there is still an implication he is not returning for lack of success in beating he Vegas odds

That same site lost their winningest handicapper Matt Rivers when he was wooed away by the premier sports handicappers website OffshoreInsiders.com

It brings up why OffshoreInsiders.com is the No. 1 site for sports service picks. Winningest Football Handicapper Ever Hits Another Game of the Year

Florida humiliating Cincinnati was no surprise for the smartest bettors as the winning sports service of all-time GodsTips said before the game, betting the Gators was literally getting free money.

For the 15th time in 17 years and 20th time in 24 years, wise guy sports bettors are domination the bookmakers, bet it Vegas, local, or offshore sportsbooks.  Grandmaster Sports Handicapper Joe Duffy nailed the Florida Gators and the one and only Bowl Game of the Year, fresh on the heels of the biggest non-BCS bet of the postseason hitting the ESPN Bowl Game of the Year on Virginia Tech over Tennessee.  It made suffering through the Sugar Bowl halftime show worthwhile.

Florida -12.5 at BetUs Sportsbook  over Cincinnati was the Bowl Game of the Year.

This is one of our examples of listening to what the oddsmakers are telling you. An undefeated team is a huge underdog. The bookmakers know what they are doing. True, it did apply to Alabama last year—but if one were to believe it was because the Crimson Tide approached it as a consolation game, the same cannot be said here.

It’s superstar Tim Tebow’s last game and the guy is a leader and a winner. Secondly, the Urban Meyer sabbatical is still enough to win one for the Urban. Also Alabama’s loss last year is a wake-up call for the Gators.

The burden of high expectations really caught up to the Bearcats. Three of their last four wins were by a combined six points and the one exception they beat a mediocre Illinois team at home by 13.

The Bearcats have been able to keep Tony Pike upright this year, but this is the fastest and most athletic defense they’ve seen all year. DE Carlos Dunlap returns for the Gators. Remember that he missed their only straight up loss. He is a projected first-round NFL draft pick.

CBs Joe Haden and Janoris Jackson will bring Cincy WR Mardy Gilyard down to earth.

Cincinnati does not have a lot of talent on defense. Florida will dominate the line of scrimmage and Tebow will exploit the Cats being overmatched by getting them to bite on play action.

We will admit that the Brian Kelley situation is overrated, but all in all his leaving is not a plus for them.

Of course, this was on the heels of Virginia Tech -6 Tennessee at SportsBook as ESPN Postseason Game of the Year. Here was the analysis that professional sports bettors got on this one.

Virginia Tech has been masterful at using the center to double team dominant DT. The Hokies will use that technique to minimize the Vols top DL Dan Williams.

Tennessee QB Jonathan Crompton is not very good and against a defense that allows just 5.7 yards per pass to teams normally getting 7.1, Tennessee is just too one-dimensional. Hokies defensive coordinator Bud Foster will bring pressure from everywhere.

Tech’s offense gets 4.7 yards per rush against teams normally allowing 3.7 and 9.4 yards per pass to 6.7. They have few weaknesses for Lane Kiffin to exploit.

In fact, Tech’s defense is fast, but undersized. That is exactly the type of unit that benefits from the time off to reenergize.

Forensic Sports Handicapping

A revolutionary sports service that experts say will change the landscape of sports betting  is celebrating three plus years of unprecedented winning: Stevie Vincent’s BetOnSports360 which is exclusively part of OffshoreInsiders.com   Stevie Vincent is the forefather of “forensic handicapping” based on the principal of forensic economics.

Already considered the leading authority on probability and statistics as it applies to sports gaming, Vincent took it a step further.  Captivated by a research paper authored by a University of Pennsylvania professor who used forensic economics to argue a significant percentage of college basketball games were fixed, Vincent used data mining software and a web crawler unearthing consistent patterns of when teams were likely to cover or fail to cover the spread.

However, Vincent does not believe the anomalies are evidence of underworld influence, but proof that not only are there distinct patters of when a team will peak and bottom out, but forensic handicapping exploits when oddsmakers overuse recent data resulting in “overlays” or “underlays” (bad lines) by the oddsmakers. He also believes some off lines are intentional in anticipation of predictably inaccurate public perception.

Vincent’s research answers one of handicapping’s great mysteries: how to weigh long term versus short term data. “It depends, but it is now ascertainable how and when to evaluate the fluid variables” asserts Vincent.

In short, forensic handicapping evaluates data and detects the confluence of team, oddsmaker and public tendencies producing an end product being the most scientifically valid sports selections ever.

Vincent is former Executive Editor of the popular scorephone “Tailgate Parties” and has been a consultant to several top sports handicappers

BetOnSports360 on OffshoreInsiders.com takes sports betting into a new age with “forensic handicapping” using ground-breaking techniques employed successfully in other fields.
