for most home wins in a single campaign since the building opened for the
1996-97 season. For the first time since 1980-81, Loyola has been picked to win

NFL

Giants-Jaguars

Journal News

The Jacksonville Jaguars have been one of the league’s
most up-and-down teams. They own the league’s fourth-best overall defense, and
the fifth-best passing defense. And yet, they suffered high-scoring losses to
Washington, 36-30 in overtime, and Houston, 27-7. On the other hand, the
Jaguars (5-4) proved in a 41-0 win over the Jets that they can score points in
bulk. The Giants (6-3), with an offense that has averaged 23.8 points per game
– ninth best in the league – could find themselves in a shootout. The Giants
could go into the game missing six starters, with possibly linebacker Carlos Emmons
(groin) and running back Tiki Barber (thumb) working
at reduced capacity.
