NCAA Football Betting – Big 12 Picks

Colorado Buffaloes @ Oklahoma State Cowboys
Sports Betting Odds: Oklahoma State -19

The Colorado Buffaloes have been brutal this yea and time may be running out for head coach Dan Hawkins. Last week, the Buffaloes shot themselves in the foot once again, coughing up three turnovers and committing 11 penalties en route to a home loss to Iowa State.

They’ll have a shot this Thursday – albeit a slim one – as the Oklahoma State Cowboys, who are still vying for an at-large BCS bid, may be without starting quarterback Zac Robinson (concussion). If Robinson plays and is healthy, this really won’t be much of a contest. If he misses the game, the door opens for the Buffaloes to take advantage.

Regardless of who is at quarterback for Oklahoma State, one issue for Colorado will be stopping the Cowboys rushing attack. Last week against Texas Tech, the Cowboys churned out 243 yards and controlled the ball for 37:20. This is a short week for both teams, which actually hurts the Cowboys more since Robinson needs time to recover.

Keep in mind that while the Buffaloes are finished, the Cowboys could still get an at-large BCS bid if they win against Colorado and then top Oklahoma next week.

Offshore Sportsbook Pick: Oklahoma State -19

Kansas Jayhawks @ Texas Longhorns
College Football Lines: Texas -28

What has happened to the Kansas Jayhawks? Now that the college basketball season is starting, less people will care about the KU football program but some fans have to wonder where it all went wrong. On top of that, the frustrations have boiled over as head coach Mark Mangino is being investigated by the NCAA for improperly contacting some of his players.

If that’s the bad news, the worse news is that the Jayhawks have to go to Texas this week – the No. 2 team in the nation.

The Longhorns have been rolling recently and are coming off a performance where they flattened Baylor. They still have everything to play for and they can’t afford any type of slip up. Meanwhile, the Jayhawks don’t have anything left as far as motivation because they are just 1-5 in Big 12 play and have lost five straight games overall. This should be a relatively easy win for the Longhorns this weekend.

College Football Predictions: Texas -28

OddsShark.com Previews Thursday Night Ledger

Smart online shoppers are beating the Black Friday sales 2009 and professional bettors are destroying the sportsbooks with the most important address since the Gettysburg Address: OffshoreInsiders.com

Today in the Daily Sports Roundup: The Lakers host the Bulls, the Cowboys take on the Buffaloes, and the Dolphins travel north to Carolina to meet the Panthers.

Bad girl Elizabeth Lambert gives a half-hearted attempt to defend her barbaric actions on the soccer pitch claiming—what else: sexism. Nobody would care if the cheap shots were done by a man.

Colliding on the gridiron . . .

The Buffalo Bills are hoping QB Brian Brohm is the answer to their offensive problems as they signed the former Louisville star. Hot rumors have the usual suspects as the next Bills head coach: Mike Shanahan and Bill Cowher.

A pair of sub-.500 teams meet on the NFL gridiron on Thursday night, as
Carolina (4-5 SU, 4-5 ATS) hosts Miami (4-5 SU, 4-5 ATS). The Dolphins managed to pick up a win over Tampa Bay last weekend, edging them 25-23 at home; RB Ronnie Brown is out for Thursday with a foot injury. The Panthers are also coming off a win – they got past Atlanta 28-19 last time out. Oddsmakers have Carolina listed as a 3-point favorite for Thursday, with a total at 42.5 points.

There’s also one college football game on the Thursday schedule, with Colorado at No. 12 Oklahoma State. The Buffaloes (3-7 SU, 5-5 ATS) fell 17-10 at Iowa State last time out, as QB Tyler Hansen went just 18-of-38 for 258 yards passing with one TD and one INT. The ranked Cowboys (8-2 SU, 5-3-1 ATS) are coming off a 24-17 win over Texas Tech, despite Zac Robinson throwing for just 90 yards and one score. Oklahoma State is pegged as an 18.5-point favorite for Thursday.

The founder of forensic sports handicapping Stevie Vincent is 49-26 the last 75. He has the pro football over/under, a Level 5. He has Level 4 and 5 plays in the NCAAF game. Just win like crazy. Stevie’s four-day pick pack is $125. Click now to purchase

Tipping off on the hardwood . . .

The NBA has three games on tap for Thursday, as New Orleans hosts Phoenix, Utah plays in San Antonio, and the Lakers get a visit from the Bulls. Los Angeles (8-3 SU, 4-7 ATS) put an end to its mini-skid on Tuesday night, rolling to a 106-93 win over Detroit. Kobe Bryant led the way with 40 points for the Lakers in that victory, while Andrew Bynum picked up 17 points and 12 boards. Chicago (6-4 SU, 4-6 ATS) won its second straight on Tuesday, getting past the Kings 101-87.

As well, college hoops continues its preseason events on Thursday, most notably with the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic at Madison Square Garden. Syracuse takes on No. 13 California in the first of the night’s matchups, with No. 6 North Carolina vs. No. 15 Ohio State in the later game; the Tar Heels and Buckeyes are a combined 5-0 to start the season. The other ranked matchup on the Thursday slate sees No. 18 Dayton battle No. 21 Georgia Tech in the Puerto Rico Tip-Off.

Taking a trip around the rink . . .

Finally, there are eight games on the NHL schedule for Thursday, with Toronto at Carolina, Boston at Atlanta, Pittsburgh at Ottawa, Phoenix at St. Louis, New Jersey at Nashville, Columbus at Dallas, Tampa Bay at Anaheim, and Chicago at Calgary. The Blackhawks and Flames enter their Thursday matchup with identical 12-5-2 records; Chicago beat San Jose 4-3 in their most recent game, while Calgary is coming off a 3-2 home loss to the Avalanche on Tuesday night.

Today’s Free Pick

What a great night for beating the sportsbooks as the college football odds have Colorado at Oklahoma State and the NFL odds sees the Dolphins at Panthers. Today’s sports picks against the spread is from superstar Matt Rivers. He says go with Eastern Kentucky plus the points at Pittsburgh.

Currently the Panthers are laying 16 at Bodog.

Jamie Dixon is a heck of a coach and will have his Pittsburgh Panthers compete hard in the Big East this season but right now this team is not very good. Pitt just lost a ton of talent and I mean a ton in DeJuan Blair, Levance Fields and Sam Young to name a few. In the early going the struggles are evident as they narrowly beat Wofford by three and in the last game did not cover against a
Binghamton team which is in more disarray than any school in the entire country and is reminiscient of a High School team right now.

Sure being at home is huge and the Panthers are clearly more skilled than Eastern Kentucky but the Colonels do bring back a lot of talent and that definitely means something. Of course Mike Rose and his 20 points per game is gone which hurts but that is about it.

Justin Stommes poured in a game-high 28 points in the easy opening win over a cupcake and tonight will be a test that you know in terms of motivation EKU will be up for.

On the other hand I can’t really see the Panthers treating this game as the end all be all and that could mean they once again go through the motions a bit.

If Pittsburgh comes to play and these guys gel a bit in this thing than we are clearly in some trouble. They are faster and more athletic and overall the far superior team in the building. But after the first two extremely unimpressive performances my money is on a third straight pedestrian effort.
