Updated Odds For President During and After the Vice Presidential Debate

We anticipate most sportsbooks will briefly take down the betting line during the Sarah Plain-Joe Biden debate. However, of course Itrade odds and trading will continue on the political betting odds page.

Grandmaster sports handicapper Joe Duffy said he will phone some offshore contacts and at least take a look at a projected official betting line on President of the US.

Here is everything gamblers need to know for the Thursday card. Let’s start out with college football picks information.

Pittsburgh-South Florida

The Bulls defense ranks fourth in the nation in rushing yards per game, allowing just 58.8. Their All-American DE George Selvie is questionable after missing last week’s game. “Without any question this is the best running team USF has faced all year,” says Brian Gould of ScoresOddsPicks.com. Pitt is led by the 1-2 punch of LeSean McCoy and LaRod Stephens-Howling, who have a combined seven rushing TDs.

There is no doubt which team is likely to cover as this game is Stevie Vincent’s Big East Game of the Decade. Vincent is the founder of the revolutionary forensic sports handicapping, which has turned the betting world on its heels.

Memphis-UAB

Last year the Tigers snapped UAB’s seven-game series winning streak. The Blazers have played a tough schedule including road games at Tennessee and South Carolina. However, they are 1-4 straight up and their only win was to Alabama State. All four losses were by 13 or more.

At least statistically, the Blazers improved on defense. They allowed 568 yards per game and 43 points per game in their first three. Over their last two, they’ve allowed 314 yards per game.

Who to bet on in this game? Authenticated Plays (explanation) are 10-2 in football. Memphis/UAB side is an Authenticated Play on the MasterLockLine at OffshoreInsiders.com

Oregon State-Utah

Bob Warner of Lines-Maker.com says the big question is will the Beavers suffer a letdown after beating top ranked USC last week. OSU whipped Utah 24-7 last year in a game in which the Utes lost QB Brian Johnson last in the first half and RB Matt Asiata in the first quarter.  Darrel Mack, who was planning to redshirt, did not play. However, he would up rushing for 1,204 yards. All three will play for the Utes tonight.

Utah is off the short week, while Oregon State had two additional days rest. The Utes though rested most of their starters in a 37-21 win over Subdivision Weber State. America‘s all-time greatest football service GodsTips, led by Mike Godsey and Grandmaster sports handicapper Joe Duffy says this game is the biggest play of the day in football or baseball.

Now let’s look at the MLB playoffs. We are waiting for one of the bookmakers to post odds on how many stupid pictures of Dennis Eckersley we will have to put up with today on TBS.

White Sox-Rays

Javier Vazquez starts for Chicago having lost three straight starts and posting a 13.50 ERA. Tampa is a shocking 34-3 this season as a sportsbook favorite of 150 or more. The Palehose have won six consecutive road postseason contests.

Brewers-Phillies

CC Sabathia tries to tie the series, but he is pitching on three days rest. His ERA is 0.83 in his last three starts. Brett Myers has an ERA of 7.79 in his last three starts, but is 4-1 career wise to the Brew Crew with a 1.77 ERA.

Milwaukee has lost 15 of their last 18 to squads with a +.5 or better runs per game ratio. The Phillies have won seven straight to the NL Central.

Dodgers-Cubs

The Cubs Carlos Zambrano has a 7.80 ERA in his last three starts. His last three to LA have not been any better, sporting an 0-2 mark with a 7.58 ERA.  The Cubs are 17-3 this year +14.5 units following a loss of four or more runs.

Now other betting events take center stage.

Palin-Biden

It’s debate time for Palin and Biden. This is the World Series of Vice Presidential debates. The political betting odds say that Barack Obama has exploded to a -240 favorite. It is safe to say, all eyes will be on how much the line will move following the debate.

Dancing With the Stars

Brooke Burke is now the favorite at +200 to win, with Warren Sapp a close second at +250. Rumor is that models Joy Sartin and Cassia Riley will lead next year’s cast.

The Amazing Race

Andrew/Dan and Terence/Sarah are +400, but Nick/Starr are the clear cut favorites to win this CBS reality show at +200.

World Series of Poker

Dennis Phillips and Ivan Demidov are the co-favorites according to the Vegas WSOP betting line, but the odds have Peter Eastgate and Scott Montgomery next at +450.

Survivor Gabon

Unlike the other reality shows, the favorites are more clear-cut. Bog Crowley is +200 and Ace Gordon +300, but no other contender is given better than 5-1 betting odds. For all the latest odds and winning picks, check out OffshoreInsiders.com

Thursday Rundown

College football goes head-to-head with another day of baseball playoffs on Thursday. Here’s a glimpse at the six contests (three in each sport) in your Daily Sports Roundup.

The Gridiron Spotlight

The top college football team in action on Thursday night is No. 10 South Florida, who will play host to Pittsburgh. The Bulls are 5-0 so far this season, with their most impressive win coming against then-No. 13 Kansas on September 12 (by a score of 37-34). The Panthers were beaten by Bowling Green in their season opener, but they’ve got the job done since then with wins over Buffalo, Iowa, and Syracuse. South Florida is pegged as a 13.5-point favorite in this contest, with the game’s total sitting at 48 points.

No. 15 Utah will also take to the field on Thursday night; they’ll get a visit from Oregon State. The Utes are 5-0 on the season as well, picking up five straight victories over Michigan, UNLV, Utah State, Air Force, and Weber State. Oregon State is only 2-2 on the season, but they managed to pull off a huge upset versus Southern Cal on September 25. If the Beavers plan on knocking off another ranked team on Thursday night they’ll have to do it as 11.5-point underdogs. The game’s total is set at 53 points.

The final game is a Conference USA dud between 2-3 Memphis and 1-4 UAB. Both the Tigers and the Blazers are looking for their first conference victory of the season, and Memphis is pegged as a 3.5-point road favorite to secure that win. The total sits at 57.

Who to bet on? As is usually the case, GodsTips is the place to go for proven winners. It is possible even more winners will be added Thursday, but we have the biggest college football side for Thursday, plus the top MLB side and the top MLB total and it starts at 3:05 EST. Vice Presidential Debate

Will Sarah Palin prove to Joe Montana of politics or the Wang Chung? Can she come through in the clutch again or is she a one-hit wonder who will eventually replace Elisabeth Hasselbeck on the View? One thing is for sure that all politicos will watch the Vegas betting odds for president, the ultimate precursor to who wins the presidential election.

It will be all Palin all the time. We know Sean Hannity and Anne Coulter will say she walks on water, while Jack Cafferty and Keith Olbermann will attack her personally and relentlessly, but the political betting odds will measure what Main Street America thinks.

Will pro-Obama Gwen Ifill remain the moderator? Of course the Wachovia, Washington Mutual bailout will affect the race, but most political handicappers such as Grandmaster sports handicapper Joe Duffy agree that in recent history no Vice Presidential candidate will affect the election like Sarah Palin.

Other Notable Events

The Rays will host their first-ever postseason contest on Thursday afternoon (2:30pm ET), and they’ll be looking for James Shields (14-8, 3.56 ERA) to pitch them to a victory over the White Sox. Shields’ last real outing came on September 23 against the Orioles, and he picked up a win after allowing just two earned runs over seven innings of work. In his last 10 outings Shields has a 5-1 record with four no-decisions. Javier Vazquez (12-16, 4.67 ERA) will get the start for Chicago, although he hasn’t been effective lately; the righthander has surrendered 18 earned runs and 18 hits over his last 12 innings.

Both National League playoff series continue on Thursday, with Milwaukee at Philadelphia at 6:05pm ET, and the Dodgers at the Cubs at 9:35pm ET. The Brewers will send CC Sabathia (11-2, 1.65 ERA in the NL) to the mound against Brett Myers (10-13, 4.55 ERA). Sabathia has surrendered just two earned runs over his last three starts, and Milwaukee is 8-2 in his last 10 outings. Myers, on the other hand, has been pounded for 14 earned runs over his last two trips to the mound. Still, he pitched well against the Brewers on September 14, allowing two hits in a complete-game victory.

Thursday’s Dodgers/Cubs matchup will feature a duel between Los Angeles‘ Chad Billingsley (16-10, 3.14 ERA) and Chicago‘s Carlos Zambrano (14-6, 3.91 ERA). Billingsley hasn’t been tagged with a loss since August 25, and the Dodgers are 5-1 in his last six trips to the mound. Zambrano threw an impressive no-hitter against the Astros on September 14, but since then he’s been knocked around for 13 earned runs over just 6 1-3 innings of work in a pair of rough starts versus the Cardinals and Mets.

The Rest of the Schedule

Don’t like those half-dozen options above? That’s all you’re going to get on Thursday.

Brewers pitcher Ben Sheets is not on the team’s roster for their NLDS because of his elbow injury . . . Boise State-Louisiana Tech

There are three baseball playoff games and a single college football matchup on the schedule for Wednesday. Here’s a look at those contests in your Daily Sports Roundup.

The Gridiron Spotlight

There is just one college football game on the schedule for Wednesday night – and that’s Louisiana Tech at No. 17 Boise State. The Broncos are coming off a big 37-32 win over Oregon on September 20 that moved them to 3-0 on the season (they also beat Idaho State and Bowling Green). Louisiana Tech has managed to get past both Mississippi State and Southeastern Louisiana, but they were outclassed when they ran into Kansas back on September 6 – the Bulldogs were blanked 29-0 in that contest.

The oddsmakers fully expect Louisiana Tech to get crushed by a ranked team once again on Wednesday – they’re big 22.5-point underdogs against the unbeaten Broncos. The top football betting service of all time is GodsTips, anchor of OffshoreInsiders.com. They have the side selection on this game plus a night MLB winner. These plays are just $17. Other Notable Events

With the AL Central sideshows of Monday and Tuesday now in the books we get to start watching some real playoff action on Wednesday. Both National League Division Series get going on Wednesday, while the Red Sox and Angels hook up in some AL action.

The matchups in the Senior Circuit are Milwaukee at Philadelphia, and the Dodgers at the Cubs. Game 1 of the Brewers/Phillies series (3:05pm ET) will feature a pitching battle between Yovani Gallardo (0-0, 1.88 ERA) and Cole Hamels (14-10, 3.09 ERA). Gallardo made his long-awaited return from injury on September 25, holding the Pirates to one earned run over four innings of work. Hamels is coming off a loss to the Braves, but he’s held the opposition to two or fewer earned runs in nine of his last 10 starts.

In the opener of the Dodgers/Cubs series (6:35pm ET) itll be Derek Lowe (14-11, 3.24 ERA) vs. Ryan Dempster (17-6, 2.96 ERA). Lowe has given up just two earned runs over his last 36 1-3 innings of work, and he’s 6-1 with three no-decisions in his last 10 outings. Dempster gave up just one earned run over five innings in each of last two starts, and he’s allowed three or fewer earned runs in nine of his past 10 mound trips.

Over in the AL the Red Sox/Angels opener (10:05pm ET) will have Boston’s Jon Lester (16-6, 3.21 ERA) taking on Los Angeles’ John Lackey (12-5, 3.75 ERA). Lester held the Indians to one earned run on two hits over six innings in his last start, and he has four wins in his past five games. Lackey will be looking to bounce back from a pounding at the hands of the Rangers last time out in which he gave up 10 runs in 2 2-3 innings.

All of the home teams are pegged as the favorites for Wednesday’s games; the Phillies and Hamels are at -200, while the Cubs are at -159, and the Angels are now at -117.
