Sportsbook Lines on Andrew Luck’s Return, Adjusted Colts Point Spread, Super Bowl Odds

Andrew Luck’s decision to retire has had a major impact on the Vegas side of sports.

The Colts’ Super Bowl, AFC, division and playoff odds took a major hit as SportsBetting adjusted and reposted its numbers Sunday morning.

Additionally, the Colts were 3-point underdogs at the Chargers in Week 1 and now they are 7.5-point dogs. Their regular season victory total also dipped by three.

Indianapolis was one of the favorites going into the season, having the fifth-best odds to hoist the Lombardi Trophy. But the change at quarterback from Luck to Jacoby Brissett moved the odds significantly.

Super Bowl – Colts go from 16-1 to 50-1

Conference – Colts go from 8-1 to 25-1

AFC South – Colts go from 1-1 to 9-2

Make playoffs – Colts go from 1-2 to 4-1

Season win total – Colts go from 9.5 to 6.5

Jacoby Brissett – Over/under for total starts set at 10.5

AFC South odds
Houston Texans  -125
Jacksonville Jaguars  +150
Tennessee Titans  +210
Indianapolis Colts  +400
(Prior to Texans were +250, Titans +450 and Jags +500)

While still a darkhorse to return to football, the oddsmakers are giving Luck a better chance of coming back next year instead of this year.

Will Andrew Luck play during 2019 regular season?
Yes  7-1
No  1-15

Will Andrew Luck play during 2020 regular season?
Yes  5-1
No  1-10

And the odds strongly suggest Peyton Manning is a longshot to come out of retirement and lead the Colts this season.

Will Peyton Manning play for Indianapolis in 2019?
Yes  5000-1

“The after effects of this shockwave are massive in our industry,” said Adam Burns, head linesman at SportsBetting . “The guy is incredibly smart, and maybe this is the right decision for him, but this is a sad weekend for NFL fans and bettors alike. We lost one of the best.”

Superstar Joe Duffy is again on fire in every sport, even EPL. Do you want to make a fortune betting this football season? OffshoreInsiders.com wll for you.

Tigers Pull Biggest Upset in Decades, World Series Odds Updated

According to data provided by SportsBetting the Detroit Tigers pulled off the biggest baseball upset in the last two decades Wednesday night.

The Houston Astros, who are the current World Series favorites, lost to the Tigers in what was the largest upset dating back to 1999.

Detroit was as high as a +440 underdog at SportsBetting on Wednesday, while the Astros were a -525 favorite, meaning a bettor would have to wager 525 dollars just to win 100.

Less than two weeks ago, the Astros lost to Baltimore as -480 favorites on the road, which, at that time, was the biggest upset since 2007.

The Tigers pulled off the historic win with just two hits, both home runs, versus Justin Verlander in a 2-1 victory.

Sportsbook: Jay Gruden First Coach to Get Fired

Jay Gruden has seemingly been on the hot seat for years, and this season the oddsmakers placed him at the top of the list to be first removed from his NFL head coach position.

SportsBetting set odds for the first head coach to be dismissed via firing, retirement or resignation. Gruden is the favorite while Pat Shurmur comes in a close second, according to the odds.

Going into last season, Dirk Koetter and Hue Jackson were the favorites to be fired first. In 2017, it was Todd Bowles and Chuck Pagano.

The sportsbook also has odds for the Coach of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year.

Sports Betting NFL Odds: AB Retirement, Kaep Signing, QB Battles

According to one sportsbook, Antonio Brown will not retire, Colin Kaepernick will not sign with a team and Daniel Jones will not start for the Giants.

On Monday, the site SportsBetting set odds for a few trending NFL topics, including Brown’s helmet standoff and cryrotherapy injury, the trio of quarterback competitions and Kaepernick’s chances to return to the league. (note: college QB battle odds will be updated later this week)

The oddsmakers are calling AB’s bluff, making his odds to retire 5-1 and his odds to not play in the season opener 3-1. They don’t expect the NFL to have any sympathy regarding his helmet either, setting the odds of him keeping his original headgear at 3-1.

Current odds:

Odds for the three NFL quarterback battles were posted almost two weeks ago, and they haven’t changed much. Bettors initially backed Manning in the Giants’ competition, driving the odds from 1-10 (-1000) to -1500, but after Daniel Jones’ strong preseason performance, bettors took the rookie. Additional prop bets betwen the two QBs are below.

Case Keenum is still the favorite in the Redskins race while Dwayne Haskins is behind Keenum and Colt McCoy.

Ryan Fitzpatrick has moved from a -250 favorite to start over Josh Rosen to -300.

Finally, despite his potential attempt for a comeback, SportsBetting doesn’t foresee a scenario where Kaepernick comes back to the league, setting the odds of him doing so at 2-1.
