The Falcons (2-8 SU, 6-4 ATS) were beaten 24-21 at home by Miami-Ohio last time out, with Matt Schilz throwing for 176 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions for Bowling Green in that game. The Rockets (6-4 SU, 5-5 ATS) are coming off an ugly 65-30 road loss to Northern Illinois in which Terrance Owens passed for 186 yards with two touchdowns and one INT, and Adonis Thomas ran for 152 yards and two scores. The total for that game is listed at 54.

Tipping off on the hardwood . . .

The NBA has 10 games on tap on Wednesday, with Toronto at Philadelphia, Washington at Boston, the Lakers at Detroit, the Clippers at Minnesota, Dallas at New Orleans, Houston at Oklahoma City, New Jersey at Utah, Chicago at San Antonio, New York at Sacramento, and Phoenix at Miami. The Suns (6-4 SU, 5-5 ATS) are riding a three-game winning streak, beating Denver 100-94 at home in their last game on Monday night. Hakim Warrick led the way with 21 points off the bench for Phoenix in that win. The Heat (6-4 SU, 4-6 ATS) are coming off a 109-100 home win over Toronto on Saturday, with Dwyane Wade scoring 31 points and LeBron James adding 23 points.

As well, the college basketball schedule offers up more Preseason NIT contests on Wednesday, along with three standalone game involving ranked teams: Alcorn State at No. 14 Purdue, Northwestern State at No. 19 Memphis, and Utah State at No. 23 BYU. Utah State (1-0 SU, 0-1 ATS) beat Weber State 77-65 at home in their first game of the year, while BYU (1-0 SU, 0-0 ATS) is coming off an 83-56 home win over Fresno State.

Taking a trip around the rink . . .

Finally, there a dozen games on the NHL’s schedule for Wednesday, with Boston at the Rangers, Florida at Atlanta, Ottawa at Carolina, Buffalo at Washington, Tampa Bay at the Islanders, Vancouver at Pittsburgh, St. Louis at Detroit, Anaheim at Minnesota, Chicago at Edmonton, Phoenix at Calgary, Columbus at Los Angeles, and San Jose at Colorado. The 9-5-2 Sharks are coming off a 6-3 home win over the Kings on Monday night, with Patrick Marleau picking up a goal and two assists and Antero Niittymaki making 32 saves. The 9-7-1 Avalanche beat St. Louis 6-3 at home in their last game on Monday, but they fell 4-2 at home to the Sharks when the teams met October 21. Joe Pavelski scored twice for San Jose that game; Chris Stewart had two assists for the Avs.
