Atlanta CB Dunta Robinson has been one of the biggest offseason acquisitions in the NFL, but he is now out with an injury. This is huge against a Falcons defense that was suspect against the pass before they got him.

Atlanta come down to earth is their loss—and our Wise Guy winner—to Philadelphia. Bengals QB Carson Palmer has struggled this season against four or fewer pass-rushers. Palmer has been quite impressive against five or more. But Atlanta’s pass defense has been excellent when it brings added pressure.

So if Atlanta uses their strength, they match up with Palmer’s.

The Falcons have their bye in Week 8, and it looks like they need the time off. Atlanta has played in a lot of close games and didn’t have a very strong effort in Philadelphia last week.  Each of their wins was by six or more, but two of their losses were by a combined five points.

Meanwhile, Cincinnati is coming off its bye and should be invigorated. So bye, bye Atlanta.
