To say the least, we will ride these services for your benefit again this basketball season as we have in previous years.

We tell you year after year and perhaps some just bet on their own! Kal Elner is without any question the top small college basketball and football handicapper ever. Almost nobody disputes that. Yesterday’s Illinois Chicago and Morehead sweep is the lastest proof. Arkansas State/Middle Tennessee State and UL Monroe/Denver

Free Betting Pick: World Baseball Classic Predictions

The World Baseball Classic odds for this year’s event are extremely close, so close in fact that the defending champion is only third in the race for the status of “pre-tournament favorites”. Here is a look at who will dominate the sportsbook odds for the second edition of this event.

The United States and Dominican Republic are co-favorites at +200, and these teams will be aiming to knock out the competition with their bats. Look on either roster, and you’ll see many 30-homer guys from the majors, as well as a couple 40 and 50-homer players as well. Alex Rodriguez will have the world watching him after this offseason’s steroid scandal, but unlike A-Rod’s playoff performances, the slugger should be able to deal with the pressure—assuming a hip cyst doesn’t hold him out. The Americans’ starting pitching has a slight edge over the Dominicans in terms of experience, but both could have some problems in the bullpen, which is extremely important given that starters have a 65-95 pitch-count limit throughout the tourney.

The Japanese are listed at +400 to defend their title, and many are wondering who will be the next great superstar to hail from the “land of the rising sun”. Daisuke Matsuzaka parlayed his MVP performance in the 2006 tournament into a MLB bidding war that eventually landed him in Boston. “Dice-K” is joined by only three other MLB players, but the Japanese had only two in 2006, and look where that landed them.

Other teams for those who bet sports to watch are Cuba at +800, and Venezuela at +1200. Cuba fell to Japan in the 2006 final, and once again they won’t have any MLB representatives on their roster. If there is a team that could break through the top three, it’s Venezuela, even with no Johan Santana. Carlos Zambrano will thrive on the idea of being his country’s ace.

It’s hard to look past the Americans and the Dominicans for the final in this event, and this promises to be an explosive game with lots of offensive. While the Americans have more experience, the thrill of pitching for your country could spark the young Dominican starters. Look for Rodriguez to add a WBC MVP award to his collection, and the Dominican Republic is your World Baseball Classic betting pick.

Wednesday March Madness, Plus NHL and NBA Rundown

For those who didn’t win the Mega Millions and don’t have the time to take advantage of the Jet Blue one-day sale, sports betting continues to be for economic stimuation.

Today in the Daily Sports Roundup: The Panthers try to pounce on the Golden Eagles, the Spurs and Mavs do battle in Dallas, and the Habs meet the Sabres.

Tipping off on the hardwood  . . .

The NBA loads up its schedule for Wednesday night with 10 games on the docket, including two big Western clashes: San Antonio at Dallas, and Houston at Utah. That all-Texas matchup features two teams that are 6-4 in their last 10 outings. However, the Spurs are coming off an easy 106-78 win over the Clippers in their last game, while the Mavs fell 96-87 in Oklahoma City on Monday night.

Eastern leaders Cleveland and Boston will also take to the hardwood on Wednesday, as the Cavaliers host Milwaukee and the Celtics travel south to New Jersey. As well, it’ll be Atlanta at New York, Phoenix at Miami, Washington at Oklahoma City, Golden State at Chicago, and Indiana at Portland, while Memphis will be in Los Angeles to play the Clippers in a battle of NBA weaklings.

American Idol and Dancing with the Stars betting odds…

Reality television shows odds and Vegas betting lines are up for both American Idol 2009 and Dancing With the Stars.

The march toward Madness . . .

No. 3 Pittsburgh will be looking to knock off another ranked team when they host No. 13 Marquette in college hoops action on Wednesday night. The Panthers bounced back from a loss to Providence by knocking off Seton Hall 89-78 in their last outing on Saturday. The Golden Eagles are trying to snap a two-game losing streak, as they’ve picked up back-to-back losses vs. Connecticut and Louisville.

No. 4 Oklahoma will play on the road against No. 15 Missouri in another ranked matchup for Wednesday, while Virginia Tech will get a visit from No. 2 North Carolina. As well, it’ll be No. 5 Memphis at Houston, Seton Hall at No. 6 Louisville, No. 9 Kansas at Texas Tech, Vanderbilt at No. 12 LSU, and Northwestern at No. 19 Purdue. The Boilermakers beat Ohio State last time out.

Taking a trip around the rink . . .

There are just two games on the NHL’s schedule for Wednesday, as most of the league’s teams are focusing on the day’s trade deadline activities. Getting the evening started is a matchup between the Canadiens and Sabres in Buffalo. Montreal edged San Jose for a 3-2 victory in their last game on Saturday night, while Buffalo was held off the scoreboard in a 2-0 loss to the Isles last time out.

The other game on the schedule has Detroit on the road in Colorado to meet the Avalanche. The Red Wings might be well ahead of the Avs in the standings this year, but they’re also 0-3 so far in the season series between the clubs. Their most recent meeting came on February 15, when Colorado rolled to a 6-5 road shootout victory. Jordan Leopold had the game-winning marker in that contest.

Rounding out the Roundup . . .

The National Hockey League trade deadline will pass on Wednesday, with the futures market keeping a close eye on the day’s activities. The Devils got things going a bit early when they acquired useful defenseman Niclas Havelid from the Thrashers on Monday evening in exchange for spare part d-man Anssi Salmela.
