Knicks got the job done here on Monday as a free picks from Matt Rivers. He is among the sports handicappers who have a large Thanksgiving betting weekend in store.
Of course the Colorado Buffaloes are the far superior team when compared with Division 2 Chaminade but what a spot here for the home boys.
The Buffs just played two extremely competitive contests blowing the double digit halftime lead against Gonzaga on Sunday and then falling in overtime yesterday to Arizona. The boys from Boulder probably should have won, or at least could have won, both of those games and been in the Maui finals but with a little bad luck it turns out that they are in the lowest game today playing lowly Chaminade. Can you say letdown?
I mean, come on, playing for a third straight day is difficult enough if you take away the extra session and the heart breaking pair of losses. Meanwhile Chaminade is once again playing with house money and has absolutely nothing to lose but come out loose and just play some hoops.
Of course Corey Higgins will score some points and be unstoppable at times but that should not be enough in the end because of this situation.
The Silverswords did shock Ralph Sampson and Virginia about 25 years ago but that was then and this is now. Chaminade is 6-60 in this tournament throughout the years and loss number 61 is probably on the agenda today but I do see them being able to compete a bit and cover the number.
After two tough tough defeats the Buffs are more than ready to go home and should put in a very pedestrian performance as they get out of dodge with a very unimpressive lone victory here.

NFL betting players dreaming about LeBron James in a Browns uniform? It won’t happen anytime soon as James is busy trying to lead the Cavaliers to an NBA title. Cleveland will head to Detroit on Wednesday to face a troubled Pistons team, and the Cavs will be going for eight wins in a row over their Eastern Conference rivals.
Cavaliers vs Pistons betting – Wednesday, November 25, 8:00 PM ET
The Cavaliers are 8-2 so far in the month of November, and they’ve been missing Shaquille O’Neal for the last five games due to a shoulder injury. The defense, which is a major factor in their online betting chances, is coming along, although they’ve given up 100 points or more in four of their last six games. LeBron James had 25.8 points. 6.8 boards and 6.5 assists in four games against the Pistons last year, while Mo Williams was next with 17.3 points.
The Pistons’ NBA odds are falling due to a five-game losing streak, failing to break 100 points over that time. They’re sorely missing the veteran leadership of Rip Hamilton and Tayshaun Prince, who really hasn’t been the same since he started going head-to-head with James over the last couple of seasons. Detroit is 25th in the league in points scored, and no matter how good their defense is, their NBA odds won’t rise until they can start filling the basket. Their four top scorers against the Cavs last year, Allen Iverson, Hamilton, Rasheed Wallace and Prince, won’t be playing in this game (Iverson and Wallace aren’t even in Detroit anymore).
NBA odds should favor the Cavaliers on the road, as they’ve won seven in a row over the Pistons and three straight in the MotorCity. The Pistons don’t have anyone who can contain James, who has scored 30 or more in seven of his last eight games, and he loves playing against Detroit. Meanwhile, the Pistons will continue to struggle to score points against a Cleveland defense that is starting to get it together. The Cavaliers are a safe sports betting choice on Wednesday night.
There is certainly no shortage of winning college spread picks in football or winners against the college basketball betting odds. Sensational handicapper Matt Rivers has a free sports pick for Tuesday and it is to take the Knicks plus the points. Bodoghas the Lakers -13 at home to New York.
This is such the perfect perfect spot for the Knicks. Everybody on the planet would say how this has all of the makings of a 30 point blowout and I guess it always could. But it is such like the New Yorkers to waltz into Staples and actually compete for 48 minutes against Kobe and the Lakers.
We saw this same scenario a year ago as the Knicks were pretty terrible fairly early on in the season only to go out West and look like a world champion. The season is lost already for Mike D’Antoni’s club but as we knew from the start it’s all about the upcoming off-season and push for LeBron and the other free agents.
The Lakers have been looking great as they just dismantled an improving Oklahoma City squad and have been winning a ton as they usually do. PauGasol is back in the mix for the champs and all in all Phil Jackson’s squad may once again be the best team in the entire NBA. But there is something about this dreadfully underachieving New York squad that every now and then rises up when least expected, just like today.
There is some talent on the Knicks with Lee and Robinson and Gallinari and Hughes and Chandler and a few others. The problem is more of the culture and attitude than anything else. But that should not be a problem here against the champs on the road getting such an exorbitant price back.
If there is ever a game that you will see the Knicks step up and play in this is that spot. Even if I am wrong the number is so big that all sorts of backdoor possibiliities are always out there.
