Andres Iniesta’s injury-time goal saved the Spanish league champions, and they also received some good news as Iniesta, as well as Thierry Henry, trained on Monday and could be available for the final. Still, with Lionel Messi in the lineup, Barca will feel confident against anyone. The young Argentinian leads the competition with eight goals, and he’s also added five assists as he challenges Ronaldo for the title of “best player” in the world.

Projected Los Angeles starter Joe Saunders is 6-2 with a 3.17 ERA, and he tossed seven scoreless innings vs. the Mariners last time out. Chicago‘s Bartolo Colon (2-4, 4.23 ERA) is his opponent.

Pittsburgh rolled over the Canes 6-2 on the road in Game 3 on Saturday night, with Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin combining for three goals and two assists. The oddsmakers like the Penguins’ chances of finishing off this series on Tuesday, as they’ve been pegged as -130 road faves at Bodog Life  (with total at 5.5 at all sportsbooks).

The hockey betting season may end Tuesday night for the Carolina Hurricanes. Down three games to none, they must now attempt a feat only three North American sports teams have accomplished—two in hockey, one in baseball, none in basketball betting—and win four straight. Do they have a hope?

It’s amazing what a week can do to a team’s NHL betting prospects. The Hurricanes looked like the championship team from 2006 over the first two rounds of betting sports, outlasting the Devils and squeaking past the Bruins in a war. In theory, Carolina should at least bounce back and win one game in this hockey betting series, but that won’t happen, and here’s why: first, the Hurricanes have to stop Crosby and Malkin. While that theoretically would happen at least once during a seven-game series, that implies that the Pittsburgh opponent has someone up to the task. The ‘Canes have no true shutdown defender and Rod Brind’Amour at center is a shadow of what he was even two years ago. Carolina simply has no answer and had to win Game 3 to have any confidence in Game 4. This series is over and the Hurricanes know it.
