The Tigers used ace Justin Verlander on Sunday just to get to this game, and now their season rests on the shoulders of a rookie, albeit a rookie who is pitched well since the All-Star break. Porcello is 6-3 in 14 starts with a 3.92 ERA in the second half of the year, but Baker has been even better, going 8-2 in 15 starts with a 3.21 ERA. Detroit really should have had this division wrapped up at least two weeks ago, and they may have used all their bullets just to get here. Today in the Daily Sports Roundup: The Packers head to Minnesota to take on the Vikings and their old quarterback, and the Rangers get set to battle the Devils.

It’ll be Brett Favre vs. the Packers on Monday Night Football as the Vikings play host to their division rivals in the primetime matchup. Undefeated Minnesota (3-0 straight-up, 2-1 against-the-spread) is coming off a 27-24 win over the Niners last weekend. Favre went 24-of-46 for 301 yards passing in that contest with two touchdowns, including a game-winning strike to Greg Lewis with two seconds left on the clock. Adrian Peterson ran for 85 yards on 19 carries in the Week 3 victory.

Green Bay, meanwhile, improved to 2-1 SU (2-1 ATS) on the season with a 36-17 win in St. Louis in Week 3. Aaron Rodgers was good on 13-of-23 pass attempts for 269 yards in that victory, with two touchdowns. Ryan Grant rushed for 99 yards on 26 carries in that game. The oddsmakers, though, have the Packers pegged as 4-point road underdogs for Monday night, with the total for the game at 45.5. Green Bay and Minnesota are both 2-1 on the OVER/UNDER.

The Devils will be looking to bounce back from a 5-2 home loss to the Flyers on Saturday night.
