NCAA Football Betting – Buckeyes, Wolverines In Another Installment Of Massive Rivalry

Sportsbook odds are backing No.10 Ohio State for yet another win over their bitter Big Ten rivals from Michigan, and the Wolverines have a single conference win this year. Can the Wolverines catch the Buckeyes in a trap game?
Ohio State vs Michigan Betting Odds – Saturday, November 21, 12:00 PM ET

The Buckeyes (9-2, 6-1) clinched a spot in the Rose Bowl with a 27-24 overtime win over Iowa at home, and Devin Barclay’s 39-yard field goal was the difference. True to form, Ohio State were conservative offensively as Terrelle Pryor was only 14-of-17 for 93 yards as coach Jim Tressell did not want any turnovers. It paid off because the Buckeyes forced three out of Iowa. With their No.5-ranked defense, the Buckeyes will always be a internet betting consideration in your sportsbook.

The Wolverines (5-6, 1-6) lost 45-24 at Wisconsin for their fourth straight loss, and defensively, Michigan has been terrible lately. The Wolverines have given up an average of 39 points during that time, which will definitely put some sportsbook players off. Tate Forcier actually had a decent game, going 20-of-26 for 188 yards, two touchdowns and a pick, but it won’t make a difference until the Michigan defense gets it together: they allowed 469 yards to Wisconsin, including 229 on the ground.

Online betting odds in your sportsbook are favoring Ohio State by 12.5 points in Ann Arbor, where they’ve won two of their last three trips. Overall, the Buckeyes have dominated their rivals as of late with five straight wins, and that may be the only thing that keeps Tressel in a job, given his BCS struggles. This is the quintessential trap game for Ohio State, who already know what bowl they’re going to. Meanwhile, this means far more to Michigan as coach Rich Rodriguez has people calling for his head, and it’s never good at Michigan to lose so many in a row to the Buckeyes. The Wolverines need to take away the running game and let Pryor carry the load with his arm. Pryor has attempted at least 25 passes in a game five times this year, and two of those ended in losses. Even if the Wolverines don’t win, they’ll cover.

NCAA football picks: Michigan +12.5

Monday Night Football and College Basketball Betting Notes

It’s ESPN Monday Night football between the Ravens and Browns. Sportsbooks have Baltimore as an 11-point favorite with a total of 39. However both the side and total vary at different books.

The professional handicappers have today’s sports picks but now it’s time for the official betting preview. Baltimore is 4-4 straight up and 5-3 against the spread while Cleveland is 1-7 straight up and 3-5 in the back pocket.

Baltimore has a prohibitive advantage in every key category used by football handicappers as they average .7 more yards per rush and 1.6 more yards per pass.

On defense, the Ravens allow 1.4 fewer yards per rush than the Browns and .4 fewer yards per pass.

Against the spread records: The Ravens have covered eight straight versus teams with a losing record yet are just 2-9 their last 11 as road favorites.

The Browns are horrific under just about any parameter. They are 3-12 on grass, 2-9 off a straight up loss and 1-8 following a contest in which they allowed more than 150 rushing yards last game. One angle in Cleveland’s favor is that the home team has covered 8-of-11 in head to head competition.

Handicapping notes: Baltimore should have plenty of reason to make a statement as they enter on a 1-4 straight up skid. Baltimore had the best run defense in the league statistically but they’ve allowed three 100-yard rushers over the last four games.

In the first four games, Baltimore QB Joe Flacco averaged 275 passing yards per game and had eight TDs. In the last four those numbers drop to 235 and four scores.

Brady Quinn resumes as starting QB for Cleveland, with a passer rating of 62.1. He has won one of five career starts.

Top expert pick on this game: World Champion sports handicapper Stevie does what he does: wins in every sport. Remaining two-plus decades ahead of the oddsmakers, this groundbreaking superstar in the handicapping science is now 42-22 the last 64. He’s 10-2 with Level 5.

Other notes of interest in sports betting for today’s card, now to college basketball:

·        St. Mary’s hosts San Diego State and it will be a coming out party for St. Mary’s super frosh Matthew Dellavedova. In his debut against New Mexico State he has 19 points, four assists, a steal and no turnovers

·        Kentucky’s DeAndre Liggins missed both of the Wildcats exhibition games for reasons coach John Calipari would not discuss. He is probable tonight against Miami Ohio. As a freshman he averaged 16 minutes per game and 2.8 assists.

·        Arizona State will not have star recruit Victor Rudd because of eligibility issues. They host Texas State tonight.

Monday Night Pick ATS

Red hot handicapper Matt Rivers say to take LSU minus the points hosting Indiana State.  LSU is -11 at BetUs. Here is why sayeth one of the best basketball handicappers:

College hoops is here and I am ready to attack with a vengeance. In a very small play here I’ll back the home Tigers of LSU.

Trent Johnson did a magnificent job last season in his first year with the program and now has another tall task as a lot of guys moved on. But with Bo Spencer and Tasmin Mitchell along with some younger talent I can’t help but believe this price is too cheap at home against Indiana State.

Larry Bird is long gone and I’m not so sure that Iowa transfer Jake Kelly is going to be all that and especially when up against big-time competition which today will be. Kelly certainly was solid as a Hawkeye averaging over 11 ppg as a sophomore but Iowa was fairly awful and in the end is playing on an Indiana State team that is even worse.

State does not have a true rebounding big man and that more than likely will not work out very well against far superior athletes, such as Mitchell, who can run and jump better than most teams they will see all season long.

The Tigers just outclassed Louisiana Monroe by 20 in the opener behind 20 points from Spencer and in the end tonight I can see a similar result.

Colliding on the gridiron . . .

The Ravens will be looking to get back into the AFC playoff picture on Monday night when they play on the road against the Browns in the primetime matchup. Baltimore (4-4 SU, 5-3 ATS) lost 17-7 in Cincinnati last weekend, with Ray Rice scoring the team’s only touchdown with a two-yard rush in the fourth quarter. Joe Flacco went 18-of-32 for 195 yards passing with no TDs and two INTs in the loss.

Cleveland (1-7 SU, 3-5 ATS) was thumped 30-6 in Chicago in their last contest, with Derek Anderson throwing for 76 yards and getting picked off twice en route to losing his starter’s job. Anderson did account for the team’s lone score in that contest, rushing for a TD in the third quarter. Oddsmakers have the Ravens pegged as 10.5-point favorites for Monday night, with the total listed at 40 points at Bodog.

The top pick for ESPN MNF is World Champion sports handicapper Stevie does what he does: wins in every sport. Remaining two-plus decades ahead of the oddsmakers, this groundbreaking superstar in the handicapping science is now 42-22 the last 64. He’s 10-2 with Level 5.
