Free Picks NFL Week 3

Week 3 NFL trends are up and so are NFL locks week 3. We start out with a free sports pick.

Matt Rivers, who was the winningest handicapper ever—nobody came close—on a large network of sites.

He says your comp winner for Sunday is on the Saints at -3 -120.

As I like to say often this game is far from the lock of my life but the Saints at home are just too cheap at around a field goal. It is going to take a lot for anybody in the NFL to win in New Orleans with that rowdy crowd as the defending champs still having one of the best offenses in the game. Things have not been all that great thus far as the wins against Minnesota and then at San Francisco were not exactly offensive clinics but when Drew Breees needs to make a play he seems to be able to do it at will. Plus great teams find ways to win and that is what this great team has done and should do one more time today.

Reggie Bush is obviously out with the injury but I’m not so sure that is all that terrible for this New Orleans offense. I’m not saying it’s a good thing at all as Bush is a big-time talent for sure but these guys seem to be able to plug in players and are able to be just fine. Thomas and Colston and Henderson and on and on and on just continue to chew up yards, score touchdowns and win games. Today is not going to be easy at all as Mike Smith’s Falcons are very good and easily the second best in the division. Matt Ryan is a stud who is about to become a superstar and Tony Gonzalez, Roddy White and Michael Turner are no joke at all. But 3ish in the Superdome? Come on?

I am looking for a competitive game but I’m hard pressed to believe that the Falcons are going to go on the road and be able to actually win this game in an ultra-hostile environment and that is pretty much what it takes in order to grab that cash. It’s just too cheap.

Who Dat!

The pick: New Orleans Saints -3.

For more information: Matt Rivers says: bang, bang, bang! This past week has been all about smacking the Crookie as usual and nothing at all changes today. Saturday marked yet another phenomenal day and a ton of more pure profit. Now I raise that bar in a monster monster way. Pretty much the biggest play in my arsenal is here in this 500,000* Game of my Life between New York and Miami. A pair of bonus 200,000* in Washington-St. Louis and Detroit-Minnesota.

I feel beyond tremendous right about now and if you have been listening to me you do as well. 3-0 sweep capped off by the late game from Miami. What more could you ever ask for? Click now to purchase

Phil Steele of Northcoast Sports Buries Squares, Sharps Win With UAB

Thanks to Grandmaster Sports Handicapper Joe Duffy, CEO of OffshoreInsiders.com, the top sports betting site in the world, sharp players continue to roll led by Alabama Birmingham this afternoon.

However, thanks to Phil Steele of Northcoast Sports, the sportsbooks recovered some of their losses.

Steele feel into the ultimate sucker bet, gifting the bookmakers with his Game of the Month a Boston College team shut out by the clearly superior Virginia Tech team. “Phil is the nutty professor in handicapping,” said Cy McCormick of the online betting syndicate and the power of 620 sports services behind every selection, the MasterLockLine.  “He had great info, but no idea how to use it.”

Professional gamblers raked in the profits with this report from Joe Duffy of GodsTips.

Wise Guy pick is on:

UAB +14 Tennessee

If this is not a sandwich game, there is not such thing. Tennessee has just played Oregon and Florida, both Top 10 teams. The next two weeks are at LSU and at Georgia. They finally get an off week, then play Alabama.

How the heck can the Vols get all fired up for this game? Now they play a team that is sky high. The Blazers have already proven they can be dangerous with their second-half rally to beat Troy last week on the last play of the game, a 44-yard touchdown pass. They trailed 23-0 in the first half before coming back to win 34-33.

What a building block game for Alabama-Birmingham. Coach Neil Callaway inherited a struggling UAB team low on experience, and the Blazers have gone from winning just two games in 2007, his first year as coach, to winning five games last year.

“I know their two coordinators and their head coach very well, and I have a lot of respect for them,” Dooley said. “They’re four years into their program. This is what you see your fourth year: they’ve got a deep team, they have 17 starters returning and they’ve played in these kind of games so they’re not going to be starry-eyed.”

The Blazers had just 63 scholarship players in 2007, a situation Dooley can commiserate with now. The Vols have 76 scholarship players after awarding a few to walk-on players at the begging of the season.

Several starters are out with injuries, leaving a thin offensive line that’s struggled to both protect Simms and open holes for running backs Tauren Poole and David Oku and an undersized defensive line that couldn’t stop Florida’s passing game.

That doesn’t bode well for facing Ellis, who came off the bench against Troy after starter David Isabelle struggled. Ellis completed 23 of 37 for 360 yards and three touchdowns in three quarters.

Duffy reports that Sunday is the biggest NFL betting card this year.

Stanford vs. Notre Dame NBC Sports Odds and Prediction

Fighting Irish are 17-35 ATS in their last 52 home games, 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games after accumulating more than 450 total yards in their previous game. Irish are 7-2 in the series.

Over/under trends: Over is 7-1 in Cardinal last 8 games overall, under 9-3 versus an opponent with a losing record. Over is 7-0 in Fighting Irish last 7 games as a home underdog of 3.5-10.0.

Latest Odds NCAA Football; WVU vs. LSU Free Picks Sports

It’s time for even more free college football picks including another from ScoresOddsPicks of OffshoreInsiders.com

No. 22 West Virginia at No. 15 LSU (-9.5) – Saturday at 9:00 p.m. ET on ESPN2

So far, so good for LSU coach Les Miles. Supposedly, Miles was under a bit of pressure to take care of business this season, and he’s led his squad to a 3-0 start (2-1 against the spread). That said, the Tigers haven’t faced a legitimate challenge yet this season, unless you count suspension-depleted North Carolina in Week 1. LSU looks fantastic on defense so far, including an impressive 11 sacks. Quarterback is a major source of consternation, however, as Jordan Jefferson is averaging about 120 yards a game.

West Virginia (3-0, 1-1 ATS), meanwhile, is comfortably adapting to its newfound offensive balance. Geno Smith has brought a dynamic the Mountaineers have never seen—he leads the Big East in passing. Throw in explosive back Noel Devine, and you’ve got a great offense. For the most part, the Mountaineers have looked dominant on “D,” racking up a ton of sacks and stuffing the run. They’re prone to lapses, though, as evidenced by touchdown passes of 60, 80 and 96 yards in the past two games.

Neither team has really proved itself yet, but the Mountaineers look very sharp. Devine has rushed for 100 yards in three straight contests yet hasn’t even really asserted himself. West Virginia’s biggest weakness is the explosive pass play—something Jefferson has no hope in exploiting, if history is any indication. Take West Virginia.
