Courtesy of OddsShark.com: Today in the Daily Sports Roundup: South Florida takes on Rutgers on the gridiron, while the Red Wings look for a win in Calgary, and the Rockets play host to the Hornets.

Colliding on the gridiron . . .

South Florida will play host to Rutgers in the only college football game on tap for Wednesday. The Scarlet Knights (4-3 SU, 1-5 ATS) will be looking to bounce back from an ugly 41-21 road loss to Pittsburgh in their last contest. Chas Dodd was held to just 62 yards passing and one interception for Rutgers in that defeat. The Bulls (4-3 SU, 2-4 ATS) are coming off a 38-30 road win over Cincinnati in which B.J. Daniels passed for 286 yards and a pair of scores. Oddsmakers have South Florida as 9.5-point favorites.

Tipping off on the hardwood . . .

A busy night around the NBA on Wednesday has a dozen games on tap: Detroit at Atlanta, Indiana at Philadelphia, Minnesota at Orlando, Charlotte at New Jersey, Milwaukee at Boston, Dallas at Denver, Toronto at Utah, San Antonio at Phoenix, Oklahoma City at the Clippers, Memphis at Golden State, the Lakers at Sacramento, and New Orleans at Houston. The Hornets (3-0 SU, 3-0 ATS) are coming off a 99-90 win in San Antonio on Saturday night in which Chris Paul scored 25 points to go along with seven rebounds. The Rockets (0-3 SU, 1-2 ATS) remained winless by falling 107-94 at home to Denver on Saturday. Luis Scola led the way with 28 points in that defeat.

Matt Rivers has a bombshell. Let me say this, parlays and teasers are flat out for suckers and suckers only and the ‘cappers who give them out a decent number of times are absolute clowns. With that said though there are a few spots a year that I will endorse playing the role of the sucker because every now and then the sucker will win and this is going to be one of those times. I am eating a little chalk in the Association tonight with a pair of favorites and making them just have to win the game in this 300,000* Ultra-rare ML parlay. Bonus 200,000* from the gridirion in the Big East clash between Rutgers and South Florida.

2010 Election predictions? Forget the polls, the best precursor to the results are the sportsbooks odds. According to InTrade, the winners in the most watched races include the Republicans to control the US House of Representatives. Sharron Angle is likely to knock of attack dog Harry Reid in the Nevada Senate Race. Barbara Boxer will retain her seat in California, but bewitching Tea Party candidate Christine O’Donnell has no chance in Delaware.

Rand Paul is heavily favorite to win the Kentucky Senate race, though many say Paul’s support is soft. Republicans though are given little chance to take over the Senate, just a 13.5 percent chance to hold 51 or more seats.

Multiple reports say that Randy Moss final straw was lambasting the Minnesota Vikings choice of caterer. Only mega high Prop 19 supporters will bet the MTSU-Arkansas State game on their own.

ESPN Monday Night Spread

ESPN Monday Night Football betting odds alert has been issued for both the side and total as ScoresOddsPicks has Best Bets on both.

This week’s football schedule includes a contest between the Texans vs. Colts. The Colts are -5 with a total of 51.

OffshoreInsiders.com takes a look at the football betting match-up using key numbers employed by professional gamblers.

In comparing yards per rush on offense, the better numbers belong to Houston by 1.5,

As far as passing yards per completion on the offensive side of the ball, the upper hand is for the Texans by .3.

According to yards per point, the more efficient offense is Houston by .2.

Defensively the more stingy team based on yards per rush is the Texans by .6.

The superior defense in terms of passing yards per completion is Indianapolis by 1.1.

The yards per point statistic used by the best sports handicappers says the superior defense is Indianapolis by 1.8. The Colts have a turnover ratio of two better.

Who to bet on according to the football betting experts against the spread That’s right, six in a row now and counting after the 300,000* Dolphins made me a winner once again. It doesn’t get much easier than Iowa and Oregon on Saturday and I’m feeling really great right after yet another rock solid weekend and ready to absolutely bury that Crookie one more time here on Monday.

All I do is win and if you don’t ride the hot hand than I’m not sure what anybody can do for you. Click now to purchase

Yards per point is determined by diving total yards by number of points. Offensively a lower number is considered more efficient. On defense, a higher number is better.

Free NBA Pick

Matt Rivers says your free pick winner for Monday is on the Bulls -1 at Portland.

Brandon Roy and the Trail Blazers are an extremely talented team that has a chance to make a nice little run this season. They have solid guard play along with bigs assuming Greg Oden can stay healthy. But the road is never easy and this price just seems a little too cheap to me on the home Bulls.

Derrick Rose is a baller and the addition of Carlos Boozer makes Chicago into a quality team from a squad that was as mediocre as they come. I don’t think Chicago overall is as good as Portland but the Blazers are halfway across the country and in the midst of this four game road trip after playing in New York on Saturday. That in itself makes it a difficult situation for the perfect and undefeated 3-0 Blazers to remain that.

There’s no real rocket science with this pick. Rose, Boozer and Joakim Noah should be jacked up for their home opener and there is a chance that the visitors from Portland could be a little tired, even if it’s early on in the season. Plus Portland is still somewhat young and not exactly an upper echelon team that can be trusted just yet in a road spot like this.

We should be a hard fought competitive game between a pair of quality teams and in the end I’ll side with the home Bulls.
