Friday Sportsbook Winner

One of the best football handicappers Matt Rivers has a free winner for Black Friday.

Central Michigan minus the points hosting Northern Illinois.  SportsBook has them laying 13.5.

I certainly do not like how this line has been rising from about 9 all the way to a pair of touchdowns or so. It’s also not great that the Chippewas have punched their ticket into the MAC championship game so this game is relatively meaningless.

BUT at the end of the day and when all is said and done we are talking about the absolute class of the conference and a team that boasts one of the greatest players in the history of the MAC in Dan Lefevour. I’m not saying that the CMU quarterback is the next Ben Roethlisberger or will even have as good of a career in the NFL as Chad Pennington. He also is not going to be as dominant as Randy Moss. But right now in this conference Lefevour is as good as any player we may have ever seen.

The signal caller can destroy opponents with both his arm and his feet and truly has not even had to sweat at home all season long. The Chips are 9-2 this season and won on the road at Michigan State. They are undefeated in the MAC and continue to go north of 50 points on their home field.

Northern Illinois is good at 5-2 in-conference and 7-4 overall and may be the second best team in the conference but the dropoff between these two schools is just crazy. The days of Garrett Wolfe are gone and right now the Huskies are good, not great but good, and most importantly are going into a Hornets nest in an almost impossible situation.

NIU comes in off of that loss to Ohio and in the previous game did not exact look too polished in a pedestrtian six point victory over a bad Ball State team. Of course the visitors will be excited to play the class of the conference and once again a borderline top 25 type team but the task should be too tall and after 60 minutes will drop to 2-4 on the road.

Stopping Central Michigan is pretty much impossible, slowing them down is highly unlikely and in the end 40-20 seems about right.

Raiders vs. Cowboys Spread Pick Free

We cannot end your search for the Butterball turkey cooking times or how to view private Facebook profiles but for anyone searching for the best football picks, the rest of you life has begun.

Matt Rivers says take the Raiders plus the number at Dallas. They are getting 13.5 according to Bodog.

Could the Raiders implode with the best of them at anytime? Sure they could and especially against a Dallas team that can look like a world beater at times.

But I do not mind Oakland’s defense with Nnamdi Asomugha shutting down half of the field and with Jamarcus Russell finally on the bench the Raiders are not the dreadful mess they were with Russell playing. Of course Bruce Gradkowski is no better than average and that is being kind but average is far better than Russell.

The Cowboys looked fairly gross in the 7-6 win last week at home against the Redskins. I won’t take too much from that because I do expect Tony Romo and the Pokes to improve upon that performance but after two straight terrible games on offense (including the loss in Green Bay) I’m not so sure that Wade Phillips’ squad is not mightily overated right now.

Dallas is still somewhat America’s team and Oakland is still identified as the most inept franchise known to man. Neither assessment is wrong but I don’t really believe the Cowboys are an elite team and we saw last week in the outright over Cincinnati how Oakland can be much improved with Gradkowski in at quarterback.

This won’t be a fun game in backing the Raiders as they can lose it and get drilled at the drop of a hat but I’ll make a small play and buy into them today in Big D plus this gargantuan price.
