Rockies-Phillies Weather, Picks, Odds

The Monday Night football Jets-Dolphins spread and picks may be atop the oddsmakers radar screen, but the MLB playoffs are just two hours away from first pitch.

The Philadelphia Phillies are one win away from heading to the National League Championship Series. Game 4 will see temperatures in the low 30s, perhaps upper 20s. Cliff Lee totes the hill for the Phillies and Ubaldo Jimenez for the Rockies. (Expert picks on this game and Monday Night Football)

The Phillies bats enter hitting .313 in the playoffs with a .393 OBP. The Rockies are hitting a pedestrian .255 in the series with a .298 OBP. Cliff Lee is off a complete game six-hit, no walks and one-run effort in Game 1. Colorado has lost 3-of-5 with Jimenez including giving up five earned runs in five innings in the opener of this set.

In 15 home starts, Jimenez has a 3.34 home ERA. The Phillies though are 3-1 to him and Jimenez has a 6.33 ERA and 1.688 WHIP in those games. Colorado is 0-2 to Lee whose ERA is 1.13 with a .813 WHIP.

The Phillies thrive to good pitchers as they are 41-23 the last two years against starters with a 1.250 WHIP or better and they are 30-16 against teams with a winning record this year for +16.3 units.

The same cannot be said for Colorado which is 7-20 this year -13.3 units to NFL teams that average 4.8 or more runs per game.

The Phillies have won 8-of-10 as underdogs and are 40-17 on the road versus an opponent with a winning percentage of .600 or greater. The Rockies are 16-5 at home to left-handed starters.
