Wednesday’s lone college football game between middling Sun Belt conference teams actually has some meaning – the winner becomes bowl eligible. Both Middle Tennessee and Louisiana Lafayette are 5-6 straight-up on the season, and will be gunning to get to the .500 mark with a win in this game Wednesday.

The Blue Raiders have won three games in a row over Louisiana-Monroe, Western Kentucky, and North Texas, trouncing the Mean Green 52-13 in their last outing on November 22. The Ragin‘ Cajuns are going in the other direction right now, with three consecutive losses versus UTEP, Florida Atlantic, and Troy.

Still, the oddsmakers opened Louisiana-Lafayette as a 4.5-point home favorite in this contest, with the total sitting at 57.5 points.
