For the<br \/>\nseason, the offense has been 50-50 run-pass. That\u2019s far too many passing<br \/>\nattempts to Hall\u2019s liking. Last season when <st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Penn<\/st1:PlaceName><br \/>\n<st1:PlaceType>State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> won the Big Ten championship<br \/>\nand played in the Orange Bowl, the Lions ran the ball 60 percent of the time<br \/>\nand passed 40 percent. This season, opposing defenses are concentrating their<br \/>\nefforts on making sure <st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Penn<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType>State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place><br \/>\ncannot throw the ball deep. This leaves the defenses more susceptible to short-<br \/>\nto mid-range passes.
