In the 1970s and 80s, a lot of gamblers would<br \/>\nfocus on local teams and conferences where regional information was often more<br \/>\naccurate and punctual than what Vegas could acquire.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>The Internet and the Information Age, to say the least<br \/>\nchanged that. By no means did progress eliminate streamlining, it changed the<br \/>\nfocal point.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>   <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>At one juncture, many moons ago, one of the most<br \/>\ninfluential persons in moving a line was professional handicapper \u201cDoc\u201d in the<br \/>\nBig 10.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  <\/span>\u201cHis plays could move the line<br \/>\nfive, six points\u201d says Steve Linden, one of the high rolling founders of <span\nstyle='color:black'><a href=\"http:\/\/www.masterlockline.com\/\"><span\nstyle='color:black'>MasterLockLine.com<\/span><\/a><\/span>, the online betting<br \/>\nsyndicate. <o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>Times changed and team or conference experts were no<br \/>\nlonger based on \u201clocation, location, location\u201d but on the ability to adapt and<br \/>\nexpose which teams were the flavor of the moment to go with or against.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>  <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>Focusing on a specific team now involves ascertaining<br \/>\nundervalued and overvalued squads and riding them until oddsmakers caught up. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>Forensic handicapper Stevie Vincent of <a\nhref=\"http:\/\/betonsports360.com\/\">BetOnSports360.com<\/a> says teams that<br \/>\ninevitably become streaky spread wise are squads that have a high winning<br \/>\npercentage but don\u2019t blow teams out, or losing teams that don\u2019t get blown out<br \/>\noften. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>Mike Godsey of <a\nhref=\"http:\/\/www.offshoreinsiders.com\/index.php?PageID=8\">GodsTips.com<\/a> says<br \/>\nhe agrees, it is part of his \u201cdichotomous ATS and SU\u201d theory. <span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'> <\/span>\u201cWe discount 98 percent of trends, but this<br \/>\nhas proven to be the exception to the rule. Basically if a team has a great SU<br \/>\nrecord but horrid ATS record or visa versa, you ride for that to continue as it<br \/>\nis the sign of which teams are most under or overvalued.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><st1:City><st1:place>Linden<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> says of<br \/>\nthe professional handicappers they monitor, unlike last century, there are<br \/>\nfewer who simply excel by focusing on a specific team or conference, but<br \/>\ninstead they do notice, \u201cThe elite services do consistently go for or against<br \/>\nthe same teams for extended periods.\u201d <span style='mso-spacerun:yes'> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>With college basketball just around the corner, the number<br \/>\nof teams undistinguished to the masses, but crystal clear to the sharpies<br \/>\nincreases multifold.
