Three have come under Amato, now in his seventh season<br \/>\nat his alma mater after spending the previous 18 years at FSU as an assistant<br \/>\nto Bobby Bowden. No matter the reason, the Wolfpack (2-2, 1-0 ACC) has always<br \/>\nfound a way to match up with the Seminoles (3-1, 1-1) under Amato. <st1:place><st1:PlaceName>N.C.<\/st1:PlaceName><br \/>\n<st1:PlaceType>State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> was the first ACC team to<br \/>\nbeat <st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Florida<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType>State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place><br \/>\non the road in 2001, then followed that with a 17-7 win here the following season.<br \/>\nLast year, Andre Brown ran for 179 yards and two touchdowns to lead the<br \/>\nWolfpack past the Seminoles 20-15 on the road, becoming the first ACC team to<br \/>\nwin twice at <span class=SpellE>Doak<\/span> Campbell Stadium. Even the recent<br \/>\nlosses have been close, with <st1:place><st1:PlaceName>N.C.<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType>State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place><br \/>\nlosing in double-overtime on the road in 2003 and 17-10 here in \u201804. The<br \/>\nSeminoles are more worried instead about coming out of a bye week with a league<br \/>\nwin. <st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Florida<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType>State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place><br \/>\nopened the year by beating league rival <st1:City><st1:place>Miami<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>,<br \/>\nbut lost to Clemson 27-20 three weeks ago to drop in the ACC\u2019s Atlantic<br \/>\nDivision standings. Now it\u2019s <st1:place><st1:PlaceName>N.C.<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType>State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place><br \/>\nsitting atop the division &#8211; along with unbeaten <st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Wake<\/st1:PlaceName><br \/>\n<st1:PlaceType>Forest<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> &#8211; after a last-second win<br \/>\nagainst <st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Boston<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType>College<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place><br \/>\ntwo weeks ago.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoList><span style='color:black'><a\nhref=\"http:\/\/www.masterlockline.com\/\"><span style='color:black'>MasterLockLine.com<\/span><\/a><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Florida<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType>State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place><br \/>\nwill be starting three players in the secondary with a combined one start. NC<br \/>\nState QB Daniel Evans will be making just his second start<\/p>\n<h2><span class=SpellE>TCU<\/span>-Utah<\/h2>\n<h3>Associated Press<o:p><\/o:p><\/h3>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><span class=SpellE>TCU<\/span> went from having the nation\u2019s<br \/>\nlongest winning streak to dropping out of the Top 25.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>The defending Mountain West Conference champions are<br \/>\ntrying to keep the damage from getting even worse when they visit <st1:State><st1:place>Utah<\/st1:place><\/st1:State><br \/>\non Thursday. <span class=GramE>Until a week ago, the Horned Frogs (3-1, 0-1 <span\nclass=SpellE>MWC<\/span>) had won 13 straight and had the longest winning streak<br \/>\nin Division I-A.<\/span> That ended with a 31-17 loss to Brigham Young last<br \/>\nThursday in <st1:City><st1:place>Fort Worth<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>. The Utes<br \/>\n(3-2, 1-0) can sympathize. <st1:State><st1:place>Utah<\/st1:place><\/st1:State><br \/>\nhad an 18-game winning streak &#8211; the nation\u2019s longest at the time &#8211; before<br \/>\nlosing to the Horned Frogs 23-20 in overtime in <span class=SpellE>TCU\u2019s<\/span><br \/>\nMountain West debut. After going unbeaten in the league a year ago, <span\nclass=SpellE>TCU<\/span> is 0-1 in the Mountain West and out of the AP poll for<br \/>\nthe first time this season. A loss to the Utes on Thursday could all but knock<br \/>\nthe Frogs out of contention to defend their conference title even with six more<br \/>\ngames to play. Patterson said quarterback Jeff Ballard, who injured his<br \/>\nshoulder against <span class=SpellE>BYU<\/span>, will start Thursday. He rested<br \/>\nthis week as backup Marcus Jackson worked with the first team. <span\nclass=SpellE>TCU<\/span> is 11-1 with Ballard starting.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><span class=SpellE>TCU<\/span> running back Aaron Brown did<br \/>\nnot make the trip because of a sore right ankle. <span class=SpellE>Lonta<\/span><br \/>\nHobbs, who returned last week after missing a year with a groin injury, is the<br \/>\nprobable starter Thursday. <st1:State><st1:place>Utah<\/st1:place><\/st1:State><br \/>\nhad won three straight before the <st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Boise<\/st1:PlaceName><br \/>\n<st1:PlaceType>State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> game, which was the Utes\u2019<br \/>\nworst home loss since 1989.<\/p>\n<h3>Star Telegram<o:p><\/o:p><\/h3>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>An <span class=SpellE>MRI<\/span> exam showed no<br \/>\nsignificant damage to the throwing shoulder of <span class=SpellE>TCU<\/span><br \/>\nquarterback Jeff Ballard, and <span class=GramE>coach<\/span> Gary Patterson<br \/>\nsaid Tuesday that the senior will start Thursday night, when the Horned Frogs play<br \/>\nat <st1:State><st1:place>Utah<\/st1:place><\/st1:State>. However, Patterson said,<br \/>\n<span class=SpellE>TCU<\/span> will be without three key players in another<br \/>\nimportant Mountain West Conference game as the Frogs try to rebound from their<br \/>\nfirst loss since early 2005. Sophomore Aaron Brown, <span class=SpellE>TCU\u2019s<\/span><br \/>\nleading rusher, won\u2019t travel to <st1:State><st1:place>Utah<\/st1:place><\/st1:State><br \/>\nafter injuring his right ankle against <span class=SpellE>BYU<\/span>. Brown,<br \/>\nwhose injury originally was thought to be minor, didn\u2019t take any snaps during<br \/>\npractices this <span class=SpellE>week.Senior<\/span> running back Robert<br \/>\nMerrill also will not travel with the team as he continues to rehabilitate from<br \/>\noff-season back surgery. The rushing load will fall to senior <span\nclass=SpellE>Lonta<\/span> Hobbs, who played against <span class=SpellE>BYU<\/span><br \/>\nfor the first time since last season.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>On defense, junior safety David Roach will remain in <st1:City><st1:place>Fort<br \/>\nWorth<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> with an injured right ankle.
