A few more big names went down in Week 8 and damaged some teams\u2019 NFL betting<\/a> hopes in the process \u2013 possibly irreparably. Here\u2019s the latest injury lowdown, excluding Monday-night casualties Andre Johnson, Mike Hart and Donald Brown since their statuses are still very foggy. Also, Beanie Wells, Ryan Mathews and Felix Jones all suffered minor injuries that don\u2019t look they\u2019ll cause any problems this week. The Week 9 NFL podcast<\/a> is up.<\/p>\n

Brett Favre, Vikings: JAW<\/strong><\/p>\n

Brett Favre took a huge hit to the jaw that busted him open versus the Patriots. His chin laceration required 10 stitches to close. Though Favre may have to take a concussion test (he couldn\u2019t finish the game), it looks like he\u2019ll play next week. It sure feels like No. 4\u2019s career is going out with a whimper.<\/p>\n

Vince Young, Titans: ANKLE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Young may have suffered a high-ankle sprain in Sunday\u2019s lost to San Diego; he left the stadium in a walking boot. However, he has a bye week to heal so it\u2019s possible that he won\u2019t miss any time. Too early to tell.<\/p>\n

Matt Hasselbeck, Seahawks: CONCUSSION<\/strong><\/p>\n

And Hasselbeck wins the sports betting blog<\/a> Concussion of the Week award. Reportedly, it\u2019s a \u201cslight\u201d one, so he may not give way to Charlie Whitehurst just yet.<\/p>\n

Ryan Torain, Redskins: HAMSTRING<\/strong><\/p>\n

Washington\u2019s bruising runner yanked his hamstring Sunday and a subsequent MRI revealed no structural damage. He still has a pretty good chance to play following Washington\u2019s Week-9 bye.<\/p>\n

Kenny Britt, Titans: HAMSTRING<\/strong><\/p>\n

Unfortunately for the Titans and fantasy football<\/a> owners, Britt\u2019s hamstring injury looks serious. It may not cost him the season but he\u2019s expected to miss \u201can extended period of time.\u201d<\/p>\n

Percy Harvin, Vikings: ANKLE<\/strong><\/p>\n

This was a weird one. Harvin was helped off the field with an ankle injury but returned to finish the game against New England. Later, he was reportedly limping badly after the game. So is he hurt or not? He\u2019ll be re-evaluated. The Vikings\u2019 ship continues to sink. Avoid them like the plague at your sportsbook<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Vernon Davis, 49ers: ANKLE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s another injured guy who benefits from a bye week. Vernon Davis may have aggravated an ankle injury on Sunday in London but may heal sufficiently that he\u2019ll be ready following the bye.<\/p>\n

Nnamdi Asomugha, Raiders: ANKLE<\/strong><\/p>\n

Betting sharps could argue that this was Sunday\u2019s most significant injury. Asomugha is one of the league\u2019s top shutdown corners and appeared to suffer a serious ankle injury. Then again, some reports out of Oakland say he\u2019ll suit up for Week 9.
