Whenever USC lays such a hefty number I seem to take my chances against them. Pete Carroll’s squad is obviously very stout defensively and overall well superior to the visiting Beavers but three touchdowns better? I think not!

Playing on the road here will definitely be harder for the Beavs<\/span> but I’m not asking for an outright and Freshman Matt Barkley is not exactly a guy that has wowed me at all. Barkley has had some quality drives (ala game winner at Ohio<\/st1:PlaceName> State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place>) but he is far from being a Peyton Manning or Drew Brees<\/span> flinging the ball all over the field and lighting up the scoreboard. USC is a run first team with Joe McKnight and CJ Gable and the injury to Stafon<\/span> Johnson has weakened this team. It takes time for these Trojans to put up points and that will keep this thing tight enough.
 
Taylor Mays is a stud on defense but the losses of Clay Matthews and Ray Ma’aluga<\/span> to the NFL certainly hurt this defense and even though they are still very very<\/span> good, if not great, are far from being invincible and we saw just that last week in the narrow win at Notre Dame.
 
USC next week plays Oregon<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> which could wind up being for the Pac-10 title and I just do not see this run oriented Trojans group walking off of the field with a blowout win against a pretty good Oregon<\/st1:PlaceName> State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> squad. UCS<\/span> squeaks by 24-14. <\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n
