Putting a first-year hurler on the mound in such a big situation is the reason that the Tigers are underdogs in your offshore sportsbook<\/a>, especially as Porcello<\/span> has lost both of his starts at the Metrodome<\/span> this year.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

The Tigers used ace Justin Verlander on Sunday just to get to this game, and now their season rests on the shoulders of a rookie, albeit a rookie who is pitched well since the All-Star break. Porcello<\/span> is 6-3 in 14 starts with a 3.92 ERA in the second half of the year, but Baker has been even better, going 8-2 in 15 starts with a 3.21 ERA. Detroit<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> really should have had this division wrapped up at least two weeks ago, and they may have used all their bullets just to get here.
