The Oklahoma Sooners are looking for some redemption and they can get it this week with a win. On one hand, they would have rather that <\/span><\/font>Miami<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> win last week in Blacksburg<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>, which would have made this a matchup of two Top 10 teams. Instead, the Sooners will still face a Top 25 team and hope to get back some credibility.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Oklahoma<\/span><\/font><\/st1:place><\/st1:State>‘s defense has very quietly performed very well. They have held BYU and Tulsa<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>, two teams with very prolific offenses, to just 27 total points in those two contests. That’s not great news for Miami<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>, who struggled against a high caliber defense last week.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

On top of that, the Hurricanes defense has been gashed several times this year, which is really bad news. The Hurricanes pass defense was exposed in Week 1 by <\/span><\/font>Florida<\/st1:PlaceName> State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> and the run defense was exposed by Virginia Tech. <\/o:p><\/p>\n

This is just another bad matchup for the Hurricanes as they are proving to be more and more overrated by the second. Look for the Sooners to hang a number on them and get their credibility back. Also, keep in mind that the Sooners are off a bye week and have had an extra week to prepare for this contest. <\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Virginia Tech Hokies @ Duke Blue Devils<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

College Football Odds<\/a>: Hokies -16.5<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

There is good news and bad news for the Duke Blue Devils. The good news is that Duke is coming into this contest on a high after an offensive outburst last week that gave them a 49-14 win. The bad news is that last week they played North Carolina Central and this week they face a Top 10 team in the nation.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Since Virginia Tech joined the ACC, they have been smacking around Duke every year. The Hokies have won all five meetings against Duke and the average winning margin has been at least 24 points. <\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

The problem for Duke this week will be that they their run defense just isn’t up to the task. The Hokies have one of the best ground games around and they are going to run circles around Duke. On the flip side, Duke doesn’t have the offense to match points and they are going up against one of the best defenses around. This is a very bad matchup for them.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n
