The Texas Rangers take on the Anaheim Angels in the only west coast game on the Monday Night betting card. Tommy Hunter is on the hill for <\/span><\/font>Texas<\/st1:place><\/st1:State>, Ervin Santana for the Halos. <\/p>\n

Texas<\/span><\/font><\/st1:place><\/st1:State> is 4-0 off a loss. Anaheim<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> has dropped 4-of-5. Ervin Santana is one of those rare pitchers who are much better on the road than at home. <\/p>\n

Santana has been decent on the road with a 4.34 ERA and .256 batting average against<\/span>. But now he’s pitching at home where his ERA is 7.10 with a .335 batting average against. That is scary: a .335 batting average against in 52 home innings pitched. That’s why the Halos have dropped six straight with him as a home favorite. <\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

The road team is 11-4 in his decisions and 15-6 overall in his starts. Conversely Tommy Hunter has pitched very well with a 3.67 ERA and 1.206 WHIP in 17 starts. <\/span><\/font>Texas<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> has won 9-of-13 with him on the hill and they are 11-6 +5.5 units with him overall. His road WHIP of 1.191 is much better than Santana’s 1.827 home<\/span> WHIP. As sharp bettors know, WHIP is a much better key indicator than ERA. <\/p>\n

Texas<\/span><\/font><\/st1:place><\/st1:State> is 15-5 in the series. They’ve beaten Santana two straight getting 13 earned runs off of him in just 9 2\/3 inning<\/span> pitched. In fact, they have 17 hits in those 9 2\/3 innings. <\/p>\n

The Rangers are +15.5 units the last two years as underdogs of 125-175. <\/span><\/font>Texas<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> has won 7-of-8 Hunter starts on grass and they are 6-1 with Hunter after allowing five or more runs in their last game. <\/p>\n

The pick: <\/span><\/font><\/b>Texas<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> Rangers +155. <\/p>\n
