In what has been one of the better starts ever for sharp gamblers, but a horrible beginning for the square player resumes tonight at <\/span><\/font>Colorado<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> travels to Toledo<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> in nonconference<\/span> action.<\/span> The ESPN betting odds has the Buffs at -3.5 at every sportsbook<\/a> <\/p>\n

Handicapping notes: <\/span><\/font>Toledo<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> is 2-0 straight up to Big 12 foes in the last four years. They’ve beaten a BCS opponent three straight years. Each team is off a horrible loss, Toledo<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> by 21 against Purdue and Colorado<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> imploded at home to CSU. <\/p>\n

In that game, the Rams allowed five plays of 20 yards or longer. <\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

As a result of the embarrassing loss to CSU, this is probably the biggest game of CU coach Dan Hawkins career. He is a very disappointing 13-25 straight up since taking over at <\/span><\/font>Colorado<\/st1:place><\/st1:State>. <\/p>\n

It’s a short week for both, but more so for <\/span><\/font>Colorado<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> which played on Sunday. The Rockets played Saturday. Toledo<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> is 44-11 straight up their last 55 home games. <\/p>\n

Colorado<\/span><\/font><\/st1:place><\/st1:State> strong safety Patrick Mahnke<\/span> is probable after missing last week and the Buffs will need him. Last week Toledo<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> threw the ball 67 times. <\/p>\n

Many experts expected this to be the breakout year for Buffs RB Darrell Scott, yet he was benched last week because of struggles in pass blocking. <\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Colorado<\/span><\/font><\/st1:place><\/st1:State> has a very inexperienced offensive line as three linemen made their first career start last week and a fourth started for the first time at a new position. <\/p>\n

Weather should not be a factor here. <\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Against the spread records: The Buffaloes are 1-7 after scoring less than 20 points in their last contest. They are on an<\/span> 0-6 skid after getting less than 275 total yards previous game. <\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Toledo RB Morgan Williams is out, serving the back end of a two-game suspension. <\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

The Rockets are 27-13 in their last 40 home games, but 2-8 as an underdog of 3.5-10 points. <\/span><\/font><\/p>\n
