The Tennessee Titans take on the Pittsburgh Steelers to open the NFL betting<\/a> season. The latest NFL point spread<\/a> has <\/span><\/font>Pittsburgh<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> -6, but we are concerned here with the total which is 35. <\/p>\n

Tennessee<\/span><\/font><\/st1:place><\/st1:State> is actually going to spread out their offense tonight. They used two tight ends and two wide receivers during the preseason. Tonight they will use tight ends Bo Scaife<\/span> and Alge<\/span> Crumpler<\/span> in the slot at times to open up the field. <\/p>\n

Both teams will blitz heavily tonight, but that means it will be difficult for sustained drives, the heart of each offense. There will be more big plays that the sportsbooks<\/a> expect. <\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Of course the biggest loss on either side of the ball for either team is the Titans losing their best defensive player Albert Haynesworth<\/span>. Also Jevon<\/span> Kearse<\/span> and Kyle Vanden<\/span> Bosch are not 100 percent. <\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Pittsburgh<\/span><\/font><\/st1:place><\/st1:City> is without a key defensive player Lawrence Timmons. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Steelers now have a great running game with Willie Parker battling for a new contract and last year’s first rounder Rashard<\/span> Mendenhall healthy. This will give Ben Roethlisberger more time to exploit <\/span><\/font>Tennessee<\/st1:place><\/st1:State>‘s soft, two-deep zone. <\/p>\n

Tennessee<\/span><\/font><\/st1:place><\/st1:State> already had one of the great running games with LenDale<\/span> White and Chris Johnson, but added WRs<\/span> top pick Kenny Britt and free agent Nate<\/span> Washington. Granted Washington<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> is a game time decision but Britt is a big time player. <\/p>\n
