Olivia Rogowska<\/span>. The 18-year-old Australian pushed Safina<\/span> to the break and even led 3-0 and 4-2 in the third set before Safina<\/span> came back. Safina<\/span> eventually won the finally four games of the match to survive. As she moves on, she’ll have to serve and perform much better if she hopes to survive.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

No. 3 Venus Williams looked slow, sluggish and hurt when she faced Vera Dushevina<\/span> in the first round. Venus was down in the second set and just two points away from losing the match when she finally woke up. Williams was ripe for the picking but Dushevina<\/span> couldn’t handle the pressure of potentially winning. A lot of people wondered how healthy Williams was\/is after that match but she looked much stronger in her second-round win over American Bethanie<\/span> Mattek<\/span>.
