In danger of losing three straight for the first time this year, the Los Angeles Dodgers are set to activate <\/span>Eric Milton<\/font><\/b><\/strong> <\/span>from the disabled list to start the opener of a three-game interleague<\/span> series with the Seattle Mariners tonight.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Los Angeles<\/span><\/font><\/st1:place><\/st1:City> lost the last two games of a three-game set with the Chicago White Sox, dropping the finale 6-5 in 13 innings Thursday.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Milton will make his first start since facing Philadelphia on June 5, when he gave up three runs and eight hits in 4 1-3 innings of Los Angeles’ 4-3 win.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Milton<\/span><\/font><\/st1:place><\/st1:City> is 1-5 with a 9.41 ERA in nine starts against the Mariners, but this will be his first appearance against them since 2002.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

The Mariners are also expected to activate catcher <\/span>Kenji Johjima<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/strong> <\/span>from the DL. Johjima<\/span>, who has been out since May 26, may be behind the plate to catch Jason Vargas. <\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Holliday is hitting .197 with no homers, two RBIs and 11 strikeouts over his last 17 games.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

The <\/span><\/font>Rockies<\/st1:place> have overcome Holliday’s departure and the firing of manager <\/span>Clint Hurdle<\/font><\/b><\/strong> <\/span>on May 29 to move back over .500. After winning 17 of 18 from June 4-22, however, they’ve dropped back-to-back contests.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

The Rockies will be trying to get back on track against an Athletics team that’s been held to three runs or fewer in eight of its last 15 games, batting .220 and going 5-10 in that stretch.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Oakland<\/span><\/font><\/st1:place><\/st1:City> will try to bounce back behind <\/span>Dallas Braden<\/font><\/b><\/strong>, who is all too familiar with his team’s problems at the plate. Braden posted a 2.87 ERA in his last seven starts, but Oakland<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> went 3-4.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Jason Hammel<\/span><\/span><\/font><\/b><\/strong> <\/span>will start for the Rockies<\/st1:place>.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

The Red Sox are at the Atlanta Braves in one of the best baseball betting<\/span><\/font><\/a> games of the weekend. <\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

After the Boston Red Sox had their four-game winning streak abruptly halted Thursday, the AL-leading club hopes that <\/span>Josh Beckett<\/font><\/b><\/strong> <\/span>can spark another string of victories when they open a three-game set against the Atlanta Braves.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

The Red Sox still hold a four-game lead in the AL East after winning two out of three against the Nationals. They’ve won 16 of 22 overall, losing back-to-back games just once over that span.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

They also took two of three from the Braves at <\/span><\/font>Fenway<\/span><\/st1:PlaceName> Park<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> last weekend, improving to 10-3 in their last 13 against Atlanta<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Jair<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/strong><\/span> Jurrjens<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/strong> <\/span>will get the start for Atlanta<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> and will try to pick up a staff that allowed a total of 19 runs<\/span> in the last two games against the Yankees.<\/p>\n
