As far as bettors are concerned, poker<\/span><\/font><\/a> is the ultimate fan and participation sport. Whether it’s playing online at <\/span><\/font>Bodog<\/span><\/font><\/a> <\/span>or wagering on the WSOP<\/span><\/font><\/span> 2009 Vegas odds<\/span><\/font><\/a>, there is no need to wait until it’s<\/span> NFL picks<\/span><\/font><\/a> season.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Here are the latest World Series of Poker updates. <\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

At his fourth final table so far of the <\/span>2009 WSOP<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/strong>, poker pro <\/span>Jeff Lisandro<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/strong> <\/span>ran over the competition to capture his astounding third bracelet of the summer.<\/span><\/font><\/span> What makes this accomplishment even more incredible is that they were all won in stud events –$1,500 Seven Card Stud<\/font><\/b><\/strong>, <\/span>$10,000 World Championship Seven Card Stud Hi\/Lo<\/font><\/b><\/strong> <\/span>and, now, <\/span>$2,500 Seven Card Razz<\/font><\/b><\/strong> <\/span>– making him arguably the best stud player in the world.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

On top of his four WSOP<\/span> final tables this year, Lisandro<\/span> has cashed in two other events to bring his winnings so far to $807,491. Not bad for a few weeks work. While he doesn’t have the <\/span>WSOP<\/font><\/b><\/strong><\/span> Player of the Year<\/font><\/b><\/strong> <\/span>honors wrapped up quite yet (it seems there’s still a mathematical possibility that <\/span>Phil Ivey<\/font><\/b><\/strong> <\/span>could overtake him), he is definitely the front runner for the award.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

This is the fourth bracelet for the native-born Australian, who now calls <\/span><\/font>Italy<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> home, and his 31st<\/sup> total WSOP<\/span> cash. He finished 17th<\/sup> in the Main Event in 2006 and has just cracked the $4 million mark in career <\/span>poker tournament <\/span><\/font><\/a>earnings. Wow.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

The <\/span>2009 WSOP<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/strong> <\/span>and the Bodog<\/span> Poker pros out in the field seem to have settled in for the long haul, especially <\/span>Jean Robert Bellande<\/span><\/span><\/font><\/b><\/strong><\/a>. Bodog<\/span> is more than just the sharpest NFL point spread<\/a>.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

According to PokerNews<\/span>, he has one of the biggest stacks in the field right now and got some of those chips from bidding adios to <\/span>Phil Hellmuth<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/strong>. Here is how it went down:<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Just before a multiway<\/span> limped pot, Phil Hellmuth<\/span> shouts to Annie Duke, “Watch how I play this one\u2026”<\/span><\/font><\/i><\/em><\/o:p><\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

They see a<\/span> A-6-3 flop and it’s checked to Hellmuth<\/span> who bets 450. Jean-Robert Bellande<\/span> check-raises all in and Hellmuth<\/span> quickly calls with 7-7, ahead of Bellande’s<\/span> J-6. The turn is a K but the river is a devil for Hellmuth<\/span>, another 6 to eliminate him.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/i><\/em><\/p>\n

So, it looks like Bellande<\/span> is now sitting on about 40k in chips and is still next to Maria Ho<\/font><\/b><\/strong> <\/span>(some guys have all the luck).<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

David Williams<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/strong><\/a> <\/span>and <\/span>Justin Bonomo<\/span><\/span><\/font><\/b><\/strong><\/a> <\/span>both look equally as comfortable at the table, if not as stacked. Well, we would be too if we were getting a massage like Bonomo<\/span> is right now, but that’s beside the point (don’t think they come up to media row, maybe it’s the guy next to us who smells like he may not have showered \u2026. ever). Williams is just hanging out and texting<\/span>\/tweeting and chatting with <\/span>Erick Lindgren<\/font><\/b><\/strong>, who is across the table from him.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

<\/span>Also Bodog<\/span><\/span> Poker pro<\/span> <\/span>Evelyn Ng<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/strong><\/a><\/span> <\/span>has a new toy and his name is Stevie. This isn’t a boy toy, or even a new Rock Band guitar (although good guess), it is her brand new shiny Vespa<\/span> that she purchased just over a week ago. While her experience on Stevie had solely been in parking lots, she ventured out into traffic recently with the friend who inspired her purchase – Maria “maridu<\/span>” Mayrinck<\/span> – to go to the salon to ger<\/span> her hairs did. As Maria is capturing her WSOP<\/span> experience on camera for PokerRoad<\/span>, they posted it for all to enjoy. So\u2026.. enjoy<\/span>.<\/span><\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
