There have already been some upsets against the Wimbledon betting line<\/span><\/font><\/a>, though the favorites remain. Serena Williams and Venus Williams are the favorites on the distaff side and Roger Federer and Andy Murray on the men’s.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Looking at this year’s <\/span><\/font>Wimbledon<\/st1:place> tournament on the women’s side, it seems like a very safe bet to say a <\/span>Williams<\/font><\/b><\/strong><\/span> <\/span>sister is going to win.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Serena is the favorite at +175, but Venus is not that far behind at +250 and how can you bet against the 29-year-old who has reached seven <\/span><\/font>Wimbledon<\/st1:place> finals in the last decade?<\/o:p><\/p>\n

The strongest challenge to Venus’ dominance is likely to come from across the breakfast table at her <\/span><\/font>Wimbledon<\/st1:place> base in the leafy south-west London<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> village.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

It has been six years since Serena last won <\/span><\/font>Wimbledon<\/st1:place> but the world number two still has the potential to beat any of her peers, including Venus.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

So far, so good this year for the sisters.<\/span><\/font><\/span><\/o:p><\/p>\n

Venus recovered from an early stumble on the slick grass Tuesday and defeated Stefanie<\/font><\/b><\/strong><\/span> Voegele<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/strong> <\/span>6-3, 6-2.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

With <\/span>Rafael Nadal<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/strong> <\/span><\/b><\/span>dropping out of this year’s <\/span><\/font>Wimbledon<\/st1:place> tournament you would think that <\/span>Roger Federer<\/font><\/b><\/strong> <\/span>would have a cakewalk to another title.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Well that may be true on paper, but there are still other players out there who could give Federer a run for his money.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Federer, who is listed at a staggering -175 to win, could find <\/span>Andy Murray<\/font><\/b><\/strong> <\/span>(+275) in his path at some point.<\/o:p><\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

These two players are clearly getting most of the attention as the tourney begins, but it will be <\/span><\/font>Murray<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> that will need to step up his game if he is to upset Federer.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Federer opened his <\/span><\/font>Wimbledon<\/st1:place> with a routine 7-5, 6-3, 6-2 victory over <\/span>Yen-hsun<\/span> Lu<\/font><\/b><\/strong>.<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Murray<\/span><\/font><\/st1:place><\/st1:City> launched his assault on a maiden grand slam title with a 7-5, 6-7, 6-3, 6-4 victory on Centre Court<\/st1:address><\/st1:Street> over <\/span>Robert Kendrick<\/font><\/b><\/strong>.<\/o:p><\/p>\n
