{"id":4694,"date":"2009-06-22T22:44:00","date_gmt":"2009-06-23T03:44:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.joeduffy.net\/blog\/2009\/06\/2009-heisman-trophy-odds\/"},"modified":"2009-06-22T22:44:00","modified_gmt":"2009-06-23T03:44:00","slug":"2009-heisman-trophy-odds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.joeduffy.net\/blog\/2009\/06\/2009-heisman-trophy-odds\/","title":{"rendered":"2009 Heisman Trophy Odds"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=Section1>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><font size=3 face=\"Times New Roman\"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>And the winner of the 2009 Heisman Trophy is? <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lines-maker.com\/\">Football handicappers<\/a> who know the answer to that question can collect serious winnings at any one of a number of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.linetrackers.com\/\">sportsbooks<\/a>. <\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><font size=3 face=\"Times New Roman\"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Archie Griffin is the only player to win two Heisman Trophies, but the former Ohio State Buckeye can have some company with that distinction as for the first time ever, two previous winners will be competing in the same season: Tim <span class=SpellE>Tebow<\/span> of the Florida Gators and Sam Bradford of the Oklahoma Sooners. <\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><span class=SpellE><font size=3 face=\"Times New Roman\"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Tebow<\/span><\/font><\/span>, <span class=GramE>whose<\/span> Gators are the overwhelming consensus preseason No. 1, is the favorite at +200, with <st1:place>Bradford<\/st1:place> at +250. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><font size=3 face=\"Times New Roman\"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>A second-time winner is far from in the bag as Colt McCoy of the Texas Longhorns is +275. <\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><font size=3 face=\"Times New Roman\"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Jerry McCann of <font color=black><span style='color:black'><a href=\"http:\/\/scoresoddspicks.com\/\">ScoresOddsPicks.com<\/a> <\/span><\/font>believes McCoy should be the favorite. &#8220;Based on limited data, the Heisman voters have shown a potential two-time winner would have to run away with the award,&#8221; says McCann arguing that <span class=SpellE>Tebow<\/span> should have won last year.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><font size=3 face=\"Times New Roman\"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>&#8220;If it&#8217;s close among the &#8216;big three&#8217;, McCoy will get it.&#8221; <\/span><\/font><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><font size=3 face=\"Times New Roman\"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>The only other candidate at less than 10-1 according to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.betus.com\/ats\/10499\/sportsbook\/\">BetUs Sportsbook<\/a> is <span class=SpellE>Terrelle<\/span> Pryor, the strong-armed but raw <\/span><\/font><st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Ohio<\/st1:PlaceName>  <st1:PlaceType>State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> signal caller. He&#8217;s +800. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><font size=3 face=\"Times New Roman\"><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Jonathan Dwyer, of Georgia Tech, will try to emerge from the mediocre ACC at +1200.
