Righthander<\/span> Scherzer<\/span> didn’t allow a run in either of his past two starts against the Padres and Giants, surrendering just six hits over his 12 2-3 innings.<\/span><\/p>\n

As well, the Yankees will try to coax something out of struggling starter Chien<\/span>-Ming Wang (0-4, 14.34 ERA) on Wednesday when they host the Nationals and John Lannan<\/span> (3-5, 3.51 ERA). Righthander<\/span> Wang lasted just 2 2-3 innings in a loss to the Red Sox last time out, giving up four earned runs on six hits. Lefthander Lannan<\/span> has been a bright spot for the lowly Nationals this season; Lannan<\/span> has surrendered three or fewer earned runs in nine of his last 10 starts.<\/span><\/p>\n
