Today in the Daily Sports Roundup: The Lakers look to roll over the Thunder, the Jazz get a visit from the Rockets, and the Habs<\/span> aim for a win over the Thrashers.<\/span><\/font><\/p>\n

Tipping off on the hardwood  . . .<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n

There are just four games on the NBA’s schedule for Tuesday night, including Kobe Bryant and the Lakers on the road against <\/span><\/font>Oklahoma City<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>. Los Angeles<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> got past Chicago<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> 117-109 on Saturday night, as Bryant poured in 28 points to go along with seven assists, and Pau<\/span> Gasol<\/span> added 23 points. The last time the Lakers and Thunder met was February 24, with L.A.<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> winning 107-93 on the road.<\/span><\/p>\n

Chicago<\/span><\/font><\/st1:place><\/st1:City> will host Detroit<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> on Tuesday night, while Golden<\/st1:PlaceName> State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> is at San Antonio<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>, and Utah<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> gets a visit from Houston<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>. The Jazz are coming off a 101-94 win over the Thunder, with Deron<\/span> Williams picking up 24 points and 11 assists. Utah<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> also topped Houston<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> the last time the two teams met, as Carlos Boozer scored 20 points and grabbed 17 rebounds in a 101-94 Jazz home victory back on March 4.<\/p>\n

The National Invitational Tournament offers up the only college hoops contests on the Tuesday night schedule, with <\/span><\/font>Auburn<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> vs. Baylor and Florida<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> vs. Penn<\/st1:PlaceName> State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> in quarterfinal action. The NIT quarterfinals will conclude on Wednesday night, with the semifinals being held on March 31, and the championship April 2.<\/p>\n

The Canadiens<\/span> were unable to beat the rival Maple Leafs on Saturday night, getting a pair of goals from Maxim Lapierre<\/span> in a 5-2 defeat. Jaroslav<\/span> Halak<\/span> stopped 37 of 42 Toronto<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> shots. The Thrashers skated to a 4-3 victory over Tampa<\/st1:PlaceName> Bay<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> on Saturday, with Johan Hedberg<\/span> making 29 saves.<\/p>\n

Vegas oddsmakers don’t like the chances of either Washington or Baltimore to win their respective league pennants this year; the Nats<\/span> are at 60\/1 in the National League on that prop, with the O’s at 50\/1 in the American League.
