Today in the Daily Sports Roundup: The Bruins gun for a road win on the ice in <\/span>New Jersey<\/span><\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:STATE>, Villanova meets <\/span>West Virginia<\/span><\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:STATE>, and the NBA starts its All-Star break.<\/o:P><\/span><\/p>\n

Tipping Off in the NBA<\/span><\/strong><\/o:P><\/span><\/p>\n

There are no NBA games on the Friday schedule as the league shifts into All-Star mode in <\/span>Phoenix<\/span><\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:CITY>. Friday offers up the Rookie Challenge and Celebrity Game, and Saturday has the D-League All-Star Game and the skills competition. The All-Star Game itself will take place on Sunday, with tipoff<\/span> set for <\/span>8:00pm ET<\/span><\/st1:TIME>.<\/o:P><\/span><\/p>\n

Daytona 500 Betting Odds<\/o:P><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

It’s the biggest NASCAR race of the year, the Daytona 500. The oddsmakers have weighed in and have Jimmy Johnson and Kyle Busch are<\/span> each posted as the favorite<\/a> to win it all at +500. Dale Earnhardt Jr. is next at +600, followed by Jeff Gordon at +700. <\/o:P><\/span><\/p>\n

There are just two ranked teams on the college hoops schedule for Friday night, with No. 13 Villanova at <\/span>West Virginia<\/span><\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:STATE>, and Illinois-Chicago at No. 15 Butler. The Bulldogs have bounced back from a loss to Wisconsin-Green Bay with consecutive wins over Detroit and Wright State; they’re at 21-2 SU and 12-8-1 ATS. The Flames (10-13 SU, <\/span>8-12-1<\/span><\/st1:DATE> ATS) lost to <\/span>Youngstown<\/span><\/st1:PLACENAME> <\/span>State<\/span><\/st1:PLACETYPE><\/st1:PLACE> last time out.<\/o:P><\/span><\/p>\n

As well, the smart kids will take to the floor in the usual Ivy League matchups<\/span> on Friday night. This week it’s <\/span>Pennsylvania<\/span><\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:STATE> at Brown, <\/span>Dartmouth<\/span><\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:CITY> at <\/span>Columbia<\/span><\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:CITY>, <\/span>Princeton<\/span><\/st1:PLACE> at Yale, and Harvard at Cornell. The Big Red are<\/span> undefeated at home with a 9-0 record this season, and they are now sitting at 15-7 SU and 10-6 ATS.<\/o:P><\/span><\/p>\n

A Trip Around<\/span> the Rink<\/span><\/strong><\/o:P><\/span><\/p>\n

There’s a key Eastern Conference clash on tap for Friday night with the Bruins hitting the road to take on the Devils. Those two teams last met on January 29, with <\/span>New Jersey<\/span><\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:STATE> pulling out a 4-3 road victory in overtime. Jamie Langenbrunner<\/span> scored twice for the Devils in that win, while Scott Clemmensen<\/span> stopped 24 of 27 shots between the pipes. Phil Kessel<\/span> chipped in with two helpers for the Bruins.<\/o:P><\/span><\/p>\n

The only other Eastern matchup on Friday has the Rangers in <\/span>Florida<\/span><\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:STATE> to play the Panthers. As well, <\/span>Detroit<\/span><\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:CITY> will visit <\/span>Columbus<\/span><\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:CITY>, <\/span>San Jose<\/span><\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:CITY> is in <\/span>Buffalo<\/span><\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:CITY>, <\/span>Dallas<\/span><\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:CITY> hosts <\/span>Vancouver<\/span><\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:CITY>, and <\/span>Chicago<\/span><\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:CITY> takes a trip to <\/span>St. Louis<\/span><\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:CITY>. Finally, the Canadians and Avalanche will close out the day’s schedule with a <\/span>9:00pm ET<\/span><\/st1:TIME> game in <\/span>Colorado<\/span><\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:STATE>.<\/o:P><\/span><\/p>\n
