The NBA offers up a dozen games on Wednesday night, including several big clashes between the league’s top teams. Leading off the slate of marquee matchups<\/span> are <\/span><\/font>Denver<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> at Orlando<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> and Phoenix<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> at Cleveland<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>, both at 7:00pm ET<\/st1:time>. After that it’s Atlanta<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> at Detroit<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> and Boston<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> at New Orleans<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>, followed by the Lakers at Utah<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> in a Western clash; the Jazz were upset by Golden<\/st1:PlaceName> State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> Sunday.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere, the Spurs will be gunning for a road win in <\/span><\/font>Toronto<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>, with Washington<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> at Charlotte<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>, and Memphis<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> at Philadelphia<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>. The Pacers will take their terrible road record into a game in Milwaukee<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>, while Sacramento<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> travels to Houston<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>, and Portland<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> hosts Oklahoma City<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>. Finally, the Knicks will continue their Western swing in Los Angeles<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> against the Clippers, who have lost three of their past five.<\/p>\n

The March to Madness<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n

No. 1 Connecticut and No. 2 Oklahoma are both in action on Wednesday night, but the marquee college hoops matchup has No. 3 North Carolina playing on the road against No. 6 Duke. The Tar Heels enter this game at 21-2 SU and 10-12 ATS, and they’ve won seven straight games. The Blue Devils are 20-3 SU and <\/span><\/font>11-10-1<\/st1:date> ATS,<\/span> and they’ve lost twice to ranked teams in the past two weeks (Wake<\/st1:PlaceName> Forest<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> and Clemson). The ACC rivals split their two meetings last season.<\/p>\n

Top-ranked UConn will host No. 23 Syracuse on Wednesday, while the No. 2 Sooners will be on the road to take on Baylor. As well, it’ll be No. 7 Wake Forest at <\/span><\/font>N.C.<\/st1:PlaceName> State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place>, Tulsa<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> at No. 8 Memphis, and No. 14 Xavier at Dayton<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>. Finally, No. 20 Purdue will get a visit from Penn<\/st1:PlaceName> State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> at Mackey Arena; the Boilermakers were held under 50 points in a 66-48 loss to Illinois<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> in their last game on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Stars continue to climb the Western Conference standings, and they’ll be looking to knock off a division rival on Wednesday night when they host the Coyotes. <\/span><\/font>Dallas<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> improved to 26-19-7 on the season with a 4-1 win over Nashville<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> on Sunday; Marty Turco<\/span> made 26 saves in that victory. Phoenix<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> is at just 24-25-5 after getting blasted by Carolina<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> 7-2 last time out; they’ve lost six straight games.<\/p>\n

There are eight other games on the ice on Wednesday, including <\/span><\/font>Washington<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> at the Rangers and San Jose<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> at Pittsburgh<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>. As well, the last-place Islanders will be in tough when they play on the road in New Jersey, while Chicago will try to pick up a win in Atlanta, Buffalo plays host to Ottawa, Colorado is at Minnesota, and Montreal travels to Edmonton<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>. Finally, the Ducks will be at home to host Calgary<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>.<\/p>\n

Rounding Out the Slate<\/span><\/font><\/b><\/strong><\/p>\n

The World Baseball Classic gets underway in less than a month, and the oddsmakers generally have the <\/span><\/font>United States<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> and the Dominican Republic<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> pegged as the favorites to win the tournament right now.
