Several NFL teams will be looking for the wins that put them into the playoffs on Sunday, while the Lions only seek win No. 1. The stock market is having its worst year since the Great Depression yet the sports betting marketplace has been sensational as sharp players are winning more<\/a> than ever and squares losing more. The Panthers are in first place in the NFC South at 11-4 straight-up (and <\/span><\/font>8-6-1<\/st1:date> against-the-spread), while the Falcons are just behind them at 10-5 SU and 9-6 ATS. Carolina<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> is favored by 3 points against New Orleans<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>, and Atlanta<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> is a 14-point favorite against St. Louis<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>.<\/p>\n

The Vikings are 7-point home favorites against the Giants in another <\/span><\/font>1:00pm ET<\/st1:time> contest, and they’ll be looking to secure the NFC North title with a win. Their challenger for that spot, the Bears, are<\/span> 2.5-point road underdogs against the Texans. The Buccaneers, who are hoping to wind up with an NFC Wild Card berth, have been listed as 13-point home favorites versus the Raiders on Sunday.<\/p>\n

Other early-afternoon contests include <\/span><\/font>Kansas City<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> at Cincinnati<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> (-3), Detroit<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> at Green Bay<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> (-10.5), Tennessee<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> (-3) at Indy, Cleveland<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> at Pittsburgh<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> (-10.5), and New England<\/st1:place> (-6.5) at Buffalo<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>, with the Patriots in the thick of the AFC East race.<\/p>\n

The other two contending AFC East teams are in action at <\/span><\/font>4:15pm ET<\/st1:time>, with Miami<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> a 2.5-point underdog on the road against the Jets. The Ravens are giving up 12.5 points at home against Jacksonville<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>, while it’s Philadelphia<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> -1.5 at home against Dallas<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> in a key NFC clash. There’s just one college football game on the schedule for Sunday, with <\/span><\/font>Northern Illinois<\/st1:place> taking on Louisiana Tech in the Independence Bowl. The oddsmakers don’t see much to choose from in this matchup, as the game is listed as a pick’em<\/span> (with the total at 47.5 points). Northern Illinois<\/st1:place> went 6-6 SU and 6-5 ATS on the season, while Louisiana Tech went 7-5 SU and 5-5-1<\/st1:date> against the numbers.<\/p>\n

The Crusaders get another ranked opponent on Sunday, as they’ll take on No. 10 Purdue. As well, it’s Louisiana Tech vs. No. 13 UCLA, and then High Point<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> vs. No. 23 Minnesota.<\/p>\n

Finally, the NHL has six games on tap for Sunday, including the Ottawa Senators continuing their western swing with a game in <\/span><\/font>Vancouver<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> against the Canucks.
