Standings leader Kyle Busch is the 6\/1 Vegas favorite to take the checkered flag at Michigan<\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:STATE> on Sunday. Busch visited victory lane yet again last weekend, holding off all challengers in the Centurion Boats at The Glen at Watkins Glen International. That road course win was Busch’s series-leading eighth checkered flag of the season.<\/o:P><\/p>\n

And Busch holds a 242-point lead on Carl Edwards for top spot in the series driver standings as the Chase for the Sprint Cup grows closer. Jimmie Johnson is sitting two points back of Edwards in third place in those standings. Edwards and Johnson are both pegged at 7\/1 odds to get the win in the 3M Performance 400.<\/o:P><\/p>\n

Kurt Busch won the 3M Performance 400 last year, while Dale Earnhardt<\/span> Jr. took the checkered flag in the LifeLock<\/span> 400 at Michigan<\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:STATE> back in June. Jeff Gordon, Matt Kenseth<\/span>, Greg Biffle<\/span>, and Ryan Newman all have a pair of Cup wins at Michigan<\/st1:PLACE><\/st1:STATE> in their careers, while Tony Stewart, Edwards, and Kasey<\/span> Kahne<\/span> have each won there once.<\/o:P><\/p>\n

The Rockies and Nationals will finish off their battle of also-rans on Sunday afternoon, with Washington’s Odalis<\/span> Perez (5-8, 4.12 ERA) expected to take on the Rockies’ Aaron Cook (14-8, 3.87 ERA). Righthander<\/span> Cook has a nice stats line right now, but he’s given up 11 earned runs on 21 hits over his last two outings (11 1-3 innings), and he had to miss his last scheduled start because of a sore back.<\/p>\n
