\ntheir roots back to the original free telephone scoreboards, then known as SportsLine<\/span>. However, the founder, known as \u201cBig Red\u201d did
\nnot have the foresight to copyright the name. When SportsLine.com did as such,
\nthey sent a cease-and-desist order to sports betting pioneer \u201cBig Red\u201d to stop
\nusing the SportsLine<\/span> brand. The score lines went to
\nthe more generic \u201cfree scoreboard\u201d moniker. <\/p>\n

The early days featured such up-and-comers Mark Lawrence,
\nMel Stewart, former NFL head coach and NFL Hall-of-Fame inductee Hank Stram<\/span>, and legendary broadcaster Ray Scott. It has also
\nbeen a major stepping stone for such accomplished sports handicappers<\/a> as Joe Duffy\u2019s
\nAmazing Cadillac Club (JD of the ACC), theRealAnimal<\/span>,
\nJonathan Mardukas<\/span>, Chris Jordan and his doppelganger
\nOscar Dooley, the Lock Line and SuperLockLine, which begat MasterLockLine.com<\/span><\/a> <\/span> <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

Other handicappers who purchased advertising time, though
\nare not alumni, include included Brandon Lane<\/st1:address><\/st1:Street>
\n(Brandon<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> Link), Sean Michaels the
\nSports Broker, and Mike Anthony (the Million Dollar Man), and Jeff Allen.<\/p>\n

Much like Vegas Insider<\/a>,
\nthe scorephone during its SportsLine<\/span> days consisted
\nonly of the most reputable handicappers. <\/span>The Tailgate
\nParty<\/a> for years was a must-call for every serious gambler as Joe Duffy,
\nStevie Vincent and Chris Jordan gave gamblers the ATS edge with timely free sports betting<\/a> information. <\/span><\/p>\n

When \u201cBig Red\u201d sold the enterprise to television tout Stu<\/span> Feiner<\/span> the scorephones slowly
\nbut surely took a turn into the hard-sell and began mimicking the Johnny DeMarco<\/span> and Jack Price audiotext sports phone. <\/p>\n

Literally every top handicapper left for the
\nFreescoreboard toll-free scorephone. Feiner<\/span>
\neventually sold to Steve Budin<\/span>, son of one of the
\nearly offshore sportsbook owners. Budin<\/span> free spending
\nhas help rebuild the Sports Advisors group around a patchwork assembly of
\nhandicappers. <\/p>\n

Hoping to learn from frequent missteps, Feiner<\/span> has re-entered the scorephone arena led by
\njourneyman tout Chuck Franklin and several upstarts. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
