Dale Junior last won a Cup<br \/>\nevent back in 2006, and he ended a drought spanning 76 races.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p>Brian Vickers and Tony Stewart rounded out the Top 5 at <st1:State><st1:place>Michigan<\/st1:place><\/st1:State>,<br \/>\nwhile Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards, David Ragan, Elliott Sadler, and Jamie<br \/>\nMcMurray made up the rest of the day&#8217;s Top 10. Kevin <span class=SpellE>Harvick<\/span><br \/>\nwas 12th on the day, <span class=GramE>points<\/span> leader Kyle Busch was<br \/>\n13th, Denny Hamlin was 14th, and Jeff Burton ended up in 15th place at the<br \/>\nfinish.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p>Martin <span class=SpellE>Truex<\/span> Jr. (17th), Jeff Gordon (18th), and<br \/>\nGreg <span class=SpellE>Biffle<\/span> (20th) also cracked the Top 20 at <st1:State><st1:place>Michigan<\/st1:place><\/st1:State>,<br \/>\nwhile Clint Bowyer ended up in 26th place, and Juan Montoya was 38th.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p><span class=SpellE>Earnhardt<\/span> Jr. <span class=GramE>still<\/span> sits<br \/>\nin third place in the driver standings, but he&#8217;s now just 84 points behind<br \/>\nfirst-place Busch. <st1:City><st1:place>Burton<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> is 32<br \/>\npoints back of the leader in second place after 15 events. Edwards, Johnson,<br \/>\nHamlin, <span class=SpellE>Kahne<\/span>, <span class=SpellE>Biffle<\/span>,<br \/>\nGordon, <span class=SpellE>Harvick<\/span>, Stewart, and Bowyer also sit in<br \/>\nTop-12 positions in the standings and above the Chase&#8217;s cutoff line.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p>Ragan is only 10 points behind Bowyer for 12th place, while <span\nclass=SpellE>Kenseth<\/span> moved up one spot into 14th with his result at <st1:State><st1:place>Michigan<\/st1:place><\/st1:State><br \/>\n(14 points behind Bowyer). <span class=SpellE>Truex<\/span> Jr. and Vickers sit<br \/>\njust behind <span class=SpellE>Kenseth<\/span>, while Ryan Newman dropped three<br \/>\nspots into 17th place after running into engine troubles on the weekend and<br \/>\nfinishing well back in 42nd.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p>Former Formula One driver Montoya picked up the victory at the <span\nclass=SpellE>Infineon<\/span> road course last year, after starting way back<br \/>\nfrom the No. 32 spot on the grid. Montoya sits back in 22nd place in the<br \/>\ncurrent standings, and he will be hoping for a solid result this weekend.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p>Gordon has five <span class=GramE>career<\/span> Cup wins on the <st1:place><st1:City>Sonoma<\/st1:City>,<br \/>\n<st1:State>California<\/st1:State><\/st1:place> track; he visited victory lane<br \/>\nthere in 2006, 2004, 2000, 1999, and 1998. The only other active driver with<br \/>\nmultiple <span class=SpellE>Infineon<\/span> wins is Stewart, who took the<br \/>\ncheckered flag there in both 2005 and 2001. Robby Gordon won this event in the<br \/>\n2003 season, and Mark Martin got the win in 1997.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p>And the Vegas oddsmakers have Jeff Gordon and Stewart pegged as the 5\/1<br \/>\nco-favorites to win at <span class=SpellE>Infineon<\/span> this weekend. Robby<br \/>\nGordon, Montoya, and Scott Pruett are next at 7\/1, with Kyle Busch and <span\nclass=SpellE>Harvick<\/span> at 8\/1, and Boris Said and Ron Fellows at 10\/1.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p><span class=SpellE>Biffle<\/span> begins the next tier of contenders at 12\/1<br \/>\nodds, with Hamlin at 15\/1, Bowyer and McMurray both at 18\/1, and each of <span\nclass=SpellE>Earnhardt<\/span> Jr., <span class=SpellE>Truex<\/span> Jr., and<br \/>\nKurt Busch at 20\/1. <st1:City><st1:place>Burton<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>, Newman,<br \/>\nand Patrick <span class=SpellE>Carpentier<\/span> are all at 22\/1 odds, with<br \/>\nJohnson, Edwards, <span class=SpellE>Kahne<\/span>, and Dario <span\nclass=SpellE>Franchitti<\/span> sitting just back of that group on the current<br \/>\nlist at 25\/1 odds.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p><span class=GramE>Points<\/span> leader Kyle Busch is still the oddsmakers&#8217;<br \/>\nchoice to win the Sprint Cup this year &#8211; he&#8217;s pegged as the 5\/2 favorite. <span\nclass=SpellE>Earnhardt<\/span> Jr. is next at 3\/1, with Edwards at 7\/2, Johnson<br \/>\nat 5\/1, and Hamlin at 7\/1. Jeff Gordon is currently listed at 10\/1 odds to win<br \/>\nthe championship this season, with each of Stewart, <st1:City><st1:place>Burton<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>,<br \/>\nand <span class=SpellE>Biffle<\/span> sitting at 12\/1 odds.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p>After racing at <span class=SpellE>Infineon<\/span> the drivers of the Sprint<br \/>\nCup Series will move on to New Hampshire Motor Speedway for the LENOX<br \/>\nIndustrial Tools 301 on June 29.
