The <span\nclass=SpellE>righthander<\/span> held the Red Sox to three earned runs on 10<br \/>\nhits over seven innings last Wednesday to secure his fourth victory of the<br \/>\nseason. Back on April 18 against the Yankees Cabrera surrendered just two<br \/>\nearned runs on six hits over six innings to earn <span class=GramE>himself<\/span><br \/>\nthe win.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p>Mussina has won five starts in a row, and he hasn&#8217;t given up more than three<br \/>\nruns in an outing since April 17 versus the Red Sox. The veteran <span\nclass=SpellE>righthander<\/span> last pitched on May 14 versus the Rays, holding<br \/>\nthe opposition to just one earned run on five hits over his 6 1-3 innings of<br \/>\nwork. Mussina has not faced his former <st1:City><st1:place>Baltimore<\/st1:place><\/st1:City><br \/>\nteammates this year.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p><st1:City><st1:place><strong>Los Angeles<\/strong><\/st1:place><\/st1:City><strong><br \/>\nAngels at <\/strong><st1:City><st1:place><strong>Toronto<\/strong><\/st1:place><\/st1:City><strong><br \/>\nBlue Jays, <\/strong><st1:time Minute=\"7\" Hour=\"19\"><strong>7:07pm ET<\/strong><\/st1:time><b><br \/>\n<strong>John Lackey (0-0, 1.29 ERA) vs. Dustin McGowan (2-3, 4.38 ERA)<\/strong><\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p>Lackey finally made his season debut on May 14 against the White Sox, and he<br \/>\nlooked as sharp as ever. The <span class=SpellE>righthander<\/span> missed the<br \/>\nfirst month and a half of the season recovering from a strained triceps, but he<br \/>\nheld <st1:City><st1:place>Chicago<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> to one earned run on<br \/>\nsix hits over seven strong innings of work. Lackey walked one and struck out<br \/>\nfour in that outing.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p>McGowan was pounded by the Indians back on May 10 &#8211; he surrendered nine<br \/>\nearned runs on nine hits over 3 2-3 innings to take his third loss of the<br \/>\nseason. However, the <span class=SpellE>righthander<\/span> bounced back versus<br \/>\nthe Twins last time out, holding the opposition to two earned runs on two hits<br \/>\nover five innings. McGowan earned a no-decision in that game.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p><st1:State><st1:place><strong>Arizona<\/strong><\/st1:place><\/st1:State><strong><br \/>\nDiamondbacks at <\/strong><st1:State><st1:place><strong>Florida<\/strong><\/st1:place><\/st1:State><strong><br \/>\nMarlins, <\/strong><st1:time Minute=\"10\" Hour=\"19\"><strong>7:10pm ET<\/strong><\/st1:time><b><br \/>\n<strong>Micah Owings (5-1, 3.81 ERA) vs. Mark Hendrickson (5-2, 3.91 ERA)<\/strong><\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p>Owings got back into the win column for the Diamondbacks in his last start (on<br \/>\nMay 14), holding the <st1:place>Rockies<\/st1:place> scoreless on five hits over<br \/>\nsix innings of work. The <span class=SpellE>righthander<\/span> had gone 0-1<br \/>\nwith two no-decisions over his previous three outings after picking up a win in<br \/>\neach of his first four starts. Owings has allowed three or fewer runs in six of<br \/>\neight starts.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p>Hendrickson earned the win in four of his first five starts this season, but<br \/>\nsince then he&#8217;s gone just 1-1 with two no-decisions. The lefthander is coming<br \/>\noff a loss to the Reds in which he allowed four earned runs on eight hits (and<br \/>\nfive walks) in just five innings of work. Hendrickson&#8217;s last victory came back<br \/>\non May 2 in a home start versus the Padres.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p><st1:City><st1:place><strong>San Francisco<\/strong><\/st1:place><\/st1:City><strong><br \/>\nGiants at <\/strong><st1:State><st1:place><strong>Colorado<\/strong><\/st1:place><\/st1:State><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><st1:place><strong>Rockies<\/strong><\/st1:place><strong>, <\/strong><st1:time\nMinute=\"35\" Hour=\"20\"><strong>8:35pm ET<\/strong><\/st1:time><b><br \/>\n<strong>Tim <span class=SpellE>Lincecum<\/span> (5-1, 1.92 ERA) vs. Aaron Cook<br \/>\n(6-2, 2.82 ERA)<\/strong><\/b><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p><span class=SpellE>Lincecum<\/span> continues to be the star of the Giants&#8217;<br \/>\npitching staff, as he&#8217;s allowed three or fewer earned runs in each of his nine<br \/>\noutings so far this season. The <span class=SpellE>righthander<\/span> is coming<br \/>\noff a victory over the Astros (six innings pitched, three earned runs), but his<br \/>\nonly defeat came on April 29 versus the <st1:place>Rockies<\/st1:place> (seven<br \/>\ninnings pitched, three earned runs).<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p>Cook got the victory in that April 29 contest against <st1:City><st1:place>San<br \/>\nFrancisco<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> &#8211; he surrendered just two unearned runs on<br \/>\n10 hits over seven innings in that outing, fanning three.
