This report entails games of Dec. 23-Dec. 27.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<h1><st1:place><st1:PlaceName><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>East<\/span><\/st1:PlaceName><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'> <\/span><st1:PlaceName><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Carolina-Boise<\/span><\/st1:PlaceName><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'> <\/span><st1:PlaceType><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>State<\/span><\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h1>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><st1:City><st1:place>Boise<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> is much<br \/>\nbetter on both sides of the ball. They get 4.9 more first downs per game on<br \/>\n98.6 total yards per game and .7 more yards per play. <st1:place>East Carolina<\/st1:place><br \/>\nholds their own in ball control though as the teams are dead even in rushing<br \/>\nyards per attempt. Boise gets 1.5 more passing yards per attempt but their<br \/>\npassing yards per reception is actually less than many may think, getting a<br \/>\nminimal .5 more than the Pirates. <o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>The Broncos actually have slightly better margins of<br \/>\nadvantage on the defensive side of the ball. The <st1:City><st1:place>Boise<\/st1:place><\/st1:City><br \/>\nboys allow 5.7 fewer first downs per game, 107.7 fewer yards on .8 less yards<br \/>\nper play allowed. The superiority is pretty consistent though as they allow .4<br \/>\nless rushing yards per attempt and 1.1 less passing yards per attempt. However,<br \/>\nECU allows .2 fewer passing yards per reception. <st1:City><st1:place>Boise<\/st1:place><\/st1:City><br \/>\nhas a commanding advantage in pass completion percentage allowing 10.2 less.<br \/>\nBefore you conclude the stats say <st1:City><st1:place>Boise<\/st1:place><\/st1:City><br \/>\nshould be an even bigger chalk, note ECU protects the ball much better with a<br \/>\nturnover ratio 10 better than <span class=SpellE>BSU<\/span>. <o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<h1><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Central Michigan-Purdue<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h1>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>Offensively, this is one of the more evenly matched<br \/>\nstatistical battles. Purdue gets just .4 more first downs per game but CMU gets<br \/>\n27.4 more yards per game on .4 more yards per play. The Boilermakers get 22.2<br \/>\nmore yards per game in the air. The biggest edge is on rushing yards per<br \/>\nattempt where the Chippewas get .9 more. While Central accumulates .2 more<br \/>\npassing yards per attempt, it\u2019s Purdue earning .3 more passing yards per<br \/>\nreception. <o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>Purdue\u2019s defensive superiority is across the board, but<br \/>\nnot by dominating margins. They allow 3.4 fewer first downs per game on 64.7<br \/>\nfewer total yards. They also allow .8 less yards per play. The biggest upper<br \/>\nhand is with pass defense, allowing 1.7 less passing yards per attempt and 1.3<br \/>\nless passing yards per reception and a passing percentage against of 7.9 better<br \/>\nthan CMU allows. In turnovers and rushing yards per attempt the teams are<br \/>\nnearly even. <o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<h1><st1:place><st1:PlaceName><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Texas-Arizona<\/span><\/st1:PlaceName><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'> <\/span><st1:PlaceType><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>State<\/span><\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h1>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><st1:State><st1:place>Texas<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> is<br \/>\nslightly better overall offensively, but <st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Arizona<\/st1:PlaceName><br \/>\n<st1:PlaceType>State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> is better in the air. The Longhorns<br \/>\namass 52 more yards per game on .8 more yards per play. <st1:State><st1:place>Texas<\/st1:place><\/st1:State><br \/>\nhas the smash mouth upper hand by a significant 1.5 more yards per rush.<br \/>\nHowever it\u2019s <span class=SpellE>ASU<\/span> that accrues .4 more passing yards<br \/>\nper attempt and .7 more passing yards per reception. <o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>Contrary to the stereotype of the Pac-10, the Sun Devils<br \/>\nallow 3.3 fewer first downs per game, 35.9 fewer yards and .2 less yards per<br \/>\nplay. <st1:State><st1:place>Texas<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> though allows 7.8<br \/>\nfewer yards per rush.
