Switch stations<br \/>\nafterwards as \u201cBad Radio\u201d follows.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  <\/span>Not<br \/>\nonly does the show title fit, but it describes the rest of the broadcast day.<\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><st1:City><st1:place>Philadelphia<\/st1:place><\/st1:City><br \/>\nis the sports gambling capital of the world, especially when it comes to<br \/>\nprofessional sports. The newer of the all-sports stations <span class=SpellE>WPEN<\/span><br \/>\n<span class=SpellE>Sportsradio<\/span> 950 has one of the premier true sports<br \/>\ntalk hosts in the land, Jody McDonald.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'><br \/>\n<\/span>Like <span class=SpellE>Hitzges<\/span>, \u201cJody Mac\u201d has no compunction<br \/>\nabout talking pointspread. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>His show is opposite sports radio veteran Howard <span\nclass=SpellE>Eskin<\/span>, a pioneer in newspaper sports handicapping as he was<br \/>\nthe original Vegas Vic in the Philadelphia Daily News. <span class=SpellE>Eskin<\/span><br \/>\nis heard on <span class=SpellE>WIP<\/span> radio. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>Unfortunately, 610 <span class=SpellE>WIP<\/span> is a<br \/>\nperfect illustration of the difference between true sports radio that the<br \/>\nsports bettors prefer and \u201cguy radio\u201d which appeals to the great unwashed who<br \/>\nfill out their <span class=SpellE>Arbitron<\/span> radio books. <span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>On one hand, they have the stereotypical \u201cyou are an<br \/>\nidiot, you are a moron\u201d comic book character host Steve <span class=SpellE>Martorano<\/span><br \/>\non five days a week, but hide one of their true sports experts, and admitted<br \/>\nsports handicapping junkie Paul <span class=SpellE>Jolvitz<\/span>, AKA \u201cJolly\u201d<br \/>\nin the middle of weekend nights. <span style='mso-spacerun:yes'> <\/span><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>Unlike radio legend Pete Franklin, who mixed his shtick with<br \/>\nsubstance, <span class=SpellE>Martorano<\/span> uses his grade-school name<br \/>\ncalling to waive the intellectual white flag. <span class=SpellE>WIP<\/span><br \/>\nalso has sundry Brandon Lang infomercials further debasing the product. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>Former Philadelphian and former <span class=SpellE>XTRA<\/span><br \/>\nSports Radio personality Philly Billy <span class=SpellE>Werndl<\/span> moved to<br \/>\nSan Diego XX Sports Radio, but unfortunately cannot be heard on Real Audio any<br \/>\nlonger. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>Though sources tell me he is an anti-gambling zealot, he<br \/>\nis one of the top NFL experts. Mitch Levy hosts a show on <span class=SpellE>KJR<\/span><br \/>\nin <st1:City><st1:place>Seattle<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>  <\/span>We\u2019ve gotten decent Pac-10 tidbits from his<br \/>\nshow that has benefited our sports handicapping. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><span class=SpellE>WFAN<\/span> radio in <st1:State><st1:place>New<br \/>\nYork<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> is the first of all all-sports radio stations<br \/>\nand still the king.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  <\/span>While \u201cMike and the<br \/>\nMad Dog\u201d combination of Mike <span class=SpellE>Francesa<\/span> and Chris Russo<br \/>\nare their best known hosts in the post Don <span class=SpellE>Imus<\/span> era,<br \/>\nit\u2019s Joe <span class=SpellE>Benigno<\/span> who has the best insight. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><span class=SpellE>WEEI<\/span> in <st1:City><st1:place>Boston<\/st1:place><\/st1:City><br \/>\nis solid too and it\u2019s all Patriots all the time on NFL Sundays and Mondays. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>Rick <span class=SpellE>Ballou<\/span>, formally of<br \/>\nSporting News Radio, now at <st1:place><st1:City>Jacksonville<\/st1:City>, <st1:State>Florida<\/st1:State><\/st1:place>\u2019s<br \/>\n1010XL is one of the top college football experts in the land, especially with<br \/>\nSEC and <st1:State><st1:place>Florida<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> based teams. <\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><span class=SpellE>Ballou\u2019s<\/span> former employer has<br \/>\nopted to sell infomercial time to Mr. Duke Wins Larry <span class=SpellE>Dukeheart<\/span><br \/>\nand Jonathan Stone. Ron Barr\u2019s Sports Byline Radio Network features something<br \/>\ncalled Sports Memo Radio Show with Tim <span class=SpellE>Trushel<\/span>.
