So letdowns, sandwich<br \/>\ngames, revenge, playoff ramifications are among the issues in said subset. <o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>Form should be weighed in direct proportion to how often<br \/>\nthe sports play.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  <\/span>In other words, baseball,<br \/>\nwhich plays every day, is the sport where recent form is slanted the heaviest,<br \/>\nwhile football is where we adjust it to the smallest value. <o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>There is no perfect interval to rate form, but as we\u2019ve<br \/>\nsaid it should be number of days, not games in the apples-to-apples comparison.<br \/>\nFor example, in comparing recent form of the Lakers to the Spurs, most use last<br \/>\nfive games.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  <\/span>We prefer the last 10<br \/>\ndays.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  <\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>Nothing can, for good or bad, alter recent form as much as<br \/>\ntime off. This explains why momentum is most important in baseball and least in<br \/>\nfootball.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>The old adage of cream rising to the top\u2026or dung sinking<br \/>\nto the bottom does have a great deal of truth to the handicapper.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>  <\/span>So across the board, quality is far and away<br \/>\nthe primary derivative in sports gambling. <span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'> <\/span><o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>The public tends to overreact to aberrational recent<br \/>\nperformance, especially in high profile game.
