Favre has made a<br \/>\nquarterback-record 255 consecutive starts, and he\u2019s been at his best at home,<br \/>\ngoing 88-29 at Lambeau Field. <st1:City><st1:place>Green Bay<\/st1:place><\/st1:City><br \/>\nis 40-5 under Favre at home when the game-time temperature is below 35 degrees<br \/>\n&#8211; temperatures are expected to be in the 30s with a chance for rain and snow<br \/>\nwhen Thursday\u2019s game kicks off. After throwing 20 touchdown passes and a<br \/>\ncareer-worst 29 interceptions during a 4-12 season in 2005, the worst of <span\nclass=SpellE>Favre\u2019s<\/span> tenure, he\u2019s bounced back this season to throw only<br \/>\n15 picks as the Packers have rebounded from a 1-4 start to join the NFC playoff<br \/>\nhunt. <st1:City><st1:place>Green Bay<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> and <st1:State><st1:place>Minnesota<\/st1:place><\/st1:State><br \/>\ncan still make the playoffs as a wild card, but both teams need help. They\u2019re<br \/>\none game behind the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons, who at 7-7 are tied<br \/>\nfor the <span class=SpellE>NFC\u2019s<\/span> final wild-card spot.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<h1><span class=SpellE><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>CFB<\/span><\/span><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt'> <o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h1>\n<h2><span class=SpellE><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>BYU<\/span><\/span><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt'>-Oregon<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h2>\n<h3><st1:place><st1:PlaceName><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Pahrump<\/span><\/st1:PlaceName><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt'> <\/span><st1:PlaceType><span style='font-size:12.0pt'>Valley<\/span><\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt'> News<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=MsoBodyText>Stadium officials added 4,000 seats to the home of the <span\nclass=SpellE>UNLV<\/span> Rebels to accommodate a huge contingent of fans who<br \/>\nback the No. 19-ranked Cougars, 10-2. About one-fourth of the fans at the game<br \/>\n(ESPN 5 p.m.) will be supporting <st1:State><st1:place>Oregon<\/st1:place><\/st1:State>,<br \/>\n7-5. <span class=SpellE>BYU<\/span> is led by quarterback John Beck, a 6-2,<br \/>\n216-pound senior who has completed 261 of 371 passes for 319.6 yards per game,<br \/>\n30 touchdowns, with only six interceptions. Both teams have respectable running<br \/>\ngames, with Jonathan Stewart (5-11, 234 <span class=GramE>sophomore<\/span>)<br \/>\nleading <st1:State><st1:place>Oregon<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> with 960 yards and<br \/>\n10 touchdowns on 176 rushes. Curtis Brown (6, 203, senior) paces <span\nclass=SpellE>BYU<\/span> with 184 attempts, 890 yards and <span class=GramE>five<br \/>\n<span class=SpellE>TDs<\/span>. Jon <span class=SpellE>Hartline<\/span> (6-4,<br \/>\n238, senior)<\/span> has 49 catches for 754 yards and 11 <span class=SpellE>TDs<\/span><br \/>\nto lead the <span class=SpellE>BYU<\/span> receiving corps. <span class=SpellE>Jaison<\/span><br \/>\nWilliams (6-5, 243, sophomore) has 68 receptions for 984 yards and six<br \/>\ntouchdowns. Dennis Dixon, a 6-4, 196 junior, is expected to start at<br \/>\nquarterback for <st1:State><st1:place>Oregon<\/st1:place><\/st1:State>. He is<br \/>\n187-for-302 with 184 yards per game passing. He\u2019s thrown for 11 touchdowns, but<br \/>\nhas tossed 12 interceptions.<o:p><\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><span class=SpellE>BYU<\/span> averages 36.7 ppg, while the<br \/>\nDucks scored 31.2. The Ducks, who were<br \/>\nranked as high as 11<sup>th<\/sup> in the nation this season and remained in the<br \/>\ntop 25 for three months, finished their season 7-5 overall and 4-5 in league<br \/>\nplay.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span class=normtext1><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Salt<br \/>\n<\/span><\/span><st1:place><st1:PlaceType><span class=normtext1><span\nstyle='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Lake<\/span><\/span><\/st1:PlaceType><span\nclass=normtext1><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'> <\/span><\/span><st1:PlaceName><span\nclass=normtext1><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'>Tribune<\/span><\/span><\/st1:PlaceName><\/st1:place><span\nclass=normtext1><span style='font-size:12.0pt;font-family:\"Times New Roman\"'><o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=MsoBodyText><span class=SpellE>BYU<\/span> hasn\u2019t won a bowl game since<br \/>\nit beat <st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Kansas<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType>State<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place><br \/>\n19-15 in the Cotton Bowl on <st1:date Month=\"1\" Day=\"1\" Year=\"1997\">Jan. 1,<br \/>\n1997<\/st1:date>, to finish No. 5 in the national rankings. The Cougars have<br \/>\ndropped four straight postseason <span class=SpellE>matchups<\/span> since,<br \/>\nincluding last year\u2019s 35-28 loss to <st1:State><st1:place>California<\/st1:place><\/st1:State><br \/>\nhere. <st1:State><st1:place>Oregon<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> is 0-3 in bowl games<br \/>\nsince it downed <st1:State><st1:place>Colorado<\/st1:place><\/st1:State> 38-16 at<br \/>\nthe Fiesta Bowl on <st1:date Month=\"1\" Day=\"1\" Year=\"2002\">Jan. 1, 2002<\/st1:date>.<br \/>\n<span class=SpellE>Bellotti<\/span> said losses to <st1:State><st1:place>Oklahoma<\/st1:place><\/st1:State><br \/>\n(17-14) in the 2005 Holiday Bowl and <st1:State><st1:place>Minnesota<\/st1:place><\/st1:State><br \/>\n(31-30) in the 2003 Sun Bowl came on last-second plays, while the 38-17 setback<br \/>\nto <st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Wake<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:PlaceType>Forest<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place><br \/>\nin 2002 was a legitimate butt-kicking.<span style='mso-spacerun:yes'>  <\/span>\u201cWe<br \/>\neasily could have won two of those three,\u201d he said.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>  <\/span>The Cougars can\u2019t say that. They\u2019ve lost the<br \/>\nlast four bowl games by an average score of 31-17.<span\nstyle='mso-spacerun:yes'>  <\/span>Because of their bowl futility, the Ducks<br \/>\ninsist this is an important game for them.
